Review: NOT BAD AT ALL the picture was bad, and the audio was terrible. These flaws were made up by Eric Stanze's creativity in the editing room. He's an amazing editor, lots of cuts, and creative filters-- A lot like Olive Stone's style in NBK- and U Turn. The sound effects are wicked creepy-- and MR. Stanze uses them very well, I think he should take his creativity to the next level. Since this film he hasn't released anything that compares to this effort, I'm sure he'll read this, and he knows that we know he has what it takes to do great things-- GO FOR IT BIG GUY-- LEAVE SUB ROSA, it's crap, and you're mind isn't.

Summary: Really, really bad.
Review: Okay the writing and story are probably two of the bigger faults to this movie. The dialouge is poorly thought up, every thing said leads to something that happens later in the movie, you can see this coming down the runway. Plotwise it's not any better. It's pretty much an anvil dropper up until the end, then once again you see it coming way before it happens.

Camera work. If you don't have the proper tools then don't try to do it without them. Sadly the camera work in The Blair Witch Project is better. From camera shots that are so shaky you cannot tell what is going on to other scenes where you can see the wobble with each camera persons step.

Directing. Pretty basic stuff over and over. Close up of the gore, close up of reaction to gore, reshow the gore again, wash rinse repeat. Also the film probably could have used some more footage (sadly enough) instead of several scenes being used and reused over and over. Also there are shots in the movie that have no reason other than to showcase some blood, fire or whatnot.

Well this movie goes up on my shelf in a special place. My section of horribly bad movies that I can make others suffer through. If you enjoy movies like that then this one is for you.

Summary: sorta cool,I guess
Review: People made it sound like this was a trippy film(and I'm aware that it's a "b-movie"),but I couldn't really see myself watching this one again unless I was intoxicated.it had a trippy concept, some funny parts, and a few cool sets or lighting techniques though.

Summary: Tedium Delirium!
Review: The minimal extra materials on this low-quality DVD include the original 1998 trailer that advises its potential viewers thus:
"This film hates your family.
This film hates your home.
This film hates your religion.
This film hates you.
Deal with it."

One way of dealing with it is, of course, to avoid these low-quality and unimaginative exploitation productions from Wicked Pixel Cinema. In fact, this course of action is universally suggested after watching Ice From The Sun: a very tedious viewing experience!
The movie has about 50 minutes of film. It repeats and repeats and repeats scene after scene from its meager stock to stretch out the movie to 119 minutes. Be advised, however, the viewing time seems much, much, much longer than 119 minutes! The epic experience of tedium is partly due to the same people (please note, I do not use the word actors!) playing a variety of roles and, of course, the attempt at a storyline which involves parallel states of existence (Ha-ha! Ho-hum! Yawn! The same story told in different settings may help hide the scarcity of genuine thought in this unimaginative script but it also makes the viewing experience two or three times more tedious! The tedium is sustained and made overwhelmingly numbing by the stock situations and predictable acts of hatred and violence (against women predominantly, of course!). Then, there is the copious amounts of red liquid for the blood-spilling, the drone of inane yarn-spinning, the miserable soundtrack of punk-rock mimicry and a drift of scenes "borrowed" from the intellectual rights of more honestly crafted movies.
This exploitation movie fails for many reasons but ... enough! Ice From The Sun deserves no more; in fact, it deserves nothing more than to be recognized (and quickly dismissed) as the nonsense its own trite title clearly advertises itself to be!

Summary: excellent
Review: The person who wrote tedieum did not understand that this film was not made for them. If you frequent Blockbuster Video, like to watch Katie curic(sic)on tv or by into Time Warner Cable programming, this film will offend you. You will not understand its point of view. It is cutting edge, subversive experimental film, with an excellent, original screenplay, linear in nature. This I have never seen done in recent times in an experimental feature film. Excellent musical score, punk as it should be. We are not living in timid times, so please do not judge those who work for their heart and freedoms of speech. With that said, great film.

Summary: Could have been an epic film but failed
Review: There was so much potential in the film. But it all diminished because of a nonsense story and worst acting ever. I don't mind bad acting ("Pieces" and "Gore Gore Girls" are hilarious). But this movie was supposed to be taken in a serious context. I couldn't believe any of the acting at all. Especially the long one part where we have the whole vital background story bluntly mumbled.

Couldn't the filmmakers embed the background story in a more creative way, rather than just having a girl read it so lifelessly as if she's being forced to read homework? I felt like I was trying to read through those long boring "User Agreement" things, which nobody reads in reality.

After closer listens to the story, I found it to be just fantasy mumbo jumbo. There was no enlightening view points given, which is something I look for in all forms of art that are taken seriously. "Dawn of the Dead," "Society," & "28 Day's Later" are good examples of horror movies that teach us something.

It's as if the poor story was just thrown in so they could have an excuse for calling the wild experimentation with cinema a "movie".

All in all, the blunder from that narration really threw me off the whole movie. I couldn't piece together any relevance to the creative bizarre (yet limited to low budget) imagery with the dialogue. The movie died in front of my eyes as far as I'm concerned after that point. Nothing could redeem the film from that horrid narration part. No wonder it's so cheap.

Eric Stanze is a true visionary. He just has to get stronger stories and a better budget. We see crap like "Biker Boyz" cost millions to make while Stanze could create so much more with that kind of money. I really wanted to like this but the story and acting were a huge disappointment.

I should probably mention the crazy parts of the film really are like a Nine Inch Nails video, as others have said. And the film does slide in strange random images, kind of like Oliver Stone. Also, there are some gore parts but it's no "Dead Alive" or "The Beyond" in that department.

Summary: Some of the Best Camera, lighting.....best stuff seen.
Review: This film is not for everyone. "Ice from the Sun" is a superior piece of filmmaking. While the director did start out writing and directing low budget B-Horror movies, he finally put a vision on tape. This film will take you places never seen or experienced. Despite some of the Audio being too low, and a rough start, this film rocks! It is definately worth the money. I would only really recommend this to people who can appreciate the independent scene. Not meaning independent like Miramax. And if you thought "Armaggeddon" was a great flick, stay away from this one. There is nudity so the kiddies might wanna stay away. But this is a trip like no other and I can't wait to see what Eric Stanze does next. The DVD is ok. IT does have 2 trailers, Stills Gallery, and 2 commentary tracks. The only thing I have to complain about is the Chapters. There are only 4 chapters for the whole film. But don't make that stop you from buying this. CHECK IT OUT! LONG LIVE EYE-BOY! And to **** with Toy-Biz.
