Summary: A 10-year-old reviews a really good movie
Review: I have seen both of these movies on VHS, but I haven't seen the DVD version. These are two full-length (over 70 minutes each) animated features.I like this version of Wind in the Willows better than the Disney version. It's more like the book. The Willows in Winter is a sequel and it is very good too. I like these because the characters are funny and the animation is good. My parents liked them too.

Summary: Another classic for all ages
Review: I was introduced to the denizens of the river when I was very small - maybe age three or four. My edition was illustrated by Arthur Rackham, still the best version to this day, IMO (much as I love Ernest Shepherd's work...) I still remember being entranced by the juxtaposition of lyrical descriptions and occasionally wild and crazy action, expecially when Mr. Toad was involved - prefect balance for a child, and a terrific introduction to the wonders of the language in the hands of a true master. And one phrase - "Be my eyes, Ratty!" - has stayed with me ever since - that was when I really GOT the idea of helping and selflessness. I still have my beat-up old book and make sure that all the children of my acquaintance have a good hardback Rackham copy. This classic - forget Disney - is right up there with the original Poohs, and I'm sure it will remain a favorite for generations to come. Do yourself and the children in your life a favor and read it - preferably out loud - and prepare to laugh, smile, shed a tear, and never forget.

Review: This is probably one of the worst books that I have ever read. If you have good taste in books, you should be reading the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling or Holes by Louis Sachar or the Last of the Really Great Whangdoodles by Julie Edwards-not this.

Summary: My favoritve artist of "The Wind in the Willows"!
Review: Michel Plessix is in the process of completing a 4 volume graphic novel adaptation of "The Wind in the Willows." So far he has completed 2 volumes (Volume 2:Mr Toad is also available from AMAZON.COM). His beautiful watercolor artwork is my personal favorite of all the artistic interpretations I have seen thus far, although Inga Moore has certainly given him good competition!) While graphic novels may be strange reading for some (the story contains blocks of narration and word balloons which is a common practice in comic books), it's nonetheless very true to the original work and may be a great way for younger readers to experience the gentle charm of Kenneth Grahame's masterpiece.

Summary: Outstanding!
Review: I read this book for the first time as an adult, and can clearly see lessons that I still need to learn! The adventures of Rat, Mole, Toad, and Badger are timeless. They have spoken to young and old for decades, as they continue to speak to me. I was told by a man studying to be a pastor that during his internship, his mentor required that he read this book -- it has more to say about how to deal with relational conflicts and differing personalities than perhaps any other! Aside from the lessons to be learned here, however, the stories themselves are simply charming! The characters are vivid and lovable -- despite their quirks and foibles. I'm delighted to have discovered these stories -- even if it was a little later in life than most.

Summary: wonderful dramatization, all the characters come to life
Review: As a non-native English speaker, I sometimes find it's hard to appreciate English children classic stories. With dramatized versions of these classic stories, I can first listen to the story and then read the book later, which is a wonderful experience. I have bought many mind's eye audio from Amazon.com, but Wind in the Willows is by far the best product they have offered. The dramatization stick closely to the original text, and the sound and voice effects are excellent, to say the least This version is far superior than the BBC version, which streches to far with the original story. A big thumb up for Mind's Eye

Summary: A Wonderful Book
Review: Kenneth Graham achieved a masterpiece with The Wind in the Willows. Please don't judge it on the basis of Disney's "Mr. Toad" cartoon; the book itself is lyrical and engaging, with fun characters in wonderful settings facing a number of thrilling adventures. Some scenes are purely down to earth, such as Mr. Toad's escapades with his beloved automobiles, and some are sheer magic, as the Piper at the Gates of Dawn chapter. Reading the musical Christmas chapter has become a holiday tradition in my family. This is truly a book that anyone can enjoy, a claim that is often made on the front covers of teen-market books but which rarely stands up to the promise. In this case I could read this book to my youngest and oldest child, and all three of us would be entranced.
