Summary: Great film, horrible DVD
Review: !Heather's teenage son!

The film

The author of my favorite horror film of all time, Wishmaster, helped with this great Hellraiser film. This was the film that got me into the series. I got it for Christmas of 03 and I love it. The plot is very good, even though Pinhead isn't as creepy as he is in part 1. The acting is okay, though definately not great. Doug Bradley is amazing as Pinhead though! I reccomend this film to fans of the series and horror fans in general!

The DVD

There are NO special features what-so-ever and the film doesn't even have very good picture quality. I can't believe I'm saying this, but get the VHS instead.

Summary: Hellraiser 3: Hell On Earth (1992) d: Hickox, Anthony
Review: 'There is no good, and no evil, only flesh. ...Shall we Begin'. The third movie in the Hellraiser series, has Clive Barker's evil 'Lament Configuration Puzzle Box' appearing as dark decoration hanging along side a Joe Coleman painting, at an underground punk / metal bar called 'The Boiler Room'. After a local punk kid is ripped apart by many hooked chains; taken to the hospital to later explode, a reporter is hot on the story.. She finds a goth girl named Terri, who trades information for a place to stay. It seems that Terri has stolen the pandora's box from the club, and later she releases Pinhead from the statue that he is encased in. Pinhead with his Cenobites are free to roam the Earth in a rampage. Each of the Cenobites are based on the single defining characteristic of the person that they had been in life. The reporters cameraman becomes "Camerahead". The DJ from the nightclub shoots CDs, for his weapon of choice, and the former bartender mixes deadly flaming drinks. After a vicious street battle and the destruction of a church, the reporter tricks Pinhead into entering her dream limbo, between heaven and hell. Once there Pinhead's former self 'Captain Elliot Spenser' helps the reporter send Pinhead back to hell. Even though this disc has four minutes cut from it [What kind of Special Edition is that??, they could have also included the Clive Barker documentary which was included on many of the original paramount VHS tapes], many choice scenes include a prostitute who has her skin ripped from her body, and a whole nightclub full of patrons being torn to bits. Better than part 2, not as good as the original. Metalheads should be on the lookout for a cameo from eighties thrashers Armored Saint. Motorhead also do the theme song, and have Hellraiser related merchandise collectors should be on the lookout for.

Summary: An Different Sequel to Hellraiser.
Review: An Ambitious T.V. Reporter Joey Summerskill (Terry Farrell) come across with the Story of a Life-Time, which a Club Owner-J.P. Monroe (Kevin Bernhardt) bought a large sculpture, which there`s a Puzzle Box stuck inside. Once someone has Open the Puzzle Box, the leader of the Cenebities-named Pinhead (Doug Bradley) comes out of the Sculpture by needing blood. Then he`s going to roam the Earth in a Rampage of Death and Destruction. Only Joey has learned the secert and she will try to sent Pinhead back to Hell forever.

Directed by Anthony Hickox (Full Eclipse) made a entertaining Sequel to the Cult Series-Hellraiser, which this one is very different that the another two films. This was a modest success in theaters and this has great Special Make-Up/Visual Effects. Farrell and Paula Marshall are the attractive woman in the film. Farrell is best know for the Hit T.V. Show-CBS`s Becker. DVD`s has an good Pan & Scan (1.33:1) transfer and an fine Dolby Stereo 2.0 Surround Sound. This film is exective produced by Clive Barker (Hellraiser, Lord of Illusions, Night Breed). Written by Peter Atkins (Hellbound:Hellraiser, Wishmaster). Hickox and Atkins also appears in Cameos. Grade:A-.

Summary: Dax meets Pinhead
Review: Another great Pinhead story which still manages to retain consistant plotlines. I can only think of the Lethal Weapon films to match Hellraiser when it comes to keeping sequals in line with their predecessors.

This one's a gem, spooky, moody and with quite a well thoughtout way of bringing back villians killed in previous films (makers of Halloween please note).

Summary: Pinhead Lives!
Review: Don't get me wrong, but as much a I liked this installment, I could'nt help feeling that this is the beginning of the end for Pinhead. He was just too talkative in this unlike in the previous films where he was dark and sinister and why is it just Pinhead who came back, where is female cenobite, butterball and chatterer?

This was darkly humouress and had brilliant effects, but it did'nt have the same feel you got from the first 2 films, it lacked originality.

Summary: I THOUGHT IT WAS PRETTY GOOD.
Review: Even though this was not the best sequel of the bunch,it's still pretty good when you think about it.The script was some what simplistic but the action and gore really grab you by your feet. The special effects are good and the acting is decent.I really like the different cenobites in this movie because they are really original looking.Over all,I would recommend this to any fan of the series.I WILL TEAR YOUR SOUL APART!!!

Summary: Hellraiser III on DVD Finally!
Review: First, the DVD, it's not the greatest in the world, No Dolby 5.1 Surround, not letterboxed, but nice to complete the series on DVD at last. This is technically the unrated version of the film, 2 added minutes, which is mostly extended gore...Great stuff! There are NO extras either, oh well. It's available, I guess that's what counts and as originally a Paramount Pictures release I wouldn't look for a Collector's Edition any time soon. As for the movie itself, I loved it. With the introduction of new Cenobites, CD head the coolest of them all, gave us a fresh perspective of Pinhead's abilities to replace his former troup. Unfortunately they didn't give his new cohorts a lot time to explore. Pinhead does get more screen time (unlike Hellraiser Inferno) and finally Doug Bradley (not Doug Stewart as mentioned in another review) gets screen time without makeup, gives us a broader view of his backstory and how he became this monstrosity. ("Bloodline" gives us the Lament Configuration Box history). All in all a pretty good film except for some cheesy effects, the melding of Pinhead and Elliott at the end is a good example. Here's hoping for Hellraiser six, although when I met Doug Bradley he told me not to hold my breath for number 5, but I think he needs to redeem himself after "Inferno". To me Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth was Heaven on Earth.

Summary: What started in hell will end on earth
Review: Hellraiser 3 was really good, but nothing compared to
Hellbound:Hellraiser 2 or the original Hellraiser,Kirsty
thought she ended Pinhead when rescuing her dad, years
pass and then someone solves the puzzlebox that the ghoulish
demon was trapped in.As pinhead gets out he needs blood. So then
he kills a couple of people to become immortal. Pinhead then becomes regenerated. Then Kirsty finds out, and throught all the pain and suffering she's been through had finally ended. She teams up with Joey to end Pinhead, but Pinhead isn't so easy! As in Hellraiser 2 Pinhead has a little assistant fiend that will
help banish Kirsty and Joey and finally do what Pinhead does best: Raise hell on earth!

Summary: A frightening , energetic and visually stunning horror ride.
Review: Hellraiser III : Hell on earth , is an incredibly stylish horror film filled with eye-opening special effects and spine-tingling sequences. Director Anthony Hickox successfuly enriches the tired (and somewhat sick series) with this sequel in which he adds his distinctive directing style which is second to none when it comes to visual panache as well as his unique use of sound design. The film is guaranteed to please any horror fan and is highly recommended to any one who enjoys gory , stylish and visually amazing films.
