Summary: Stylish, not a screamer
Review: Wow. I was surprised at the hostile reviews this movie has seen. Being an afficiando of horror flicks, from old school to new, I watched Ghost Ship at the recommendation of a friend. While it isn't the scream a minute slicer-dicer, or a brooding Hitchcockian thriller, this film did surprise me in a lot of good ways. The plot twists veered one way and then another, and everything came together quite nicely. The effects were incredible, especially given the low-key way they were presented. The actors played their roles well, rather than simply being actors walking in and saying lines without attempting to sink into the characters.

While there were cliches, they were forgiveable in the overall scheme of things. While it's not quite a thinker, or a screamer, it is a chilly movie to watch, and will make you think twice about taking a cruise.

Summary: Ghost Ship, better than any other Horror movies of today.
Review: Im not a fan of todays Horror movies. Im all about the mindless gore fests of the 80's. Such films as "Firday the 13th", "Hellraiser", "A Nightmare on Elm Street", "C.H.U.D", "Return of the Night of the Living Dead" are all considerd classics to me. Supernatural killers with crazy plots, tons of blood and moody camera work made the 80's Horror films amazing to me! These days it seems to me that everyone is trying too hard in the Horror area. Trying to hard to make it realistic with a touch of spooky. Lame if you ask me. The only exception to the latest Horror movies are "Jeepers Creeper's", "House on Haunted Hill", "13 Ghosts" and or course "Ghost Ship." Although its not really spooky in anyway, it reminds me of the mindless gory fun of the 80's. It's the kind of movie thats a better idea than anything else. "Ghost Ship" isn't as good as some of the 80's gems I've grown to love but its a step in the right direction.

Summary: A ship full of errie cliches
Review: Well to start off I really liked this movie the first time i saw it.I thought it was the best movie I had seen in a long time that of course is why I gave it 5 stars. But watching it for a second time I am starting to notice a few spoofs some I can place and some i just cant remember the names of but I know I have seen befor. For starters there is a spoof from the lost boys, there is one from pet symetery. There is also one from 13 ghosts but on a little more extreme level witch becomes apparent in the first 10 min of the movie. There is on from house on haunted hill the new one not the old one. And belive it or not there is even one from titanic but a little more crepper. I am a movie buff but I cant place all the cliches but i know there is more. Other than all the cliches it was actually a very good movie. I would buy it if I haddent already.

Summary: A Sad Sorry Excuse for a Film
Review: This movie is terribly, terribly bad. Ghost Ship makes other lousy scary movies like Event Horizon, Jason X, or Critters 4 seem like sophisticated classics of the horror genre. The film is mostly dull predictable and needlessly gory (and I'm not one who is against gore, but gore can't make up for the mindless plot). Many of the horror elements used in this film are extremely cliche, and the ones that seem very original aren't developed well enough to really have much of an effect. The stars are somewhat famous, but it seems the film makers probably wasted their money because they could have gotten the same quality of acting from no names. The mood of the film jumps all over the place and has a questionable soundtrack. Though the film sounds promising, it's a waste of time . Even if all you want is a suspensful film, don't expect it from this movie either. It saddens me that there are viewers who can give this film more than 2 stars. But, if you are someone who likes a well developed and suspensful horror film, and who doesn't just like a lousy gore driven film (and by the way there are plenty of gore driven films that are better than this one) look elsewhere.

Summary: A good edge of your seat thriller
Review: While some of the scenarios in this movie are predictable, I still found it a good, fast paced thriller. This movie keeps you on the edge of your seat and does have some pretty unexpected turns. Gabriel Byrne turns in a good performance as the salvage boat Captain who tries in vain to keep his crew intact. There are a few pretty gorey scenes for those who like that sort of thing, begining with the start and prologue to the old ship's story. This is definitely a must have movie for thriller buffs.

Summary: Pretty Good!
Review: When I first heard about the movie "Ghost Ship," I figured that it was going to be just another one of the cookie-cutter horror films that will have the typical jumps and gore, but not much else. While I wasn't totally wrong, I have to say that this film really did hold my attention even though most of it was predictable.

I loved the way the opening credits were presented to the audience. It totally didn't seem like a horror movie at all at first glance. Then the bad things start to happen. We, the audience, are witness to one of the most grisly murder sequences I have ever seen in a horror film. Believe me, you will never view a wire the same.

The story revolves around a luxury ship, the Antonia Graza, that mysteriously disappeared in 1962 while at sea. It has magically reappeared in the Bering Strait and a salvage crew, headed by Gabriel Byrne and Julianna Margulies, discover it and try to tow it back to civilization. The salvage crew is then haunted by the ghosts of the ship's victims. With the help of one ghost, Katie, a little girl who was killed on the ship, the crew learns why all of the murders took place and ultimately the murderer's identity.

Yes, there are the obligatory jumpy scares in this film, but I would recommend it to people who love a good scare. Some of the scenes and occurrences are rather predictable, but that's what makes this movie fun. Even if you're a horror movie buff, you'll get some sort of enjoyment from this movie. Check it out!

Summary: COME ON!
Review: Again, I was made to sit and watch yet another horror
movie. I'm chosing the next one we watch! Alas, here is
a story of a ship lost for 40 years that all of a sudden
appears in the Bering Sea, just waiting for a salvage crew to
get all the goodies on board.
It starts out all sweet and pretty. Dancing and smiling
passangers soon turn into a bloody mess. Come on! Gross me out!
Again I got mad at the characters for doing stupid things instead of getting out of there quickly! However, if they had
there won't be a movie, but maybe that won't be such a bad thing!
Sorry folks, this just wasn't my cup of tea!
