Summary: Over Directed and Short on the action
Review: Okay so lets just start the fact that this movie is obviously meant for the TV market complete with black out sections for comercial breaks. Next lets look at the random use of bad acid trip cam where the innocent viewer is abused with horrendous amounts of effects for no apparent reason. Also bigfoot always has a bush in front of his face and when the bush is removed from our view he looks like a portly balding salesman! Lance Hendickson appears embaressed to be seen in this thing and I don't blame him. Watch Ape Canyon instead the creature effects in that are slightly worse and at least the plot makes a tiny bit of sense...

Summary: Sasquatch injustice.....rated "B" for bad movie making
Review: Personally,I would have opened with an aerial shot of the wilderness and then pan down slow with a birds eye view of a train coming out of the mountain. The caption on the screen reads "Near Yale British Columbia 1884" the trian slowly comes to a stop, three crewmen step off the train and walk away from the train. The three men carrying their lunch saw some tree stumps,they sat down and began eating and drinking,one of the men noticed something moving about between the trees,the three men walked over to investigate and found a creature who looked like it was"half man and half beast,"it stood upright just as they did,but it was covered with shining reddish brown hair and it was about 4'6" tall with an estimated weight of 130lb. They feed it berries and brought it back with them on the train,they decided to call the creature a 'jacko' because they did not know what else to call it,shortly afterwards the crewmen went on about their duties and headed to thier destination,but while en route, the creature escaped. THEN THE "REAL SASQUATCH MOVIE" BEGINS. I would not have made a movie the way this one was made which was origionally entitled "The Untold" in Canada,but it was renamed "Sasquatch" for U.S. release,the movie itself was made badly and that their were over 21 fade to blacks,25 slow motions,20 infra-red shots,and a number of blurred shots. I hope that Steven Spielberg will someday read this and actually produce a much better "Sasquatch" movie,but,until then if anyone wants to see anything about a sasquatch, buy the exellent made documentaries from www.amazon.com and if you want to see real B-rated movies rent the following: Giant Mantis,Them,Tarantula,20 Million Miles To Earth,War Of The Gargantuas,Godzilla,Rodan,King Kong Escapes,Gamera,Gamera vs Barugon,etc...

Summary: Sasquatch
Review: Pretty good movie... Bigfoot has not been featured in movies recently and it's nice to see that they stay true to the myth unlike Beneath the Lock Ness where it doesn't. The acting of the leads is good, but there's the odd one that not that great. One does not really see the creature much in the movie until the end. There is an interesting visual concept going in the movie
that keeps the viewer disoriented and wonder what they just saw of the creature if anything at all was shown.. over all a good indipendent movie from Canada.

Summary: Only if you Must!
Review: Rent (not buy) this movie ONLY if you are a die-hard Bigfoot enthusiast, and even then, you'll think it was among the worst movies you have ever seen! This was supposed to be a horror film...the only horror I experienced was actually sitting through the entire production! This poorly edited and written excuse for a movie (complete with frame jumps and atrocious acting) will have you screaming (at yourself for renting it) all the way back to the video store. If you love the Bigfoot phenomenon, this film's only worth is the rumor that it's based on a true story...other than that, there is no reason whatsoever to take a chance on this impotent production.

Summary: As good as direct to video titles get!
Review: Sasquatch (originally titled The Untold, a much more suitable and classier title) is a top notch direct to video film. A lot of the tell tail signs of a low budget production don't emerge. Production value is high, direction is solid, acting is better then most, and the creature itself is quite effective. The plot (supposedly based on real events) involves a plane going down in the woods (shot in British Columbia) with a business tycoons daughter on board. As well as an important scientific device. Harlan Knowles, the business tycoon (Lance Henriksen), takes a party out to look for his missing daughter. It seems that the survivors of the plane crash have uncovered something in the forrest. Something that isn't friendly. Most notable, the performance of the always compeling Lance Henriksen. It baffles me why this man hasn't gained a greater degree of stardom. He is without a doubt one of the most under appreciated actors working today. The rest of the cast is also strong, in perticular a likeable woodsman who is the groups guide. The locations are beautiful and boost the production value considerably. There's some fine cinematography and the creature itself is actually frightening and surprisingly effective. However, the movie has a distracting editing device where it inexplicably cuts to black quite frequently. It's distracting and gets annoying fast. Also, a sequence involving a hot spring is goofy. A hot spring... come on! Overall, a solid genre film with tense pacing and a strong performance by Henriksen. On a movie shelf cluttered with direct to video shlock, Sasquatch stands out. No thanks to it's new title.

Review: The british columbia locations are breathtaking and beautiful.
I wished for more from Lance Henriksen, he's very quiet in this
movie, just does alot of staring and grimacing. The bigfoot makeup and costume is a disappointment, why couldn't they have made him to look more like harry and the hendersons type of bigfoot. Buyers beware, the bigfoot in the movie does not look like the creature on the cover, he is much more mild looking.
All in all a good little popcorn movie, you could do alot worse
in a movie selection.

Summary: not bad, but far from great
Review: The DVD Picture quality was very good, it had good sound, and not a bad story line. So why the low rating? This is one of these typical horror movies that shows that annoying view point of the creature. We all know what I'm talking about: the distorted vision cam (like on predator, but far worse). To me this gets annoying after awhile. My next complaint, call me blood thirsty, is they don't show the killings!! You see the distorted vision, then a scream, and that's about it, also annoying. Not only needed more blood, but action, it was slow in spots, but interesting enough to keep you watching. The only reason this was a half way decent movie is the fact it supposed to be true (if you believe it) ... I always thought it would be easier to believe in aliens, or nessy because we have not fully explored the oceans, or space, but I don't know if I've ever bought into the bigfoot thing, however I'm not a skeptic either, lets just say I've seen and heard some weird stuff in the woods too that I couldn't explain, but doesn't mean it was bigfoot

Summary: very sad turnout..
Review: The title of this movie should have been called "campfire" or "Fireside Mystery". The movie spends more time by the fire than focusing of footage of the actual creature. It keeps running into the same obstacles, every time--the plane goes down, the creature kills the passengers, team of billionaires venture out into the wilderness to try to find the creature, the stop and talk, dissention sparks between a few of the members, they move on, someone gets injured, etc. The obvious has already been stated about this movie-bad acting, a weak cast lead by Lance Heriksen, who doesnt even seem to try to save the movie from failing to get the point accross. I dont understand why this is even a movie---although it has some cool visual effects, but they serve more as a distraction than anything.

Summary: In a word, Painful
Review: This film is painfully bad. Some bad movies are so bad they're good. This one passes good and goes straight back to bad. But I did learn a few things about Sasquatch in watching this film. I learned that Sasquatch not only starred in this film, but he edited it as well. Oh, the credits don't come out and SAY that the film was edited by Sasquatch. But from the best I can tell, Sasquatch edited the film, using a blunt instrument. Maybe a tree trunk or smooth rock. I also learned that Sasquatch has X-ray vision and can dodge bullets. This leads me to believe that Sasquatch is the love child of Superman and Chewbacca. It's somthing I'd rather not think about, but the proof is right in the film. All in all, this film should be avoided at all costs. There are much better Lance Henriksen B-movie vehicles you can rent/purchase instead.

Summary: Did any one understand what was going on?
Review: This film opens up with a shot of a plane crash in a mountain. A lone survivor (a young girl) is outside trudging through the snow. From the point-of-view of the Sasquatch we watch as she fires a flare, misses, and gets attacked. Now, I have to side with Bigfoot here...was it really a good idea to shoot at him? "Hey, there's a huge, muscular furry thing that can rip me apart. I think I'll fire a single shot at it." Cut to Lance Henrikson, millionaire extraordinaire, setting up a team to go find his daughter. She was trapped in a snowy mountain...so of course they go into a thick forest... Then - for some odd reason - they FORGET what their mission is. They start camping in a forest and talking about Bigfoot and starting relationships with each other. It isn't until they find a cave that ol' Lance says, "Wait a minute...my daughter!" His answer to find her is to fire a shot into the air and shout her name. And that's it. "Um...Lance? Your daughter's in the Himalayas, you might wanna yell louder than that..." Then Bigfoot attacks! Well, he drags a girl ten feet from her tent and leaves. Was she camped out fifty miles from the rest of the group? Why didn't they notice a ten foot tall gorilla-like beast walk into camp and carry a girl off? And why didn't the girl notice what it was? Some how they come across the crash site where they find out Bigfoot killed every one. Then Bigfoot comes and kills off some of them. In the end, Lance and Bigfoot have a showdown where he decides to spare Chewy because - underneath all that murderous, blood-stained fur - there beats the heart of a good being. A being that killed his daughter and mutilated her corpse, but still a good being...wait, does that make sense...? Wow, this movie was really bad. Even Lance Henriksson can't save this. Lance, c'mon...I know you've been damned to Direct-to-Video Hell forever...but do you have to pick movies THIS bad? And hey, I'm just wondering: was this film supposed to be a sexploitation film? That scene where the girl is undressing in her tent with softcore porn music was odd...and turning the camera 180 degrees didn't help. And why did that one girl strip down and get in a forest lake? She is one of two girls in a part of seven, is that a wise thing? And also, I would not step into unknown water in the middle of a thick forest at night. The worms and chiggers must have loved to see her.
