Summary: Alberto Sciamma's Killer Tongue
Review: Looking at the video box, you might think this is going to be another spoof of those silly 1950's horror films involving radiation poisoned giant animals. You are so wrong.

In a nutshell, a meteor crashes to earth and a chunk is ingested by a former nun waiting for her boyfriend to be released from prison. Her tongue grows to about ten feet long, and eventually talks to her. Hijinks of the most offensive order ensue.

This is such an off the wall surreal nightmare that you must see it to believe it. So many scenes can only be mentioned by their generic names but watch out for the port-a-potty scene, the bathtub scene, the confessional scene, and the super glue scene.

This somehow escaped with an (R) rating. It has a lot of material that kids should not see, but this is also one of the funniest films out there. My one small complaint is that I could not get this in letterbox version, on the TV screen it really suffers. Robert Englund, as the prison director, gives a better performance here than in all the "A Nightmare on Elm Street" films combined. He shows that his acting genius does not have to include fright makeup, and he should be allowed to do more of these over the top horror comedies. The entire cast looks like they were having a lot of fun here, and it rubs off on the viewer in the right mood. Rent it now!

This is (R) for strong physical violence, gun violence, sexual violence, strong gore, strong profanity, some male nudity, sexual content, strong sexual references, and strong adult situations.

Summary: Humorous take on horror
Review: This film is somewhat silly and pointless, but it does have Melinda Clarke from Return of the Living Dead 3. Englunds appearance isnt all what i expexted it to be, but the film definately has its moments. This movie was made 3 or 4 years ago, and finally it is being released to video! Very talked about in the underground scene, where my taste for videos seem to lurk.

Summary: Super cool and super freaky!
Review: This movie is absolutely crazy! I loved it! It had a moment of boringness :) in the middle somewhere, that's why I gave it 4 stars, but once the tongue started talking it was hilarious! It had so many absurd and freaky things going on! My kind of horror/comedy!

Summary: Something Wild
Review: Wild barely begins to describe this film. It's as though Tarrentino was directing some alternative version of Repo Man on acid. It's a crazy yarn about a guy and his girl who pull a heist with two other guys whom they double cross as soon as the heist is complete. The guy then turns himself in to do some minor time but not give up the booty, while his girl joins a nunnery to wait for him. The story really takes off a few days before his scheduled release. She leaves the nunnery, but while making preparations for his homecoming, a strange "meteorite" hits the earth and all hell breaks loose. Her body is ivaded by an alien who manifests itself in the form of a free-thinking, massive tongue that causes her (and most around her) a great deal of consternation. This flick takes every nutzoid turn possible. Viewers are confronted by a gay prison warden ( played by Robert Englund in what might be his best role), poodles who are transformed into foppish male compainions to the heroine, more garish colors than you can shake a stick at and just about any other visual and auditory assault you can imagine. Killer Tongue is directed with a lot of spirit and energy. It's willingness to take chances (and more chances) keeps the viewer howling on the edge of his or her seat. It all might be too much. I was somewhat exhausted when it was all over. But it's a romping good time. There are few if any insights here and certainly no cure for cancer, but it offers that shot in the arm that is rarely found in Hollywood mainsrtream films. If on-the-edge cinema is your poison, this should fill your bottle nicely.
