Summary: A Classic Revisited
Review: When this movie first came out, I have to admit that I just didn't get it. It seemed silly. But now I understand.

Viewed as a commentary on contemporary society (as it obviously is), it is brilliant. The reliance that so many of us have on remote controls is exquisitely portrayed, as are many other factors of our modern lives.

First rate filmmaking. A triumph for all involved.

Summary: Call me crazy...
Review: ... but I this is one of my absolute favorites. I don't think I've heard one positive review and I think even Rene Zellweger is ashamed to say she was in this movie. It's sad though, because she is great in it. This is has got to be the most bizzare, out-there movie I've ever seen.

This movie was meant to be somewhat of a remake to the original, despite the opening narration which would suggest otherwise. It was re-edited for video and had the original title "Return of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre" was changed and it was marketed as a sequel.
The movie's plot is nothing new. You have 4 kids on the road after prom who eventually face a group of backwood psychos who torture and murder them.

But there's something unique about it. I don't know why I like this movie, and I'm probobly one of very few, but it flows well and never gets old to me. It's not scary, and I don't think it tries to be, but it's entertaining for me none the less. I am still hoping they will bring out the original version, even if I'm the only one who buys it.

Summary: This film by far the worst thing I have ever experienced...
Review: I am truly at a loss for words after seeing this ...film. Without a doubt it is the most horrible thing I have ever witnessed. Last December, I lost my grandfather to cancer, it was awful, yet still nowhere near as painful as the 2 hours I sat through this film. It was so bad that I simply could not muster the strength to turn it off, I had to continue watching, not being able to believe it was really happening. I thought several times that I must be having a nightmare where every bad part of every movie I have ever watched had combined into one film. It was no nightmare, it was Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation. I'm not even going to go into the thousands of individual reasons (no plot, bad acting, etc) why this film is the worst movie ever made, but suffice it so say, there were several times I completely lost faith in God during the viewing of this travesty of cinema. That says a lot considering I come from an extremely Christian family. Many years from now, even when I become old and gray, I will have seen decades of changes, hopefully I will have gotten married, raised a family, and accomplished great things in my life. However, even after all those years, I shall still never be able to erase the memory of this film from my mind, and every time I shall ever think about that, I will shudder in disgust....

Summary: Not As Bad As Everyone Thinks
Review: Everyone seems to hate part 4, as if the writers of the movie were running out of ideas, when really it's supposed to be the "family" that's running out of ideas on how to scare their victims. And I think the actors do a great job of looking like they're getting sick of their job of terrorizing people, while Vilmer is trying his hardest to scare the girls. They even gave up cannabalizm and were eating pizza. And the big boss in the buisness suit is just as mad about their performance as killers as most people are as their performance as actors. No one understands that it's supposed to be getting cheezy in this movie.

Summary: Horrible movie! The worst yet!
Review: This movie is so stupid. It's not a sequel it's just a very (...) attemp to remake the first one. My advice is to avoid this movie at all costs. It's so bad it doesn't deserve a star! If you want to see a good TCM movie watch the first two. And, my major question for this movie is: Since when in the hell was leatherface a crossdresser?

Summary: Texas Chainsaw Massacre 4 (1997) d: Henkel, Kim
Review: The film was surrounded by controversy from day one. After waiting for Renee Zellweger's hit film Jerry Maguire (1996) to finish its theatrical release, Matthew McConaughey's agents [Creative artists Agency] then began pressuring Columbia / Tri-Star to put the movie on hold. I don't know how true all this is, but I do know that I originally had to get my copy bootlegged from a Japanese Laser Disc just to see the film in North America. If horror films are too embarrassing to your career, then don't act in them, and if they are not worth marketing, then stay away, we don't want to give you our money anyways. Are you listening Universal [House of 1,000 Corpses (2001)] Pictures? Texas Chainsaw Massacre: Next Generation was a remake not a sequel. Emotionally damaging for the bruised and beaten actors, director Kim Henkel, who wrote the original finally got to tell the story the way he wanted it told. I thought the added secret society plot was brilliant, yet the film doesn't have that grimmy, dirty feeling that the original gives you. Perhaps it was a backlash against the peace loving sixties, which made the films of the 1970's very dark and depressing, unfortunately this remake doesn't seem to capture that mood

Summary: The BEST movie of all time!!
Review: Just kidding. Now that I've got your attention, forget about this movie. I could have given better direction myself, and as for the charcters...what characters? If there is any TCM fan out there who has not seen this film, don't worry about it. It totally cahges your view on Leatherface and leaves you with a nautious feeling at the film's climax. If the goal of the screenwriters and director was to bore the audience- then they achieved greatly as no one has done before in regards to a sequal....

Summary: The Worst Horror Film Ever Made
Review: The only good thing about this film are the effective portrayals by Renee Zellwegger and Matthew McConaghuey. This is a cheap, trashy, laughable excuse for a movie. Not that the others were anything to write home about either. This is horror filmmaking in the worst way. Avoid this at all costs. If we were able to rate lower than one star, like a zero, this would get it. So incredibly bad.
