Summary: Tobe Hooper, are you listening?
Review: Director Kim Henkel claims that this is the "official" sequel to the 1974 classic - but this stinker doesn't do the original justice. It sat unreleased for over four years, then was let out of the can to capitalize on the latter-day success of Matthew McConaughey and Renee Zellweger. They needn't have bothered. Again, young folks are attacked by a backwoods family of bizarros. Henkel updates the story from 1974, and throws in some new elements, but this mess never gets off the ground. I was fooled by the trailer, which looked great. But you can skillfully edit a trailer to make the movie look really good. At least Mr. Henkel can take a bow for that.

Summary: AVOID AT ALL COSTS
Review: This is awful. The producers should have burned the negatives and collected the insurance money. It even repeats some of the same scenes from the first movie, [...]This was a movie that did not need to be made. Watch the original and avoid this like the plague. Possibly one of the worst movies ever made. I have to give props to Matthew and Rene for going on to successful careers after this garbage. That is a miracle!

Summary: leatherface and the family is back, scarier then ever.
Review: this horrific and terrifying movie will have you awake all night every time you watch it. renee zelwegger gets trapped in a house stuck with leatherface and the family. she jumps out windows, crawls on roofs, runs people over, threatens the killers with a gun, and throws a gun at leatherface, she even slaps one of the family members and tells one to sit the ... down or she will blow their head off. she is alone after her friend is greusomely and disturbingly torchered to death and her 2 other friends have been sliced up as well, can she make it? she relies on a half normal woman who turns out to be a phsyco as well, but she does not hurt anyone realy. alot of scenes are real scary, some of the family members are unhumanlike monsterous zombie looking freeks, it sounds unrealistic, but after you see it, you will understand why i think it deserves a B or Bt. it is scary but i would never keep an actual copy in my house, until recently, it was gonna be on on HBO so i recorded it with a new tape but still keep it in different rooms then mine. this is At in scariness, but it still cannot beat halloween(1978) and texas chainsaw massacre 1(1974), but it is one of the 5 or 6 best sequels ever! i love this series and the halloween series. this movie is a must see, i saw it in the theatre, you can see it now on vhs or even own it, dont miss this oppertunity to see this awesome movie plz! the chasings are like halloween/scream and it has its own extra thing going on! REVIEW BY ASHI TOLEDANO,(AKA WES CRAVEN'S JOURNALIST.)thats how good i rate, when a movie is good, i say it, if not, i say it! this one did not get 5 stars, but it is rare i give 5 or 4, this one is lucky to be the 8th movie i have given 4 or 5 stars to!some of the 4s and 5s are halloween tcm1 friday the 13th silence of the lambs halloween h20, and a few others.

Summary: Can I give it zero stars?
Review: There is a movie in which a guy, poorly dressed as a woman, chases some people with a chainsaw. With the title that this movie has (I refuse to mention the name because this film makes the Leprechaun movies look good, even with Leprechaun's eleven dollar budget for all the movies), you would expect some chainsaw killing, right? Well, the thing about this movie is that nobody, not one single person is killed by use of a chainsaw. I don't know if the director forgot that titles usually are relevant to the film or that titles are usually indicative to what occurs in the film. There aren't even any deaths that are the result of chainsaw use, like tress falling down on someone, choking on saw dust, getting Tetanus from a rusty chain, and/or someone accidentally being hit by a chainsaw thrown out of a tall building. More people are killed over by a recovery vehicle (or tow-truck) than a chainsaw. This movie would be more aptly named the "Texas Tow-Truck Massacre". The acting is pitiful, again making the Leprechaun movies look good. The ending comes from nowhere; I think that the filmmakers figured that no one would be watching anymore by that point anyways, or maybe they were running out of film. After watching the movie, you expect the director to appear and say something like, "ok, this is what not to do when making a film" or "ok, folks, the joke is over. Here is the real movie" (with the real movie shortly following), but that does not occur. This one ranks up -- err -- down there with "Trolls 2", "Children of the Corn (any, and all of them)", and "The Screaming Skull". Anyone who recommends this movie to you either (a) doesn't like you or (b) has been using a chainsaw without proper ventilation for really long time.

After watching this movie, I felt as though I had become dumber. Some movies do not deserve the DVD treatment and this is one of them. If someone invites you to watch this sorry film, make up some excuse and do something else: eat some cheese, go for a walk, hell, even watch all of the Leprechaun movies. This movie does not make sense; plot holes are thoughtlessly filled in so that this rubbish can end and the movie has nothing in common with the original, 'cept for the misleading title. The only thing this movie taught me is to watch for low flying planes while chasing people down a dirt road with a chainsaw.

Maybe the problems I had were because the version I had was defective or something. Maybe calling the production company to find out how to switch the movie from the "evil" setting to the 'good' setting, in which the plot makes sense, someone gets killed by a chainsaw thus making the title apply to the movie, airplanes don't come out of nowhere to kill the killer (whose body count is lower than other characters), and the movie apologizes for wasting for an hour and a half of your life, could help. Then again, maybe just not watching this movie is your best bet. The only enjoyable part of this movie is the part when the peoples' names start appearing on the screen at the end, this event, referred to as credits, signifies that the movie is over and that you can stop wasting your life now.

Just remember, by purchasing this motion picture, you are encouraging the film company to make more movies like this...

Review: This movie is an insult to the TCM series.First off their is on good acting in this movie. Also their is no suspence what so ever. And the most important thing is they made Leatherface a cross dressing freak whos afraid of his own family.Dont be tricked by the cover the killer is not a women. Last note this is just a ... remake of the first one right down to the end.Just see the first and theird ones in the seires there the best.

Summary: Hard to recomment...
Review: The 4th movie in the serie. Loved by some, hated by many. Is it really bad? Booth yes and no. If you'd changed the title, and throwen anything out that is recemblend to the serie; then NO. Otherwise; YES. The writer/director of this movies probably tought they was able to create a good Texas movie by throwing in Leatherface and a couple of chainsaw scenes, but unfortantly for them: Thats not enough. The movie isent good, but it isent bad either. Personally i think it was a so-so movie. It is hard to recomment this movie.

Summary: No no no no no no no.
Review: This is one of the all-time worst horror movies I've had the misfortune to rent and the stupidity to sit through. And that is saying A LOT. I have seen over 500 horror films, and this is probably one of the three worst.

I saw TCM 1, 2, and 3. It would be insulting to even begin to compare the original with this, so I'm not gonna try (though the main survivor in the first film has an unbilled cameo in this). TCM 2 was great. TCM 3 was lame but this...this...thing made it look like Re-Animator in comparison! The "plot" involves 2 couples on prom night who run into Leatherface and his family. That's about it.

Why was it so bad? Well, let's see. Here's the main ones I can list:

1. Leatherface and other villains simply wander casually into camera range to make their entrance with no pretense at any kind of suspense or buildup.

2. Extraordinarily bad acting, even for a B-horror flick, even from Renee Zellweger and McConaughey.

3. They must have spent their entire FX budget on a shot of a rotting corpse in a bathtub, because there is NO gore at all, not even blood, even when someone gets hit in the head with an axe. There's a scene where a bad guy runs over some kid--after he's been chasing him in his tow truck, and the dumb kid just runs ahead of him the whole time, like in a road-runner cartoon, when he could have easily gone into the woods and escaped--and all you see is a shot of Bad Guy sitting in the cab of the truck, backing over him and going "yeee-HAW!" about 20 times. No body, no nothing. Not even a sound when he runs over him.

4. All the victims are unusually stupid, even for a horror movie. Yeah, I know they're supposed to do stupid stuff and end up getting killed, but this went so far I wanted to slap the screenwriter (if there was one--most of it seems improvised). Characters on the run from killers hide in houses to escape and DO NOT EVEN CLOSE THE FRIKKIN' DOOR. NO matter how freaked out you would be, even forms of plant life would be smart enough to know enough to do that. There's the obligatory TCM scene where the victim is forced to sit at the dinner table with the rest of the cannibalistic family while they torment her, but in this case she is not tied to the chair--all she had to do was get up and stroll out. It gets to the point where even a viewer with a speed-limit IQ would have their intelligence insulted by this.

5. Leatherface has been turned into a whining, wimpy cross-dresser who is scared of everyone else in his family. I don't think I need to explain why this is a flaw to anyone who has seen the original. Actually, I probably don't need to explain it to anyone, period. 'Nuff said.

Those are just the reasons I can think of off the top of my head. In fact, I'm getting all worked up again over how amazingly idiotic and insulting this movie was when I'm just writing about it. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Yes, I know it is a B-movie. Yes, I know it was probably intended to be funny as well as scary. Yes, I know some of it may have been intended as parody, though that is probably giving everyone involved too much credit. No, I did not expect it to be as good as the original, or the sequels. However, none of the above matters when the movie is so completely wretched that it has no entertainment value whatsoever.

My recommendation- Do not pay to rent this movie. Go take the money you were going to spend on the rental fee, put it in a small pile, and set fire to it. It will be better use of your money and more entertaining. Do not even sit through this movie if someone pays YOU to watch it. And this isn't one of those 'so bad it's good' movies that are fun to laugh at, either. If you've seen more than 10 horror movies, I'm sure you know the difference. Don't rent it just to see how bad it is--if you do, you'll hate yourself after sitting through 3 minutes of it. Trust me on this, please.

Summary: At least I'd say it's pretty entertaining
Review: Probably as entertaining as the first one, though not as scary in that realistic way. What makes this one a flop, and the original a masterpiece if they are so similar? The first one has that low budget 70's quality that makes it seem more real, and not recognizing any actors helps too. Aside from that, this movie is basically the same and has some equally disturbing qualities. For example, I found the character of the female psycho pretty disturbing. I guess because she totally didn't seem like the type to be mixed up in this mess. As for the whole conspiracy thing thrown in with this movie, well, it's disturbing in its own way. Maybe not as disturbing as the original idea that it was just a screwed up family, nothing more. I just gotta say, this might not send as many chills up your spine as the original, but being pretty similar how can we deny that it's almost just as entertaining. And hey, it's really good for a laugh now and then too. Considering its starring roles played by Mathew McConaughey and Renee Zelweger. I know, I probably screwed up the spelling on both their names. I have to admit that I've been finding myself more and more attracted to Renee Zelweiger as time goes by, but this movie will really crack you up when you see how she acts! It's hilarious!
