Summary: Typical Disney. Getting The Minimum For The Maximum Price
Review: Well, the good news is the Little Mermaid, Peter Pan, 101 Dalmations, Pinocchio, and Lady And The Tramp all shine on DVD. The bad news is that Mulan, Hercules, and the direct to video Lion King II: Simba's Pride still stink. Was Hades, the medocre villian in Hercules, involved in the desicion to release such an unever boxed set? The other bad news is all these movies, both as a boxed set and individually, cost top dollar for a DVD and come with the mimimum of extra features. You are lucky if you get a theatrical trailer. For the price Disney is charging they could have easily packed the extras that graced the deluxed editions of the laser discs of these films. If you must own these titles, by them individually, sparing some of the lesser titles. The only reason you may want to own all these movies is if you have a child who loves all of them.

Summary: "Classic" Collection? of Disney Movies?
Review: I woulnd't call all of the movies "classics". But if you look elsewhere you can find the set for 1/2 as much, and then it becomes a much better value, even including the not so classic "Classics" from Disney.

Summary: This DVD set is a LOSER!!
Review: I am huge fan of Disney movies and when I think of the DVD collection encasing "The Classics," the last title I would put on my list would be "Lion King 2-Simbas Pride!" That "cartoon" is not a classic by any means. Although Mulan and Hercules are good Disney movies they hardly hold a candle to "Lady and the Tramp," "101 Dalmations" or "The Jungle Book." Disney really screwed up on this one! Can you see yourself paying for a $30.00 DVD with no extras, no commentary, no deleted scenes etc..??? Heavens NO! Consumers are getting smarter about what is considered quality and what goes straight to the junk pile. This DVD set priced as is, sells each DVD for approximately $33.90 per DVD! THAT'S RIDICULOUS!! Save your money folks! Keep your VHS tapes, they still have several years of enjoyment.

Summary: Not My First Choice of Movies, But Still Worth It
Review: When I first thought above rating this box set, I thought that I would give it a 3 out of five, but then I went and retrieved the set from the video shelf. The more I closely examined it, the more that I realized that most of the movies included in the set are great films. Not only for children but for adults as well. I find myself choosing the film for the evening and not my son. I guess age has its privileges. Mulan has to be my favorite followed by The Little Mermaid. Probably wouldn't have purchased Hercules if it wasn't included in the set, but it is still a good film.

Then I thought to myself, would I purchase this box set again. The answer is simply, "YES!"

My only true disappointment is that Disney has not released a second box set yet.

Summary: Great set, Horrible price
Review: This is a terrific set of classics. It is an essential start for Disney on DVD and you can pick up releases not currently available any other way. Still too pricey though as this deal can be found for half this amount.

Summary: Not the beat way to waste your money
Review: The only real adavntage this multi-pack has going for it is the fact that most of the DVD's are now unavaliable to buy seperately. So if you really want any or most of these Disney DVD's you need to buy this package. But if you want extras I suggest you wait. If you look hard enough you can even find these DVD's still seperately for sale at reasonable prices. Also some of these films, like Hercules, have already been rereleased in the Gold Collection. The new Disney DVD's are coming out with more and more bonus features. If you just hold out for a little while you can get new DVD's for a better price with more extras that just a trailer. Also if you hold off on purchasing this you won't get stuck with Simba's Pride. Nothing aganist the film but it does not deserve to be packaged with these classics. This is an incredably expensive product and could be very disappointing so I suggest you save you money for products that seem more promising.

Summary: Not the best selection
Review: Boy second class movies, cut the covers for the free DVDs, maybe a bad disk or a glitch, and what is worse is that Disney may make a buck or two. One of the few positive reviews is that if you move to a region 2 country, the DVD will look better.

What do you want? Quality? Try to buy these and have them shipped for the price of the bundled set. The set is packed with classics. Sure as with any set there is always a favorite or two left out. And I am sure that there will always be one you would like left out. If your kids can tell there is a ratio or graphics deficiency they are sitting too close. After you buy this starter kit you can fill in with the DVDs that will have learned how to improve. In the mean time, quantity can be fun too.

Summary: What happened to the rest of the classics?
Review: Buying this set is simply a waste of money. It is cheeper to buy the movies individually. But what is the deal with Lion King II? Hercules and Mulan were hardly any better. What happened to Lion King, Alladin, and Beauty and the Beast (remember, the animated movie that won the Academy Award? Disney should have put these movies in the set instead, maybe with Fantasia aswell instead of these iffy movies. Oh well, the best thing is to buy they on VHS for much less, because these movies are barely any better on DVD.

Summary: Rip-off
Review: As said by others - just another Disney cash cow. Overpriced and poorly grouped (lion king 2 and no lion king?)

Rating: 1 stars
Summary: Overpriced collection
Review: Disney has overpriced this collection significantly. It strikes me as silly to buy this collection when you could buy the individual components more cheaply. Save yourself some cash and buy the DVDs individually.

This also gives you the option of not buying _Lion King II_, which is certainly not my idea of a classic.
