Summary: ...
Review: ...The premise starts out good enough - Four modern day kids loving life, drinking, driving, all of a sudden get in a fatal car crash. Two of the group get their souls collected by the soultakers while the hero and heroine manage to avoid capture.

The Soultaker uses this rubber "O" ring set in the palm of the hand to extract an individual's soul. From there, it goes into his jacket pockeet for safekeeping.

The acting, at best, is that of a high school drama. The sets: a county fair and a dark hospital with no one working...

Summary: Oddly unforgettable
Review: 11 years passed and suddenly I remembered bits and pieces of a movie where a supernatural entity was collecting souls. I could remember a clock, an elevator and a car crash but for the life of me couldn't think of the title. So I logged onto IMDB.com and used power search and finally found what I was looking for. This film went straight to video but I PROMISE you it's worth checking out. Anyone who likes the "race against time" theme combined with a little humor and some cool special effects will undoubtedly find this film a keeper.

Summary: 1991 Saturn Award Winner
Review: A flurry of copycat major studio features were clearly inspired by Schilling's 1991 "Best Picture" on video Sci-Fi Academy award... "CITY OF ANGELS" being the most visible, and "THE PROPHESY" being the most blatant. Even the current "SIXTH SENSE" borrows from Schilling's concept of inter-dimensional communications with the dead. While "Soultaker" clearly suffers from a low budget, the concept in 1991 was totally fresh, and the execution surprisingly competent. According to the SCI-FI Channel, "Soultaker" holds the top rated position for Planetary Premieres, and was the most requested encore broadcast. However, not even the hugely popular "Soultaker" could save the dying MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER, when the SCI-FI Channel was scrambling to invigorate the ratings of that now extinct dinosaur. In another 10 years, "SOULTAKER" will likely be widely recognized for it's introduction of a new category of films: the super-natural genre' involving death-angels and interdimensional communications. Schilling should be proud. However, viewers with <100 I.Q.'s will probably prefer the staged antics of W.W.F. Wrestling, and probably won't "get" what Schilling so skillfully presents in this debut film of hers. Watch it and you'll agree!

Summary: Better on "Mystery Science Theater"
Review: A guy from the wrong side of the tracks and the mayors daughter are the only survivors of a car wreck. Or are they? Charlie Sheen's brother and the guy from the Maniac Cop movies follow the teen couple around after-hours Alabama before the teens can get their souls back into their bodies at the hospital. There is more pointless running away than in a "Halloween" knock-off, and the villains aren't scary, they're just a couple of dorky middle-aged guys looking for an acting job. ANY acting job. Much better when viewed "Mike & the Bots-Style" with plenty of insults hurled at the screen!

Summary: Joe Estevez should have been in Spawn.
Review: Ahh! Soultaker. A bad movie? Sure! But not terrible. The value of this little cinematic jewel comes forth when you see it in a group (perhaps at a party or something). Then everyone can take turns and riff the movie, the actors, the editors, the director etc. It's good clean harmless fun. Afterwards you can all play frisbee with the DVD or if you bought the VHS version you can take appart the cassette and use the tape to play jump rope.

Summary: emilio's uncle
Review: c'mon! this movie is great! it stars emilio estevez' uncle. how could it not be great? it is also one of the best mike MST 3Ks. i'm sure joe et al were not serious when making this movie, and would not want any of us to take it seriously. just have fun with it!

Summary: A noble effort for a novice screenwriter, but no cigar.
Review: Come on. A Tonya Harding and John Stamos look alike are paired together. Combined with a coke addict preparing for a huge comb-over and Joe Estevez, this movie is horrible. I mean, does Joe Estevez star in anything? With film credits like Werewolf, how can ANYTHING star him? Vivian Schilling tried to write a brilliant screenplay, but it lost its edge somewhere in the process. The only good thing about this movie was the side-splitting commentary on MST3K, I can in no manner recommend this film, for any reason.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Truly unique and original
Review: Film suffers from an obvious low budget, but the script and concept are better than most "big-budget" films, and is notable for its originality and insights.

Summary: HA!
Review: I didn't think movies could be so silly. MST3K had a hysterical version of this movie... unless you're watching with your funny friends, avoid this poor excuse for a student film.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: it deserves a remake
Review: i rented this film over ten years ago not knowing anything about it and it has stucked in my mind until this day because of some very facinating and interesting ideas. But the main problem with this film is either that it wasn't directed be a masterful director or it was a very fast shoot because of it's small budget.Of course, joe estevez wouldn't have been my first choice
for the role but neither was the annoying bad ghost actor in GHOST and look how successful that film was! Some of SOULTAKER's themes have been explored recently in SOUL SURVIVORS but the result was an even worst movie then this one!SOULTAKER was a movie with such potential that it's simply screaming out for a remake.
