Summary: Put It On A DVD and I will Buy It!
Review: This is not the funniest of Mel Brook's many movies but when I watched it on cable I enjoyed it and thought it had some funny silly gags and think this would be a good movie to watch when you just need a good silly laugh after a bad day or something but it would even be good to watch on a good day too.

I would buy this movie but I only want a DVD and I wonder why it's not available yet on DVD but until then I will wait as since we have a DVD player I no longer buy my movies on video.

Summary: I still like it
Review: I love vampire movies of any kind. This one is a great comic relief because where other movies involving Dracula [trying to] scare ... you this one tries to kill you by insufficient amounts of oxygen reaching your lungs(you'll be laughing so hard).

It is just a shame that this movie will never be compared with "Blazing Saddles" or "Young Frankenstien". It was also a shame that this was the last movie Mel Brooks directed.

My favorite part of course is the scean with Jonathan Harper and the three Vampire girls.
"This is wrong get away"
"No No No, Yes Yes this is right!!"

Review: This is a great funny movie! You can't help but smile and laugh at all the silly gags, it is what I call dry humor, takes a certain personality to appreciate it. But I love it!!

Summary: One of the best comedy's ever!
Review: To be honest with you, when I fiest saw this I was leaning towards turning the channel. But as I watched on, I saw just how funny Lessie Nelson and Mel Brooks was. Mel Brooks has always been one of my favorite comedy directors. Seeing this movie actually lifted my spirits to relizing not all vampire movies are suppose to be horror. They can be comedy too! You rock Mel Brooks!... ^¿^

Summary: This is a really funny movie!
Review: This is a really funny movie. With the guy that plays Yonosh on Ghostbusters 2 it is really funny. I like the part where he looks up the girls skirt and gets caught and says, "I didn't see anything!" And when he's in his cell saying, "I saw everything."

Summary: one of mel brook's worse
Review: some people compare this to Young Frankenstein. Other than both being horror spoofs there is no comparison. The movie is a parody of the then recently releaded horror Bram Stokers Dracula. Leslie Nielson now has found his niche as a comedic actor. He is good as the infamous count. But, unfortunatley this movie is very heavy handed on the horror and more vulgar than most of Mel Brook's Movies. Young Frankenstein was far superior.

Summary: Tastes like chicken, eh, Renfield???
Review: Leslie Nielsen, Peter MacNicol, et al may not be brilliant in this film, but they are hilarious and most entertaining! A truly zany spoof on the Bram Stoker classic, "Dracula: Dead and Loving It" is also reasonably accurate for those who know the more serious work.

If you are a vampirophile or "literary snob," then you are not likely to enjoy this - save your time and money. On the other hand, those who are looking for some light-hearted humor with a slightly sinister twist, and perhaps even vampire aficionados with a sense of humor will really enjoy this.

Great movie for the Autumn season / Halloween, too!

Summary: This Film Wasn't Released, It Escaped
Review: I love Mel Brooks' films. I have seen them all and watch my favorites (Young Frankenstein, Blazing Saddles, High Anxiety, Producers) several times a year. I went to Dracula the day it opened and walked out before it finished - demanding and getting my money back. A complete waste of the talents of some truly funny comedians. I expectd a "High Anxiety" tour de force from Harvey Korman and the perfect timing and deadpan delivery of Naked Gun from Nielson. Instead I saw two great professionals struggeling desperately with third rate material. I'm sorry that there is no way to give zero stars. Certainly the worst movie Mel's ever made and among the worst made in recent memory. If anyone but Brooks made this film, it would have gone directly to video. In vamipre terms, this film sucks.

Summary: Dracula as Only Mel Brooks Can . . .
Review: It's a Mel Brooks movie starring Leslie Nielsen so you KNOW you're headed for a good time! Nielsen plays Dracula in this spoof on the classic tale. Dracula here is bungling and comedic . . . right down to making a fool of himself at a dance. He decides to start showing off at a ball . . . not realizing that they have moved mirrors into the room and everybody can see his partner floating across the floor by herself in them, since Dracula casts no reflection. This movie is top-notch comedy whether or not you're a fan of vampire films. I'd recommend it to anybody!

Summary: Dracula: Dead and Loving It
Review: Brooks has given us a loving and respectful homage to the classic Dracula. It's not a bawdy satire like Young Frankenstein. Indeed, Brooks is a good Van Helsing, and plays the role seriously. Neilsen is a great Count Dracula: sexy as the demon lover, and playful while in goof mode. Don't expect to howl with laughter. Brooks does get involved in the details, and it shows. It's a fun remake, and deserves to be viewed on its own terms.
