Summary: Waste of time, soft core trash!
Review: I Spit on Your Grave, more like I spit on this movie. How anyone can like this movie is beyond me. I personally like violent movies, but movies of class and style, such as (Goodfellas, Halloween, and The Exorcist), but I Spit on Your Grave has neither, just a woman getting raped in the first half, and her revenge in the second half. Mabey the reason critics hate this film(HA-HA) so much is because it really does suck. Their really is no bacic story, and acting that deserves turkey awards for the entire cast. Come on people quit wasting your time on a movie that no one can even say (this is a horror movie, a suspence movie, or a drama) because honestly I don't even know myself. But I do know that this garbage should be banned from the public peroid...

Summary: A piece of cinematic failing
Review: I saw this film on it first release in the UK at the age of 25, shocked at the time yes. On seeing this again so many years later, the base degradation is still there the amature direction and production is still there, but the impact is not, how the world progresses! The sound and vision quality on DVD is on a par with VHS not bettering but equalling. The content although has the same macho / sadistic impact that denies women the right to say no, until you tip the scales. The final comment, women are the equal partners of men, but misuse or abuse and, well ? watch the end of this. but if you abuse you deserve.

Review: One of the most notorious films of modern times. Made on a shoestring budget with Buster Keaton's granddaughter in a dubious role, ISOYG (also known as "Day of the Woman") has made lists of the worst movies, most disturbing movies, movies to be banned. The overall message is clear: rape is avenged, with a vengeance. What is interesting is the shift in method of revenge. The first two rapists are killed within sexual contexts, the second in scenes of visceral violence minus a sexual dimension. Does this represent a change in Keaton's character's mindset? (cf. the interesting scene where she reflects, almost meditatively, on whatever while her second victim fills her bathroom with blood and screams). One thing is for sure...no viewer will identify with these four rapists (which would have been irresponsible for Zarchi to allow). What is probably so controversial, besides the incredibly brutal rape sequence (it actually stretches over three scenes and there is no eroticism - this is rape for what it is, brutal and vicious, with sex merely the weapon of choice), is the mentally retarded character who plays the first one of the four. Zarchi provides enough issues via this character to write a book. A diffficult movie to recommend...too notorious nowadays to ignore completely. A tour de force acting job by Camille Keaton...whatever happened to her?

Summary: MISUNDERSTOOD CLASSIC
Review: Why is this brilliant film so maligned by so many so-called film critics? It is a gripping, intelligent anti-rape film, which is brilliantly acted by a cast of unknowns(though star Camille Keaton appeared in several Italian exploitation films). The 'Videohound' reviewer said that the scenes in the film were irresponsibly portrayed, which is a total joke. The reason why this film has such an impact is because it is so realistic; because of the lack of music, the great acting, and most importantly, the fact that the film is so subtle. In the rape and the murder scenes, the viewer sees very little; there is hardly any gore or graphicness. That is not irresponsible, that is brilliant film making. Anyone who thinks this film could encourage rapists obviously hasn't seen it, as the rapists get their brutal come-uppance. In fact, this film should be shown to convicted rapists over and over, like the pavlovian therapy meted out to Alex in 'A Clockwork Orange'; It might make them think twice about raping again. I think that ISOYG comes across as a feminist film, though wether or not Meir Zarchi intended this is hard to tell.

Summary: A guy from Weatherford, Oklahoma
Review: If your the kind of person who likes to see women get abused and then come back for revenge, then this movie is for you. This woman was on vacation when about four sick perverts rape her in her own home and also in the woods. I enjoyed the part where she individualy comes back and kills each one after inflicting pain upon them for a few moments. This movie is not for the squeamish, and not too bad.

Summary: I spit on this Video....
Review: I had some friends that told me about this movie and how great it was, well I obviously have a severly different taste. This was the worst movie I have seen. The acting is awful, the story is thin at best and the movie moves soooo slowly. Don't see it!

Summary: Raw, meaty flick, but the DVD sucks...
Review: Banned in the United Kingdom and Germany, the cult classic I Spit On Your Grave is shown in its original, gloriously uncut form - for those who didn't get enough brutality in the edited versions (woohoo!).

It stars Camille Keaton as Jennifer, a young woman who travels to the country in search of some peace and quiet. What she finds is a group of men who brutally rape and beat her, then take her back to her house for more. Originally titled Day Of The Woman, this woman comes back for her day of revenge in sick, bloody horrifying ways. Not for anyone with an ounce of human decency.

Picture: The non-anamorphic DVD appears to be sourced from a composite master due to apparent aliasing problems and inter-field jitter. The overall picture is wanting in resolution and clarity, appearing dated. Color fidelity is generally natural, but somewhat subdued and wanting in natural depth. Images are wanting in sharpness and detail, with a soft focus often utilized. Contrast and shadow delineation are poor to mediocre throughout. Minor noise is occasionally apparent, as well as brightness changes, but artifacts are minimal. The picture is matted at 1.82:1.

Soundtrack: The original theatrical soundtrack is undistinguished monaural, as is the DVD, encoded in Dolby® Digital. The sound is terribly dubbed and distorted, with a consistent hum throughout. The Dolby Digital soundtrack is spread to the two front channels with problematic phase errors.

Summary: I Know What I Am Talking About!
Review: Definatley not a movie for the kids. This movie yields a tale of a young writer on a holiday in search of her best novel yet, but the site she chooses for her little getaway turns into a nighmare you can't imagine!

Summary: I Spit on Your Grave
Review: Camille Keaton plays an author who decides to escape the mayhem of the city to finish her work in the quiet country. Bad move! She falls victim to a viscious and graphically intense battering and gang rape by four men she is very familiar with. One of which is a mentally challenged grocery delivery boy. The men suspect she will die in the woods, but she doesn't. Too bad for them. The revenge she takes on these four is horrific, explicit, and not for the faint of heart! But the punishments fit the crime! This film broke ground where other cult films only dreamed of treading. I Spit on Your Grave (originally titled "Day of the Woman")is a must have for any horror or cult fan, and very recommended! Not for anyone under 18, or the weak of heart! You are warned! Enjoy this one! I do, over and over!

Summary: Umm... What the heck WAS THIS?
Review: I saw this recently (Picked it up at random on a video renting spree) it was in the "Horror" section... which is odd because it was clearly meant to be a Porn movie. You know the plot (the other guys have only repeated it about a million times already). One thing is that this film is totally non-memorial. I didn't even remember the main character's name before reading these reviews! Second is that it, as stated, was obviously meant to be porn. This is because she was raped repeatedly, and throughout the movie is usually either <a> completely naked or <b> in very little clothing. The acting is terrible. Ok, its not -bad- they act realistic and with almost no screw-ups, but I don't find any of it convincing. Some of the things she does are disturbing, even to me (and I watch Horror movies often) like the bathtub scene... whihc I wish not to remember.

(Offensive comment coming up)

This is a like-it-or-hate-it film. In particular leering perverts are known to love it.
