Review: Child's Play 2 is definetely the highlight of the series. In the first film, a serial killer named Charles "Chucky" Lee Ray used voodoo to transfer his soul from his wounded, dieing body into a Good Guys doll in a toy store. Six year old Andy Barclay ended up getting the possessed doll for his birthday, and his life will never be the same. Now in the second film, Andy's mother is institutionalized and Andy is living in a foster home. He's terrified that Chucky is still after him (which he is), determined to take over his soul, and his foster family begins to think he's insane. When his foster sister Kyle learns the truth, it's up to them to end Chucky's reign of terror. Great movie, and the acting is terrific for a horror movie, espescially from Jenny Agutter.

Summary: One of the few horror sequels that lives up to the original
Review: The original Child's Play was a surprisingly taut horror flick that, not surprisingly, spawned a series of sequels. Child's Play 2 is the only sequel to live up to the original, as the ante is upped with more gore and much better special effects. Brad Dourif reprises his role as the voice of the demonic killer doll Chucky, who has since been reassembled and is looking for Andy (Alex Vincent) in another attempt to transfer his soul into Andy's body. Even though much of the film is predictable, the killings are more creative and more graphic this time around, with the Chucky effects being better than ever. The morbid sense of humor that is apparent throughout the series also takes more shape here, and Dourif is flawlessly menacing as Chucky's voice. Sadly, this would be the only sequel in the series that would even come close to being as good as the original, as it was followed by three more films, which for lack of a better term, are more than lacking.

Review:
Chucky ( voiced by Brad Douriff) is back!! it takes two months after young Andy Barclay's ( Alex Vincient from the original) battle with the evil doll, his mother is in care while Andy has to be with two foster parents ( one of whom is played by Jenny Agutter from "An American Werewolf in London"). Chucky's burnt remains from the last time has been revived by the Good Guy doll factory in order to see that there is nothing wrong with it after the negative publicity of a possessed doll, however Chucky has been brought back to life only to kill and seek for his former buddy Andy whom he wants his soul.

A sequel that works better than the original with more excitment, more fun, good gore effects, morbid humor ( like the eye-gouging scene for instance, funny stuff), good acting, and a even better looking Chucky ( whom this time looks like Michael Ironside).

The DVD is crystal clear on picture with nice sound quality, there is a trailer to it, i highly recommend this sequel even if you didn't enjoy the original cause i think it's the best of the Chucky movies and a personal favorite horror movie of mine.

THE STORY: Chucky's remains are taken and reconstructed at the Play Pals factory, thus reviving him. Chucky then continues his search for Andy, who is at a foster home.

MY THOUGHTS: A little better than the original, Child's Play 2 is great! I like it better than the first because it has less boring parts. Yay Chucky!

Review: Picking up approximately two years after the original movie, "Child's Play 2" continues the story of poor Andy Barclay, the young boy tortured by his best friend -- A doll named Chucky. Most of us know, but for those who aren't up to speed, Chucky (a.k.a. Charles Lee Ray) is the infamous Lakeshore Strangler whom, prior to his death, transferred his soul into a Good-Guy doll, via voodoo. Chucky is one mean doll, but with a "killer" sense of humor. Realizing that transferring his soul into little Andy is the only way to escape doll-damnation, he sets his eyes on the poor boy and kills everyone in his way. Being burnt to a crisp in the first "Child's Play" wasn't enough to stop him, as we see in this movie, in a very bad public relations move, the company behind the Good Guy doll re-assembles the Chucky doll to negate bad publicity. But of course, as is the case in all of these movies, something goes wrong, and Chucky himself is resurrected and continues his path of carnage to get to Andy. "Child's Play 2" is a lot of things, but one simple word comes to mind: Fun. Brad Dourif returns as the voice of Chucky, and not only are the special effects and animatronics much better this time (in other words, no more midget in a Chucky costume), but Chucky starts to come into his own, expressing his unique sense of black humor. Alex Vincent also returns to portray Andy and does a great job conveying a child who has seen one too many dead bodies, and he is finally given a little more strength and independence this time around (too bad Vincent hasn't worked the business since). Writer Don Mancini (who has written every "Chucky" script since the beginning and is director of the newest flick, "Seed Of Chucky") sets up many clever death sequences and creates many memorable stalk scenes -- especially the finale, which takes place in a toy factory. There is plenty of fun to be had in this movie, and plenty of characters to love and to hate at your choosing (mostly hate). It's a strong follow-up to what was an incredible movie. Maybe I'm just being biased as a lifelong Chucky fan (I saw the originalc as a young child and I share the Andy namesake), but I highly recommend "Child's Play 2" for a bloody good time. The DVD is a bit disappointing, however, as all we are treated to are production notes (typical of Universal) and a theatrical trailer. But the movie looks good, and it's a good movie, so overall, a winner.

Review: After beign burnt, losing his head, arm and leg and finally shot down, the roasted remainings of Chucky is taken to the Play pals toy factory and restored. The nasty thing wakes up and takes a trip to his old "friend" Andy Barclay, planning to do what he failed doing in the orginal; transfer his soul into Andy's body.

A very good and entertaing film. The original was more of a serious thriller while this one had a stronger approach for the slasher genere. Filled with great black humour and Chucky delivers many hillarious one-liners. If you loved part 1, you'll probalbly find this as a decent movie as well. Young Alex Vincet as Andy Barclay is more than enough hero for kids who may watch this film when their parents not present
