Summary: Good job!
Review: Congratulations to the Shock o Rama Cinema production company! Suburban Nightmare is an example of independent cinema at its most effective. It is a very low budget, straight to video effort, that was obviously shot in and around somebody's house, yet achieves a lot. It is admittedly an art movie intended for a niche audience, yet the dialogue, story, and acting are arguably better than your typical Hollywood offering. The story describes one long evening in the life of a thirtyish white middle class suburban couple. The wife is a recovering alcoholic who has been on the wagon for over a year since she was involved in a very serious auto accident while driving drunk and which resulted in serious injury to their approximately 10 year old daughter. She very much wants to have another child but the husband isn't too keen on the idea. They argue and fight about this constantly. Their lives are greatly complicated by the fact that they are also thrill killers and ghoulish gourmets who have become accustomed to getting their jollies by murdering people and then occasionally using some select parts of their victims as ingredients in their cuisine. It isn't as corny as that sounds. This movie is a lot like the 70s cult movie Eating Raoul, for those of you who are familiar with it, except that I think that this one is much better. The wife also has strong lesbian tendencies and they have a terrified captive teenage girl which they keep chained nearly naked in the basement that the wife often torments when she is angry. While reasonably attractive, the couple is pretty ordinary. The husband is kind of small and scrawny while the wife is a robust tomboy, so that they are pretty evenly matched physically. This comes into play when their fighting becomes more physical. The action is non-stop like a play and the dialogue is incredibly real. This movie works for me.

Summary: A Beautiful love story
Review: I was torn between giving this 3 or 4 stars. I liked how morbid the movie was. My beef with the movie is it was very slow in parts and the flash backs were silly and only stalled the predictable ending. They could have done more with it. Not a bad movie though

**note to those reading the title of this review, i was being sarcastic (incase you are that thick)

Summary: Great Flick! Better Than Expected!
Review: This movie was WAY better than I was expecting. I am a big fan of B Horror movies, but this is one that took me totally by surprise! The acting was very good as was the entire story. A little predictable towards the end, but who cares? It doesn't take away from the story at all and I was pleasantly surprised at the turn at the end. Very good movie and I rate it very highly. Just bought it tonight and I can't wait to watch it again! It's certainly not the "slasher" or Gory movie that the cover might make you think it is. It's a well thought out production, with a terrific cast and a superb story. It's been a while since a horror movie has come along that could satisy me the way this movie does. I hope this helps....

Summary: WOW! Much Better than I expected!!!!
Review: To tell you the truth, I was expecting just another low budget cheap horror film (which I don't mind), but I was pleasently surprised with the acting, story line and the entire film. It even had twist and turns I didn't expect! And although its a horror, I would catch myself laughing at some of the odd situations this couple would end up in! I loved it and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a "not your average horror film" kind of movie!

Summary: one of the best from shock-o-rama cinema
Review: Where screaming dead fell flat suburban nightmare picks up. From the trailer I expected this movie to be a dark spoof of romantic comedies that your girlfriends usually drags you in to watch. I was wrong. The movie has an ultra serious tone. There is some humor now and again but this mostly domestic disturbances to the nth degree. It's a bit of a social statement abou the stresses of marriage and the power struggle between man and wife. The ending is predictable but still leaves you guessing. There are some twists that are revealed during the climax. The dvd also feautures some short films and a music video.

Summary: WOW! Much Better than I expected!!!!
Review: Wow. I'm a little floored here. First, I'd caught Screaming Dead, thought that was pretty good. This is the second release from the same studio and I really have to say this may well raise the benchmark for direct-to-video horror (Troma and Full Moon may have to deal with a new sheriff in town). I decided to risk my cash on what I thought could be an interesting one joke of a movie, and was very surprised. The cast obviously has some stage work, because the characters they create are not, well, lazy... The Rosenblads are not an easy pair to bring to life, but Trent Haaga (who seems to be groomed up a bit Buscemi-esque) and Brandy Little are entirely believable (ulp!) as... well... just picture Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf done with powertools and cutlery. For those out there wanting to see something that isn't another slasher/dead teenager flick, this one is for you!! One of the year's best for me... Keep up the good work, eicinema!
