Summary: This movie ROCKS!!!
Review: One of the rare examples of a sequel being better than the original. This was one of James Cameron's early opportunities to prove that he is a brilliant filmmaker. This movie is as suspensful as it gets. Though the special effects were incredible by 1986 standards, the real feat of Aliens is that the human characters are believable and full of humanity (well most of them.) The scenes cut for theatrical release are not just dead time. Seeing the theatrical cut of Aliens after seeing the uncut 156 min version made me see the holes in it and just leaves me unsatisfied. I am thrilled that the "real" version will be released on DVD.

Summary: Party at my house
Review: This is the special edition of the Aliens movie with all the really cool stuff that was left out of the VHS version. When it comes out I will have a party at my house in Northeastern PA, let me know if you can make it.

Summary: The BEST Alien Flick Of All Time!
Review: The first time I saw "Aliens" I loved it! I used to watch it over and over when I was younger. It was the most action packed sci-fi thriller I had ever seen and haven't seen and alien movie yet that compares. The monster design by the late H.R.Giger was the most oringinal alien design. Put that together with an awesome cast and director. You can't beat it! James Cameron is arguably the greatest movie director ever. I would have to say if there is ever a better alien movie than "Aleins" Cameron would probably be directing it!

Summary: This is the real "Aliens"
Review: If you haven't seen "Aliens the directors cut" see it. Because this is the real "Aliens". I wonder why anyone ever had the guts to cut out all these important scenes. The scenes that are included in the directors cut explains all those small things that could not be explained in the normal version. Example: There where about 600 terraformers on the planet when the mothership was found. And you'll have to asume that they were all used as "mothers" for Aliens. That means that there are around 600 Aliens on the planet (and that's alot). You only see the soldiers kill approx. 10-15 Aliens when they first encouter them, and in the end they are only attacked by approx. 20 Aliens. What happend to the rest of them (about 500 Aliens, quite deadly if I should say). Well in the normal version they are just gone (perhaps on a picnic or something), but in the directors cut you see what happens to them (a cute scene). That is why the directors cut is the real Aliens because you see alot of new things, small stuff here and there, but it is all this "small stuff" that makes the movie complete.

Summary: I have never seen a better scifi/action movie.
Review: This is the best sequel ever made. The special effects and musical score are excellent. Plenty of memorable lines. And we see a weasel of a politician get what he deserves.

Summary: This is the Special Edition
Review: Your right! this is the special edition, the full uncut 154 minutes that we rarely saw here in the USA. It has the Century Guns in it and the a scene of LV-426 when the aliens were discovered. Goto Fox's web page for more details, but it is the uncut version. In addition it has theatrical trailers, behind the scenes actor interviews. I cant wait for it to come out! Come on June 1st!

Summary: Why it took so long?
Review: I have seen the director's cut of aliens and I liked it. Although I felt that some scenes should of been in the final cut; I was glad that most of the weren't. If you are a big fan of ALIEN movies as I am get the director's cut today.

Summary: This is the Special Edition
Review: This should be the Special Edition, since it's running time is 154 minutes. It should have all the stuff that they made Cameron cut out (like the relationship between Ripley and Hicks, the colonists finding the aliens, the ultimately cool "sentinel guns" and whole lot more). This should be the same version that was released in the UK and similar to a version that was shown on TV a few years back.

If this is indeed the Special/UK version, then it automatically gets five stars. I'd give it six if I could.

I hate using the word "should" a lot, but there's no way to tell for sure. All I know is that the running time extactly matches that of the UK version. I couldn't dig any info up about this DVD release on the Net. If anyone has some details, send them my way.

Summary: WOW! THE EXTRA SCENES ARE AWSOME
Review: Aliens is a great movie. Exciting, fast-paced, Cameron's excellent directing and writing really shine here.

The widescreen is great (Though I do wish that cameron had filmed it in 2.35:1 instead if 1.85:1), The picture clear and shard (As only THX can do), and the packedging is awsome.

My advice, get this immediatly when its released (I got my copy ahead of time from 20th Century Fox(Not at liberty to say how)). Get this movie. Its great.

Summary: Totally Awsome!!!
Review: If you have not seen this Special Edition version, you are missing out! It has many new scenes that are well deserved to be in the final cut.
