Summary: STAY OUT OF THE PUMPKIN PATCH PAPPY
Review: DARKWALKER opens in 1860, with an old coot wandering around in the middle of the night. He enters an area where he shouldn't and lo and behold, he steals a pumpkin and takes it back to his sleeping wife and twin daughters. When he slices the pumpkin, out comes buckets of blood....and then the dark walker comes and beheads the parents, leaving the twins orphans.
Zoom...we're in contemporary times, and an entrepeneur and his wife (David DeWitt and Brenda Matthews) have bought the land called Hobb's Grove, and have built a haunted theme park, which is just about to open in a little town called Sanger, California. (Only for two weeks, though, at Halloween---how are they going to make any money?)
In to the park come the prerequisite teenagers looking for jobs. They audition by screaming, and we have the stereotypical applicants: the shy, psychic cutie (Kathleen Taylor); the handsome and sensitive jock (Michael Sage); the local bitch; the black friend; the Goth cutie; the stoned Reef (short for you guessed it -- Reefer). We know dark walker is going to do some slice and dice, and you can pretty much figure out why. Dark walker's make-up isn't bad, but it certainly is obvious it's a man in a suit (producer Chuck Williams).
There's little suspense, but the film has such a campy feel, it ends up being more entertaining than you may have thought.
Don't expect a sequel, though.

Review: Great horror flick, good acting, and story line. Pop some popcorn and settle back for a top of the line scarey movie. It also has some great humor

Summary: Great Movie
Review: I loved this movie, it was very scary. It actually made me jump a couple of times and Im a hard core horror fan. My wife and son enjoyed it and jumped a few times. The acting was excellent as well and made you feel for the characters. I hope some of the actors go on to do more movies. I really liked the sheriff and his sense of humor was a hoot, kind of reminded me of the Evil Dead movies. I can hardly wait to see what this director can do with an actual budget. One of the best low budget movies I have ever seen. I recommend this movie, its a lot of fun. Im looking forward to taking my entire family to Hobbs Grove this Halloween should be excellent, they also have a great websight.

Summary: A No Budget Thriller that delivers!
Review: I was truly surprised by this film. Originally it was called Hobbs Grove- The Movie but later changed the title to DarkWalker. Now I know why. The Darkwalker is a demon that is released onto the earth by Jed Hobb, simply because he did not read the sign "Do not take of this earth". All I will say is that I look forward to sequels if they happen. The Darkwalker, that evil demon from below, has a lot of work to do still ahead of him! Good story line, good acting, sets, costumes, and was filmed at the Central Valleys greatest Haunted Attraction---Hobbs Grove. Get this movie...it is totally worth t

Summary: Amateurish Attempt At Horror
Review: Ok, this is a silly one. The plot and characters make no sense (although the Sheriff is really fun to watch). The camera work is on a par with Blair Witch.

A couple has sunk all of their money into buying a farm and setting up a haunted house. Somehow a week's worth of business is supposed to create profit.

Unfortunately, they have disturbed the ground by removing trees (never disturb the ground in anyplace with the name Hobb, didn't we learn that in Five Million Years To Earth?). By doing so, they have released a demon (looks like Swamp Thing in rags) that kills certain people (although he drags it out over many days).

The first to go is the daughter of the man who owns the town. Her disappearance goes unnoticed except by her coworkers (guess daddy was too busy).

The dialog is really bad (not good bad, but bad bad) with a cast of stereotypes and teens who look like they should have graduated college and not still be High School seniors.

The camera work is apparently all handheld as there is not a smooth pan in the lot. The camera jumps around a lot although it appears to be unintentional (unlike in Blair Witch).

The gore scenes are gratuitous and unbelievable with buckets of blood that looks nothing like blood.

Overall it looks like a high school film project. There is not even a real ending. The only true redeeming quality was the Sheriff, a square-haired good-ole-boy obsessed with murder and getting into the true murder magazines. His colorful way of speaking can be fun.

Others have liked this film, but I just can't get into it even though I love bad horror films and teen horror films. This one just really misses the mark.

Summary: So bad I threw it away
Review: This movie is true garbage. It made no sense, had no real plot, did not offer any clever deaths or humor, or gratuitous skin. The ending leaves you feeling stupid for having watched it all the way to the end. I had to wake myself up 3 times during this movie, I wish I had just stayed asleep. The horror, the horror. Actually, the sheriff was kind of wierd and creepy because you knew he was not acting (there was no acting) and you worry that someone like that is walking around out there. I think the people who liked this movie are trying to sell their used copies that are good for landfill only.
Basically, the plot was about to make some headway at the end, but then they ran out of money or maybe their 486 computer they were using to edit it died. Or maybe they got bored and walked off the set. Becuase their was no explanation of who killed everyone, and everyone except the innocent girl was dead. It had a chainsaw killing and lots of scythe beheading, but I just could not care. If I could give this movie negative stars I would, but 1 star is the lowest.
