Rating: Summary: I Watch It Over and Over......and, Love It Even More. Review: I grew up on "Anne with an E" and still cherish it to this day. Even at my "ripe ole' age of 24" this movie still gets me. The story of young orphan Anne and the much loved brother/sister pair of Matthew and Marilla that adopt her, is so sweet and full of love. The tales teach so many lessons and is a wonderful movie for the whole family. The sequels are equally as charming and wonderful. There has been a final installment produced in Canada on the CBC and hopefully, that will be available to a larger audience soon. It's a nice wrap up to the girl we all have come to love. Megan Follows IS Anne. She personifies the role. This is one that everyone should own.
Rating: Summary: Anne of Green Gables Review: I love the Anne of ... series. Great characters, supurb acting, wonderful customes and scenery. Uplifting messages for children and adults. There is a new story called, "Anne of Green Gables, the Story Continues" or possibly "Anne, the Story Continues". Does anyone know how to get it on VHS?
Rating: Summary: Big Deal (zzzzz) Review: I heard so many great things about this movie, I decided I would give it a chance. Wow, what a mistake. So dull it puts you to tears. Its like a 4 hour Little House on the Prairie epiode from you know where. Just plain old corny and dull.
Rating: Summary: Funny, entertaining, a Great movie Review: This movie is a MUST buy. It is funny in a serious way. Anne Shirley, an orphan who has gone through many homes has finally had her dream come true. She is going to live with a real family! Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert, expecting a boy to help with the fields are surprised but soon begin to love Anne. This is a story you will never get tired of reading or watching. Enjoy!
Rating: Summary: Love the Anne series Review: The Anne series is enjoyable for adults and children alike. When my family sits down to watch it, we end up watching the Green Gables tapes followed by the Avonlea tapes, and make a day of it! Everyone from kids to my 60 year old uncle thought it was fun!
Rating: Summary: A Feast For The Senses And The Mind! Review: Get ready for a feast of the senses. In "Anne of Green Gables" you're transported into the world of Avonlea, Prince Edward Island. This wonderfully sweet story of an orphan taken in by an "old maid" and "old bachelor" sister and brother will tear at your heartstrings and bring you into the most soothing presence you've felt in years. There are moments of mischief (Green hair?). As you watch this young odd-looking girl grow into a beautiful woman, you'll meet the wonderful people in her world. You'll notice these people in your own life as well. There is the cute boy in school who teases Anne (Gilbert Blythe...sigh...) who she dismisses as her enemy. He silently worships her and your heart melts for him. While Anne dreamily looks for her charming prince, her eys are clouded to her world around her. L.M. Montgomery has created a beautiful story of love and the spirit of kindness. After watching this movie you'll find your own world a little brighter and your life greatly enriched.
Rating: Summary: Anne with an E is truly a kindred spirit Review: I have seen this movie millions of times, but it still remains to be my favorite! In the beginning we see Anne as an enchanting twelve year old who is in the depths of despair. She grows into everyone's hearts, including her worst rival, Gilbert Blythe. In this incredible mini series, Anne grows from an insecure orphan, into a courageous young woman, As a teenager, I related to Anne on so many levels. Megan Follows truly gave Anne Shirley justice by playing this role. She seems to understand Anne from the very depths of her soul. This movie, along with Anne of Avonlea, and the recent Anne of Green Gables: The Continuing Story, are truly acting at its best. I think this is one of the best book adaptions ever.
Rating: Summary: The Sweetest movie ever! Review: I think this is a great movie that I could watch over, and over again. I first saw it two years ago with my mom, when I was 13,and instantly fell in love with it. It takes place in the late 19th century in the small, but breathtaking town of Avonlea. Anne (an orphan girl) is mistakingly adopted by a very kind and loving brother and sister. Anne becomes best friends with a girl named Diana, who is secretly in love with a boy named Gilbert. As the years pass, Gibert and Anne become kind of close, and as you will find out Diana reveals to Anne her feelings about Gilbert. Anne asks Diana why she never said anything and she replies,"because I thought my best friend was in love with him." The whole time I was watching this movie I was hoping that Anne and Gilbert would get together, but I guess you'll just have to see if they do for yourself. I recommend watching "Anne of Avonlea" it is also a great movie. It shows what fate holds for Anne and Gilbert. Will the be together or will they drift apart?
Rating: Summary: an entertainment delight Review: As Anne of Green Gables, Megn Follows, will steal your heart. We watch this film at least twice a year and have memorized every word of dialogue and still enjoy it every time. Good entertainment that you want your children to watch. When anyone in our family is sick they curl up on the sofa and watch this 2 video set along with Anne of Avonlea.
Rating: Summary: I LOVE ANNE WITH AN E! Review: This is my all time favorite movie! I love Anne! I cry when Matthew dies every time I watch it and I rejoice with Anne when she rejoices. Bye this video! I've asked for it for the last 3 years and I still haven't got it yet. But I watch it every time it's on or I find it in the libary. Anne is the best, and I also love Gil!
