Summary: Strange...............
Review: I just gave this movie 4 stars because I saw it a while ago and don't remember TOO much of it. The Graveyard Shift monster is weird with a lot of rats around. I do remember there were some rats in it. Didn't they even describe what that thing looked like? It was alright, anyway. {FYI, I don't think the creature was shown, and it had something to do with a sewer}. Altogether, it was a neat Stephen King movie. I am a big fan of Mr. King and I think he has a lot of rad stuff in his movies. When I say "rad", I mean like....strange. Like this movie. I still don't remember too much of it......

Summary: Good Start.... Good Finish.... What Happened To The Middle??
Review: I'll tell ya I love horror movies and I try to find something good out all of them. Graveyard Shift, however, is a poor excuse of what a horror film is to me but I've seen worse.

The good points of the film are few and far between. The setting of a basement in an old textile mill is great and the time of night is perfect. It seems like it is going to be a scary movie, but instead of taking advantage of these good points, it fizzles out and dies. A bunch of guys trying to exterminate rats from a basement??? If these rats were to do something instead of just sit there the film would've been much better. The acting is horrid, the plot is weak and there is not enough action until the very end, and even that is marred as the filming is so dark that it's hard to see exactley what's going on. The rat/bat creature at the end is pretty cool but you only get to see it once.

Graveyard Shift could've been much better than it was. I think it just needed a little more direction, much better acting and some more action in the middle. You can check out Graveyard Shift and see what you think. It's not a complete waste of time but it's no masterpiece either.

Summary: I love it
Review: It scared me to death. I love the big rat or bat thing in the movie. It kind of reminded me of some Ex-boyfriends I use to go out with. I think Steven King did a great job on this movie. And I hope he does more movies like this one!

Summary: someone call break?
Review: like a lot of stephen king movies and this one is definitely one of the better ones! factory is literally taken over by rat infestation. the boss decides to put together a cleanup crew to work the graveyard shift till they get the factory cleaned up and that's when the fun begins. nonstop entertainment and just a damn good movie! great acting all the way around!

Summary: ehh??
Review: Stephen King's Graveyard Shift isn't a bad movie in it's own right. If you read the short story however- you probably will find this movie laughable. Not true to the brilliant short story found in Stephen King's "Night Shift" My advice is to read the short story and skip the movie.

Summary: BLUE COLLAR BATS
Review: Ten Best and Worst Things About this Movie:
1. Stephen Macht and Andrew Divoff's horrible New Englad accents, ayuh..
2. Brad Dourif's zany turn as the Exterminator.
3. Kelly Wolf's midriff.
4. David Andrews' stoic Spaghetti western performance.
5. The fact that it doesn't really resemble King's short story at all.
6. The rat/bat creature is never justified..where did it come from?
7. The rats surfing.
8. Andrews slinghost with Diet Pepsi cans.
9. The really ridiculous voice overs during the end credits.
10. The graveyard of bones.
In other words, it's a b flick with a capital B, and if you like that kind of film, you'll love GRAVEYARD SHIFT.

Summary: Not the best Stephen King movie, but not the worst
Review: The first time I saw this movie was in the theater back in 1990 when it was released. I just saw it again a few days ago for the second time. That should give you an idea of how great it is.

I didn't think the directing was that bad, but the special effects were pretty bad, and if you pay attention to the surroundings, you will find yourself asking a lot of questions. Such as after the trap door is found, 6 or so people go down a ladder to investigate. The ladder holds all 6 just fine. When the guy with the hose runs back up it, the ladder sudden breaks and he falls through the floor. How did it hold 6 people just a few minutes ago and now it can't hold him? Another part shortly after this is when the main character, the lady, and the foreman all end up in the pile of skeletons. Kind of strange that dozens, if not hundreds of skeletons just happened to all be in the same place, and they are all pretty clean. The background to that scene looks VERY fake, like a painting.

The movie does have inconsistencies, some scenes are very predictable, and some parts just don't make sense.

For me, the gore was the best. I don't feel a horror movie should be classified as horror unless it is gory. Graveyard Shift has a fair amount of gore. It would very likely scare small kids, but teenagers or anyone older than that wouldn't be bothered at all.

Overall it is pretty decent. Would kill some time for you. If you had to leave the room for whatever reason and you miss a scene, you wouldn't be missing much.

So as I stated, its just alright. I've seen much better and I've seen much worse. If you still aren't sure if you would like this movie, go rent it one night. The worst that will happen is you wasted a few bucks.

Summary: Did anyone see what actually happened in the movie?
Review: The movie was so dark, I might as well have turned off the TV and turned on the speakers. It's a fine way to cover a low budget every time the monster in the movie appears. Brad Dourif was fun though...
