This is the worst sound quality of any DVD I have ever purchased. The audio sounds as though you're hearing it wearing ear plugs under water.

Summary: Actually, It Isn't Bad!
Review: I suppose the best way to begin is show you where I stand. I thought the Lugosi version was decent. (3 stars) I thought the Stoker book was a decent read. (3 stars). I thought the Frank Langella version (1979) was a phenomenal masterpiece. (Beyond 5 stars!) I did NOT like the Gary Oldman version at all. Well, now to the subject at hand. In all honesty, this marked down more obscure flick isn't so bad. To be sure, some things like character development are lacking, and it's more of a 70s horror flick as opposed to a deep intense gothic representation of the actual book by Stoker. And you can't quite expect the superb acting of Frank Langella, Laurence Olivier, Treveor Eve, Kate Nelligan, and Donald Pleasance. But all of that aside, it really isn't so bad. There is some suspense....The scenery reflects a decent 70s style....The story is strange, but acceptable....and Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing handle the roles with some success. The movie is moderately scarey, and it does not rely on excess blood. (In my opinion, good horror revolves more around suspense.) The final confrontation does lack a certain climatic quality. (But in all honesty, we could accuse the Lugosi version of the same thing.)Christopher Lee isn't exactly Frank Langella, but he does a decent job. Peter Cushing isn't exactly Laurence Olivier, but he really does put some honest work and effort into the role. In all honesty, the cast of unknowns did a fairly good job. To be sure, it is not exactly an over the top masterpiece. But on the other hand, it was a good horror movie with decent scenery, some good acting, some suspense, and a decent story. I found this marked down to $1. Seeing that this is less than even a single movie ticket, it really is worth giving a chance! My advice is, buy this obscure and underrated horror movie.! Certainly this is worth a couple of dollars! And if you want to see the best, pick up Frank Langella and Laurence Olivier's "Dracula" (1979)!!! Side note: If you want to see Peter Cushing in a classic, he does Osric in Laurence Olivier's "Hamlet."
