Summary: Excellent quality DVD for the price
Review: I bought this DVD because I already loved Night Of The Living Dead, and I was curious about Carnival, never having seen that one before. There are numerous editions of NOTLD available, but some are more costly and have only that movie on it. This particular disc has one movie on each side. The video quality of Night OF..is very good, limited film artifacts and crisp and well-defined black and white image. The sound is (of course) in mono, but it is like that even on the more pricier versions, however, and is still very clear sounding. Good Times did this classic a great service by making this classic sound and look great. Thank you .
Carnival Of Souls, however, did not fair so well. The video isnt all that bad. There are some visual artifacts and it does get slightly fuzzy in a few places...nothing to really take any veiwing pleasure away, though. The sound is obviously dubbed in places, mainly in the beginning; I am not sure if other releases of this film have the same dubbing since this is the first time that I've seen it. But, other than the one scene with the less-than-great dialogue, the sound quality is good. For what they are asking for the movie, this is basically a steal. Two great classics for one low price...you can't go wrong!
