Review: Wait for the re-release of the ultimate edition DTS set.I cannot believe Universal are trying to sell this one disc Dolby Digital edition,but what baffles me more is the fact people are buying it!Just take a look at Universal's track record in this department for a moment;first it was The Mummy,followed by Nutty Professor II uncensored director's cut DTS,American Pie,Notting Hill,Meet Joe Black and Patch Adams. The last 4 titles do not deserve Ultimate Edition DTS re-releases.What is going to be next from Universal-The Ultimate Edition really really really uncensored version of Nutty Professor II?Why don't Universal release titles that deserve a DTS Ultimate edition,like The Frighteners.This great film has a pitiful DVD,while it was released on laserdisc in a Signature Selection box set. Universal,release your 2 disc sets first and research something known as customer satisfaction!

Summary: Special Effects overdone
Review: I liked the first movie. This one went way overboard on the special effects to the extent that it actually looks unrealistic. The mummy does not look in any way real in this movie. I was very dissapointed with the movie and the only reason I would even watch it again is to see the fight scene between the two women again.

Summary: Can't wait to own this DVD
Review: I own the first movie on DVD, besides of the great movie, it contains tons of educational facts.I saw the second movie and is outstanding. I can't wait for the DVD to be release so I can own this great movie plus all the extra goodies they put in the DVD. I gave it 5 stars even without owning it yet, because if the 1st DVD was excellent, this one is going to be lot better.

Summary: Too much excitement = just a touch of fun
Review: I have to say that I was really excited when this movie hit the theaters. I thought the first one was lacking a little in the storyline, but the second one came through with flying colors. I loved the special FX (effects) and loved the costumes. I recommend this movie to everyone, young and older.

Review: I have to say the first one was okay but when i saw the reviews for the 2nd one i hesitated to see it, you know how movies that have eposides aren't really the best, but this is so much better then the first one. yes they do seem to ignore their kid alot but this is full of action, some romance, sad parts, and scary, also comedy! If you haven't seen this then you are missing out! yes there is tons of Computer Animations but it is still very good and the scoripion king looks pretty fake when he becomes half scorpioin but still you MUST see it!

Review: Add me to the list of those who enjoyed both "Mummy" movies.I've seen The Mummy Returns twice,and I plan on getting the DVD as soon as it is available.The movie is meant to entertain,and that's exactly what it does.It's wonderful seeing much of the original cast back and seeing how they've developed over a span of 9 years.What's nice is that you don't have to see the original to be able to follow this movie,but if you DID see the original,the second one answers questions you may have had about the first one.Both of the female leads are gorgeous,and the men are all a pleasure to watch(where are the guys who look like that in real life?)The movie has lots of action,as well as comedy and romance.My kids and I really enjoyed this movie,as did my mother in law,who says she didn't think she'd like it,as she usually doesn't like action movies.You cheer for the good guys,but even the evil Imhotep is likable(hot too,as is Brendan Fraser!!!)I sincerely hope they make more of these movies,keeping the same cast.They have a wonderful chemistry,which makes everything work.

Summary: The Mummy Returns
Review: I loved this movie! Rick O'Connel is back in Egypt with his wife, Evi, and son, Alex. They find the bracelet of the Scorpian King, which awakens the mummy from the first movie. They are trying once again to get rid of him, but their son gets taken. Now they are trying to save the world and get their son back at the same time. Some others are trying to wake the Scorpian King (if they do, the armies of the Scropian King will defeat the world. The armies are HUGE!) There are tons of mummies, more shriveled human bodies, and more of those beetles. Also, you learn about Evi's past life and how it affects the story.

Review: When are the people at Universal going to stop trying to unload double (and sometimes triple!) releases of thier DVD titles? Only when consumers stop buying these double releases! Please Universal, stop treating us like stupid, mindless buyers and give us your final Ultimate Editions first. Stop throwing out tiny little morsels of things we might be able to see if we dish out another 25 bucks six months later for the same DVD we already own! Treat the people who pay your bills with a little more respect.

Summary: "THE MUMMY RETURNS" HITS THE GROUND RUNNING!!!
Review: This movie takes the characters from the first movie on an even grander journey! For those of you who hated "THE MUMMY", you're not getting either. Both movies are supposed to be simple. They're a throwback to "Raiders of the Lost Ark", that kind of thrill-a-minute action/adventure stuff that Saturday morning serials were made of. Each bit of action is 'supposed' to lead to the next, meaning: In the scene where Evie is stabbed by Meela/Anck-su-na-mun, that was supposed to be then end of one chapter of the serial which would lead to the next chapter. Rick, the hero, is supposed to then do what he can to resurrect his beloved, just like Imhotep from the first film. Oded Fehr playing 'Ardeth Bey' is clearly a 'good guy'. GO BACK AND WATCH THE FIRST MOVIE!!! These characters are flawed (a refreshing change). Jonathan (John Hannah) is 'supposed' to be the foulup he is (think Marcus Brody 'Raiders'). For me, both films reawakened my belief in movies. A good cast with wonderful characters to cheer for or boo at. My hope is for a third installment to wrap everything up as did 'Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade'. These movies are better than the Karloff pictures taking the old dried out 1932 movies to a new level. My kudos to all involved!!! For all who hated it, what is your idea of a good movie, 'Independence Day'? Or 'Air Force One' that should have stopped before the Mig fighters began attacking the plane!!! Both 'THE MUMMY' & 'THE MUMMY RETURNS' are just good clean fun!!!

Review: If you don't like the story but are interested in special effects, buy this DVD. I have the fist Mummy DVD and the special features are fantastic. The story is ok. Could be a little stronger but all in all its an enjoyable movie.
