Review: A special effects masterpiece and an interesting story, but not a classic in the likes of Citizen Kane and The Godfater series. The acting is mediocre but typical for a musical of this era. This is definitely a movie for children and I do not recommend it for adults unless they are on a nostalgia trip.

Review: Did you know that the producers had to tell Scare Crow and the Tin Man to allow Judy Garland room on the stage? They tried physically to get in front of her and block her out of the view of the camera on numerous occasions while dancing down the Yellow Brick Road. Check out their arrogance!

Summary: An Alternate Way to Watch "The Wizard of Oz"?
Review: Considering when "The Wizard of Oz" was made, it is virtually a perfect film! The acting is sweet, the story is clean and moves right along. The special effects are great especially in light of the fact that there were no computers back then. It's all hand crafted! I've seen this movie more times than most folks since I'm webmaster of "The Dark Side of the Wizard of Oz (The Definitive List)". For those of you who have never heard of this you may wish to give it a shot. Here is how it is done: Cue up "The Dark Side of the Moon" CD and start up "The Wizard of Oz" video. Get past all the commercial junk at the beginning of the video and then after the third roar of the black and white MGM lion hit the play button on your CD player and turn down the sound of the video. This is all the information I can give becasue I'm not allowed to offer the URL to my web page. Contrary to some opionions, no libations of any kind are necessary nor even suggested when viewing the video this way. My sister looks like Judy Garland!

Review: This movie is not particularly entertaining in my opinion. That is unless you turn off the sound and play Pink Floyd's Dark Side of The Moon simultaneously. It's frighteningly in sync with the movie. If you happen to be under the influence of everybody's favorite burning plant matter it will certainly be a memorable experience

Summary: A Highlight in Anyone's Book
Review: The casting is perfect (as if Shirley Temple could pull all this off), the makeup is charmingly antique, and the script can hold i's own against any comedy today. Considering it's age of 60 years, that's saying something. The Amazon.com price, while it is a little unreasonable, is either justified or grudgingly forked over as one realizes that this classic is not available to buy in stores. At the date of my writing this anyway. Really a spectacular movie.

This is a great film to watch with kids or with family. I highly recommend this film. It is a favorite of all Americans! The only bad thing about buying it here on Amazon.com is it's price of $29.99! A bit pricey!
