Summary: Good sequel, too fast a pace though!
Review: The Mummy Returns, Indeed! This movie not only did the first Stephen Sommer's original Mummy movie justice, by revisting the past: of ancient Egypt; but gave each character that returned more growth that entertained throughout. My only problem with this movie is that the pace was so fast that the characters didn't interact with each other as well as they did in the first film. Also some of the actor's reactions to a situation, like in the end where we see Jonathan holding Alex, where was the emotions from Jonathan. By the way, I thought The Rock did an great job in his limited role. Critics say his facial expressions were all wrong during his few minutes, which is total nonsense in my opinion. So I say that if you see only one movie this summer, then go see The Mummy Returns!

Summary: Lazy and incomplete
Review: A sorry effort where even much of the special effects seem unfinished. Preposterous leaps of logic in story line. Interesting characters in the first movie watered down into dull-acting formulas in this sequel.

Summary: The Mummy Kicks
Review: This was a great well thoughtout sequel to the 2000 release of The Mummy. The computer graphics were incrediable. Breden Fraiser and Rachel Weisz did a great job acting as parents and they still had there love thing going on. The bonus of this movie is Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson who was in my opinion a great person to be The Scorpion King. This movie wont let you down.

Summary: Sequel equal to original
Review: Finally we get a sequel that is just as good, if not better than the original movie. The action is great and the effects wonderful.

Summary: The Mummy Returns
Review: I thought this movie was awesome...I definitely have got to have it when it comes out on video! I liked it so much I wanted to learn more on Egyptian hieroglyphics as well as ancient Egyptian history. The effects were amazing! The actors were priceless! It was funny too! If they ever come out with a third I'll definitely be sure to watch it!

Summary: A whole new meaning of the term "Mad dog."
Review: First of all, DON'T SEE THIS IF YOU HAVN'T SEEN THE FIRST ONE! There are a lot of jokes about "repeted scenes" For example, the main character's son asks "What's this last symple? It looks like a stork!" I'm so glad I watched the first one for the third time the night before I saw this. There aren't as many bugs in this one, but there are just enough dogs to make up for it. Dogs? No, I don't mean poodles. I don't mean pittbulls either. I mean...well...I've never seen the breed before. I dought thy're purebred. You'll see what I mean.

Summary: Best adventure movie since Indiana Jones!
Review: This is certainly The best adventure movie since the great Indiana Jones trilogy. And I would like to say to Rachel: YOU ARE THE MOST BEAUTIFUL WOMEN IN THE WORLD!!! The action never stops and the humour is perfect! If you are a fan of the 1999 mummy film (like me) you'll really gonna like this one!

Summary: Unfortunately the critics were right ...
Review: ... I loved the first movie - The Mummy. The special effects were fantastic, the characters were interesting, funny and real, and the story line was interesting. Unfortunately, the second movie appears to have been designed by a committee of marketing folks with too many focus groups. There are too many different elements to make a coherent movie.

For example:

- the charming batter between Brendan Fraser and Rachel Wiesz has been replaced by nauseating declarations of love for each other and their son.

- in the Mummy, excellent special effects served complemented and enhanced a credible plot. In the sequel the special effects replaced the plot.

- attempts at consistent characterizations are completely gone. Rachel Wiesz's soul transforms from the reincaration of the mummy's lost love (the Mummy) into her mortal enemy (the Mummy returns). Odedth Bay's uncompromising desert warrior is suddenly willing to drop his life's purpose of keeping the Mummy from tormenting the earth in order help Brendan Fraser's son.

My pet peeve - rocket powered sailing balloonships that magically regenerate after being smashed to bits. Does the director think all of his moviegoers are idiots?

Too bad. The actors are first rate and the original movie was amazing. Let's hope that the studio can redeem itself with the third movie.

Summary: Good Mindless Summer Fun
Review: Having just seen Lara Croft (only because Chris Barrie is in it and maybe for a gravity defying scene or two) 2 days after seeing the Mummy Returns I really appreciated a good summer movie that didn't take itself too seriously - much like the original. The pacing is great - so you dont have to get too hung up over the plot, the little kid isn't annoying like most kids are in the movies and you definetly get your money's worth with fight scenses and special effects. Face the fact's - it's summer time and this move beats the hell out of the insipid Pearl Harbor, is more fun than Lara Croft and despite huge plot holes you know who the good guys are unlike Swordfish. And when you mind turns into too much mush you can always rent something serious on a sunday night.
