Summary: Save your money
Review: I purchased a two disc "box set" of Dark Stories 1 & 2 for [a low price]. The first story on the first disc was actually quite good. A dinner where a human being is murdered for the diner's entertainment. It was very good, very edgy, and featured a male frontal nudity (if you're interested.) Unfortunately, it was downhill from there as the rest of the stories featured neither supernatural overtones nor the twilight-zonesque feel of the first. They were simply artistic/experimental. Great for the Sundance channel, but not for me. There was full frontal female nudity in the third story(if your interested.) I didn't watch the Dark Stories 2, because the first one gave me a headache.

Summary: Not so Dark Stories
Review: Some of the stories are good but for the most part the whole DVD was not worth the money. I love scary, dark stories, but this DVD was misleading with it's title. The stories are more strange than scary or dark. If I could I'd return this DVD and get my money back.

Summary: You have to see this movie
Review: This was quite a suprise. I knew absolutely nothing about this movie. It was not long within the first story that I found myself entranced. This collection of horror stories is anything but typical. The title is very misleading. I thought it would be a collection of gory horror stories involving zombies, ghosts, vampires and the like. What I found instead was artistic and beautiful, morbid, even containing sexual tones. I cannot begin to give the actors the credit they deserve. So caught in the characters they play it was hard to distinguish them as fiction. If you are a fan of the highly unusual this is what you have been looking for. Not for the easliy disturbed. This twisted poetry tells tales of a restaurant where its customers attend for an exceptional meal and a show of death. Another visionly beautiful tale is of a women and her rose filled life. There is an almost Twilight Zone feel to the fishman. The dark stories provoke emotions that range from weakness, to hatred, the bizarre, to sadness. Take a trip in a car with two raging strangers. Experience the silent and lonely woman who finds a soldier. Each one haunting and unexpected. Truly a unique experience for the mind. I was introduced to the movie by accident, which is usualy how exceptional things come my way. I tend to be a very difficult person to please and want you to know this immediately becaome one of my favorites.
