Summary: The Car Lives!
Review: I've always been a car guy, and this movie just reinforces it. I first read the book when it came out in 1977, I was 11 or 12. Smokey and The Bandit was on the big screen, I was about 4 years from driving legally, and I could hardly wait. I have always been a huge George Barris fan as well, and swore that some day I would own a Batmobile replica or the real thing. I currently work in the movie industry and have two cars that I want to rent to production: a 67 Parisienne 2+2 Convertible and a 72 Cutlass Supreme Convertible. That aside, more about the movie: The cinematography was incredible for 1977, but the Director needed a helping hand. Too many shots were either sped up for effect or cut short, thereby eliminating suspense and mystery. More background on the car itself should have been displayed, as well as condensing the story line to include fewer people. I think the plot was lost in too many sub-plots that teased the viewer into thinking there was more of a story line than was actually there. The fact that the ending was left wide open for a sequal was lost to all but the most avid viewers. Then again, in the 70's we had The Omen series to deal with, so maybe it's time for a re-make. I would like to be a huge part of that if anyone is thinking of doing it! Just send me an email if you're in Toronto!

Review: I am very happy that I found this movie to order it, I have been looking for it in video stores for so long now, I remember when the movie first came out back in 1977, I saw it in the theater three times in a row and I also got to see it on television a couple of times, The movie the car is so intence and I just love the way it honks it's horn and the engine sounds like it is really high performance for racing, Also it looks like there is a face in the head lights, I also think that it's cool that it don't have any door handles and it's got bullet proof tires,Not firestones thats for sure, I'd like to own the Car Itself,Great Movie.

Summary: Excellent suspense horror flick.
Review: The Car appealed to me because I'm always after a rare movie and this one was very hard to track down. This thrilling, action packed film is a 'must see movie' for fans who enjoyed similar movies such as Duel and Christine. It keeps you in suspense and with hardly a dull moment. A small flaw would be the lack of visual killing scenes. Other than that I definitely enjoyed it and I'm sure you would too.

Summary: One of the BEST suspense movies I've ever seen
Review: I haven't seen this movie since the 80's, but I remember seeing it several times during then. I first saw it just a few years after it's release, before I was even 10. Scared the hell out of me! I was DEATHLY afraid of that car. Even now, well over 20 years later, I still love it. I would like to own it someday. While some reviewers have told some of the best scenes, I'll just leave that out for those who haven't seen it yet. I can definitely say kids will probably get scared over it. It might even give them nightmares. That car is VERY creepy and the sounds it makes...oh my god. Terrific job with the car and the suspense. If you are a fan of suspense movies, you'll love this! VERY GOOD MOVIE! And FULL of suspense.

Review: THE CAR IS MY MOST FAVORITE MOVIE EVER MADE.I WISH THEY WOULD RELEASE THE 2HR.15MIN.R RATED VERSION OF THIS FILM.BECAUSE I HAVE ONLY SEEN IT ONCE WHEN IT FIRST CAME OUT AND I'D REALLY ENJOY HAVING IT IN MY DVD COLLECTION. I HAVE THE 96 MIN. PG VERSION BUT I'D RATHER HAVE THE R RATED VERSION IF POSSIBLE I WOULD LIKE AMAZON TO FIND A WAY TO GET THE R RATED VERSION SOMEDAY SO I CAN OWN IT ON DVD.

Summary: What Evil Drives The Car? ...........ME!
Review: This movie is responsible for my HUGE obsession with the Lincoln Continental. I remember seeing this film when I was eight years old...loved it then and love it now. It's by no means a "great" movie, but as whacky scary movies go, it definetly holds its own. I own a '66 Lincoln, but now that I have finally got a chance to see it again, (after 20 years) I am now bulding a replica of the dreaded CAR! A movie well worth seeing, so get some popcorn and enjoy the ride!

Summary: A One-In-A-Million Thriller Movie
Review: I'm suprised that ANYONE could put this movie down. In the world of movies about cars, this ranks as one of the all-time champions. My wife and I very frequently play on the line "there was no driver in the car", with there was no ______ in the _____. Also, the cops say that the car has "self-sealing tires" (after a point-blank 10-guage shotgun blast???? a 10-guage can shoot through an engine block!). I love the sound of that car horn, I will never forget that sound. And I like the way the car door opened slightly and knocked the state trooper down, hehehehe. Also, the car sometimes gets mad and takes off REALLY FAST, What a GREAT FLICK!!! Buy it! Buy it! NOW!

Summary: Mr. Barbara Streisand vs. The Satanic Auto
Review: A movie so bad it begs for the Mystery Science Theatre treatment. Just consider the following: Mr. Barbara Streisand as a small town sheriff, Kathleen Lloyd, with a voice more irritating than Jennifer Tilly's, as the town's most beloved teacher, Ronny Cox as a spineless alcoholic, R.D. Armstrong as a wife-beating boor and a 1965 Lincoln with tinted windows as Satan. Yes, the perfect formula for one absurdly bad, but amusing film. Satan, er, I mean the 1965 Lincoln, comes to town and immediately runs over and over and over and over John Rubinstein, and then it really gets serious. This car/Satan hates everybody. But, if like me, you'll find yourself cheering on the Lincoln, especially when it leaves the ground (yes, you read that correctly) to travel through Kathleen Lloyd's kitchen. This movie is truly a hoot. I never understood why there was never a "The Car, Part 2". Enjoy the road.

Summary: Strange Bedfellows
Review: One of the silliest, most intense, mystifying, and intoxicating movies I have ever seen. I bought this for my daughter (who is now 33), but I enjoy it as much as she does. We have been looking for this movie for a long time. It is so-o-o bad in places..., but it is so-o-o good as a horror flick. I could never imagine (at the time of release) a possessed mechanical device, but it works, and as I read the reviews, I am happy that I am not the only totally demented fan in the world.
