Summary: Should be re-titled Sasquash!!
Review: I was really looking forward to this film when I learned it was in production in Canada as a film being titled "The Untold".
I am a big fan of "The Legend of Boggy Creek' and "The Creature from Black lake" so naturally I beacame enthused to see this.
What a disappointment. Lance Hendrickson walks through this movie with a look on his face that says "Can I just have my paycheck now?"
The film starts off promising with some nice footage of snow covered mountains and rivers, but the main problem with this film is that it takes itself way to seriously.
It lacks any sense of humour and you don't really care about the characters.
I could not figure out some of the direction of this movie.
Apparently at times you are supposed to be viewing through Bigfoots eyes. If that is the case, then Bigfoot had just got done power slamming down a 12 pack of Coors Light.
The camera twists all around and goes backwards and upside down and all over the place.
When Bigfoot finally shows up, it turns out he's bald.
He looks more like Benjamin Franklin than the elusive monster of the Pacific Northwest.
It was disappointing to know that the producers of this film had a budget to work with and a cast and crew at there disposal and this is all they could come up with.
They should have had more fun and taken more liberties with Bigfoot. Have him terrorize a campground or wrestle a bear for pete's sake.
Purchase "Legend of Boggy Creek" or Creature from Black Lake" instead.

Summary: Gripping and Delightful, Fun to Watch
Review: I would recommend buying this movie for two reasons. 1) The Sasquatch ideas, premise, and true being did not get distorted away from what could have taken place. 2) This movie is one that most people will enjoy now, five years from now or whenever. Put this movie in and watch the kids get swallowed up in it for a few hours, I found it was gripping yet not horrific.The acting was better than average with Lance Henriksen, Andrea Roth, and Russel Ferrier playing key roles. Some of the scene shots are very delightful, with a true mix of conditions and obviosuly outdoor locations. Put this in the collection, it takes unique elements on many different levels, the shame is that they didn't expand on these more.

Summary: Dang, this is one crappy movie
Review: i've always been intrigued with the legend of bigfoot, so i went out and bought this dvd, excited that finally they made a good film that would really capture the mystery of the legend. this is not what i had hoped for. very poor acting, subplots that were distracting, and annoying camerawork. all i can say about the monster is some things are better left unseen.

Review: If you are a bigfoot enthusiast like I am, you will be dissapointed. It's not at all factual nor does it try to be. Poor plot. Bigfoot is not agressive, as a matter of fact, they are more afraid of us then we of them. They would not attack and most certianly do not kill. Characters were very shallow.

Summary: Lost in the Woods-And Hunted
Review: Judging by some of the negative reviews recieved it's obvious that some people have lost the ability to watch a good b-grade horror movie.
Sasquatch isn't going to surpass any of the classics but it is fun and actually has some suspense thanks in part to a realistic looking man-ape beast that, for most of the movie (up until the last scene) can send shivers down your spine in the way he stalks his victims only partially seen on camera or lurking in the shadows.
The story goes: A plane goes down with a group of researchers carrying a very important piece of technology: a machine that can identify DNA at incredible speed. The recovery of this technology is critical to Harlan Knowles (Lance Henriksen) for the survival of his company depends on it.
Going in with a group of associates led by an experinced tracker, Knowles seeks out his box as well as finding his daughter who was also on board when the plane went down.
Trudging through an uncharted part of the Canadian wilderness, they feel the presence of something stalking them. Will they find what they're looking for and make it out alive?
Henriksen gives a bitter performance as a CEO who's own personnal interest in saving his company outweighs his desire to find his daughter.
The movie does have a few cliche characters. The hot blonde with a hidden agenda who tries to seduce Knowles with a brief nude flash. The one time military expert turned total jerk who clashes with Knowles' tracker who can see Knowles eye to eye as a self made man. He is the only other character you can care about.
But the beast itself is the most important part of this movie. The make-up design for this creature is top notch and only the final scene between Knowles and the Sasquatch spoils this movie when the monster is in full view.
Not great, but much better than average.

Summary: CLASSIC HORROR IS NOT DEAD!
Review: Last night, I was delighted to see a true horror film aqain. SASQUATCH is not just well-written and well-acted. It is also visually quite striking. The director, Jonas Quastel, understands that a movie only becomes a film if the camera is used effectively to expand and augment the meaning of the work. At times, the film has an experimental quality that was absolutely refreshing. The cast does an able job of bringing the story to life. In particular, it was wonderful to see Lance Henriksen in the lead. Those of us who love horror films are so grateful to Henriksen for remaining a passionate and intelligent presence within the genre. SASQUATCH is a classic horror film in the truest sense...a moral fable for adults.

Summary: Come On People---It Wasn't THAT Bad!
Review: most people are reviewing this one saying its extremely dumb and...well, crapola. i have to admit, the first time i saw it(on the sci-fi channel), it [looked bad]! but once i bought the DVD(why, after hating it? i dont know), it became a favorite of mine. yes, the bigfoot creature looks like a huge african with patches of hair, but for petes sake: its sasquath! they dont make many movies that i know of about this guy, so why not this one? at the end it reveals that Plazz(which character that is? i dont know)is marked delusional for his beliefs about what happened with "sasquatch" and is put under psychiatric evaluation at seatle mental institution. if this is a true story, which it claims to be, then id have to go with the ending and say that Plazz was a schizophrenic with prominent hallucinations and delusions. but if so, did Berg and Marla never really exist? if they did, and its true that sasquatch was all Plazz's imagination, then did they really die? if its true that all of this was a link to Plazz's schizophrenia, then how much of this movie really DID happen? people, you have to draw the line somewhere, and they really leave you hanging with the whole "was it Plazz's imagination playing tricks on him, or did the others just want to cover it all up?" thing. still, it was half-way decent and deserves 3 stars. just rent it first and then buy it.

Review: No stars, if that had been an option! Having had an interest in the Sasquatch/Bigfoot phenomena for the last 30 years I thought I would rent this from my local Hollywood video. I was so incensed at how bad it was I was tempted to take it back and try to get my money back. Lance Henrickson is generally a good actor, but he couldn't even save this abomination. The cinematography was horrid, the props were horrid, and the plot/story line was horrid. Do yourself a favor. Skip this one.
