Summary: Contrived Hollywood GARBAGE!
Review: This movie was the worst scary movie I have EVER watched. The only scary thing about it was the fact that it was made and shown to the public. I mean, why do they call it Urban Legends, if the killer doesn't even seem to kill by them? It was an absolutely stupid movie, with no plot turns and very little originality. The only good thing about this movie was Loretta Devine. And even she wasn't great. Please, for your own sake - DO NOT WATCH THIS MOVIE! It'll have you screaming to get out! I loved the first movie but this was just a money-making rip-off. STEER CLEAR!

Summary: The worst movie I have ever seen!
Review: Okay, I hadn't seen the first one but when I saw this movie the other day in theaters it was dumb! Yeah, it was kind of scary but it's just about college filmmakers who try to make scary movies. Do NOT go waste your money seeing this movie! If I saw the first one I would probably like that one the best. This sequel was just awful. If you want to go see real scary movies go see The Exorcist or rent Halloween and Scream. Those movies are awesome and a lot scarier than this.

Summary: This is one of the worst movies that I've ever seen.
Review: Urban Legends: Final Cut is a terrible movie. Even after Scary Movie was made, they still had me sitting in a chair, predicting what will happen next. For example, many times in this movie, there were the very predictable events that lame horror movies have like: a girl walking alone in an empty parking lot. No need to say, she misplaced her keys and she is stranded in the middle of the parking lot alone. At the end, the killer obviously confesses his whole phsycotic motive, but it does not follow an urban legend at all. Infact, I can only recall 2 killing scenes in the movie that were based on urban legends. In the first movie, Urban Legend, all of the murders were based on Urban Legend. All in all, I think that this movie was a waste of money and it is not worth seeing at all. See 'Scary Movie instead. This movie truthfully ridicules stupid movies like "Urban Legends: Final Cut." The only reason that I gave this movie a one star rating was because there is no lower grade for me to give.

Summary: very clever ending....
Review: I was very skeptical about seeing this film...don't get me wrong, the first one was great, but aren't we all so tired of sequels? Besides, did the original really need a sequel? I was convinced, however, by one of the previews for the film which showed Jacinda Barrett of 'The Real World London' waking up in a tub of ice and fleeing from the killer...I had heard this legend many times in my youth and I wanted to see what was done with it in the movie...I was glad I decided to go, not because the movie was great, it was just ok, but the ending in my opinion was fantastic...im still smiling...and no, I not talking about the whole killer revealed scene, I'm talking about the last 5 mins if the film, which was the clever and extremely well-done, with a fun cameo...an applause also to the opening scene, which was ruined by the previews, but still fun to watch...all in all, a good movie with an added surprise twist towards the end....check it out if you loved or liked the first....

Summary: legends gone WRONG!
Review: this 1 was nowhere close to being as good and original than the original. it barely even uses any legends what so ever to kill someone. not scary not even funny. not a good example of a slasher film. hell i wouldnt even call it that. its more of a pathedic mystery rather than horror. the only thing thats good about this is the killers costume is cool and hot eva mendez is a lesbian in this. to bad she dies. hell shes not the only one. this whole movie looks as if it was picked up as road kill and then got some cheap thrills added into it. in my opinion it made it even worse. completely flat and dead.

Summary: Brilliant
Review: "I got a good story, it's about a campus serial killer who murders eight students" At Pendelton students battle to make the best student film which will win them the Hitchcock award, who ever wins is basicly garenteed a place in Hollywood. Amy is stuck for a movie idea for her collage thesus, so when she gets a ride from the sucurity guard, she also gets and idea, to make a movie about a serial killer who murders are all based on Urban Legends. This seems like a good idea and it gets approved but as soon as she starts she runs into problems, bad acting, other members are pissed at her for stealing their genre, oh and a masked psycho seems to be killing off her cast and crew. It all seems to start when one student kills himself because of his low grade Amy seems to suspect something is wrong, the dead students twin brother also shows up to look into the sueiside more for he is convensed his brother didn't kill himself. Amy's crew seem to be getting shorter and shorter. Compitition is a killer, now it seems as if someone is killing the computition. Lets get something straight, I love slasher movies and I truely enjoy the new breed, Urban Legends is a fantastic entry into trendy slasher movies. I found myself jumping in my seat alot of times, John Ottman really knows how to scare his audence. The deaths where compleatly edge of your seat stuff, I for one loved them. I really enjoyed the amount of suspence there was in this movie, it was great. On to the killer, although he/she looked cool I often found myself thinking that he/she looked like a big walking micro phone, I liked the idea of changing the costume around. I found pretty much all the charicters likeable, they all seemed to have their own personality. One thing that was great was the first death, that has to be the greatest death I've seen so far in a 90s horror movie. The rest of the kills arn't really gruesome but somehow this didn't seem like a gore movie, much more to do with suspence. Over all I truely loved Urban Legends: Final Cut and I advise fans to go see it, it's a must, and if your not a fan of the first, see it anyway, it's like a different series. 10/10

Summary: Superior Sequel
Review: I was perhaps a little too hard on the first when I reviewed it. When compared to the "I know" movies it seems much better but this sequel rocks.

Although not completely different from all the other teen (read actors in late 20s/early 30s) slasher flicks out there Urban Legend 2 seems to be fresher than I had expected. I was pleasantly surprised.

The whole execution of the plot and the action seems to be a great deal more light-hearted and realistic. The photography and the setting looks very good on the big screen and the lead heroine is easy on the eye. She's way more talented and attractive than other scream queens. Not that I want to typecast her.

The identity of the bad guy was a mystery all the way thru for me and the way John Ottman makes us point the finger at a number of different characters was done whole lot better and way more subtler than Wes Craven. And none of the characters were annoying or irritating as they normally are in this sub-genre. Though Anthony Anderson as a camp film student was pushing it a bit too much.

The humor was also spot-on. There wasn't much I didn't laugh at that I was supposed to and it didn't spoil the intense atmosphere. The way the film was self-aware and in-jokey without becoming a parody was WAY more convincing and pleasing than any of the Scream movies. And the film students who refer to other movies and movie making was the kind of gimmick Scream 2 and Scream 3 could have benefited from if it were done properly.

The presence of Joey Laurence just made a good movie even better. If you liked or hated the first I seriously do recommend this sequel to you as it way superior. The only gripe would be the lack of Chris Young's original score

The DVD is in 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen with Dolby 5.1 sound. There are a bunch of extras for those who care.

Summary: E 4 "Effort"
Review: Sequel to "Urban Legend". A commendable attempt to rise above the typical slasher teen movie, which have increased in both popularity and indeed quantity since the release of Wes Craven and Kevin Williamson's excellent "Scream" in 1996.

I love the Hitchcockian shades in this film. Despite some very basic horror scenes, typical of this genre, UL2 is definitely more of a thriller than an outright stalk-n-slash horror.

In fact this movie pays homage to many movies, even the "Alien" series. A more cynical person might view this as being a process of "ripping off" but it is quite obvious that it is not, as it never goes that far, keeping - rather - the homages very subtle.

All in all, not a bad movie at all. Worth watching on DVD, as it contains - among others - a very funny gag reel, some interesting deleted scenes, and a reasonably impressive director's commentary.

Recommended.
