Summary: A Canadian horror film set on Valentine's Day? I'm sold!
Review: Well, we have Friday the 13th, Halloween, April Fool's Day, Silent Night Bloody Night.... and now... My Bloody Valentine. Director George Mihalka seems to have his tongue planted firmly in his cheek during most of the movie. It's gimmicky, slow paced, with some truly horrible dialogue. While most films would suffer greatly because of those things, My Bloody Valentine actually benefits from them. After watching an hour or so of goofy set-ups, false scares, and amateur acting, this baby really kicks it into high gear. In fact, it's final half-an-hour is comparable with most of the best films of the genre. The film is often too gory for it's own good but manages a level of restraint that most casual horror fans will appreciate. The only real acting presented here comes from the two male leads, Paul Kelman and Neil Affleck, who manage to play two ex-friends embroiled in a battle for the same woman and seem believeable even though they have to mutter some of the dumbest dialogue I've ever heard in a horror film. I could complain about this film for hours but then I'd be missing the point. Any filmed called My Bloody Valentine obviously shouldn't be taken seriously. It's a cheap, Saturday night thrillfest. And at that level it succeeds. Just don't expect anything on a cerebral level.

Summary: My It's A Bloody Good Time!
Review: Man, My Bloody Valentine is a bloody good time. They have a lot of blood in the movie, so if you a fan of bloody films then this is the bloody one for you. It's like they just keep pouring on the blood. Man, and it looks so real too. I have heard a rumor that the bloody blood, was real blood. That bloody heart .. yuck man ... The bloody axe, whoo.. And the bloody chicks are soo hot in this movie. So, see this movie before I slash you with my pick axe.

Summary: One of my favorite slasher movies!
Review: I first watched this movie when I was about 10 years old and I have loved it ever since. It's pretty much a B movie; the actors have weird accents and are overly dramatic but it adds to the weird atmosphere. I was just glad it's available to buy because it never comes on TV anymore. If you like campy little slasher movies, this one's for you!

Summary: What are you people thinking?
Review: I am a horror fanatic! I've seen the campiest, worst horror films of all time and even they were Lawrence of Arabia compared to this sleeper. No gore, dumb rehashed story, terrible actors (never saw one of them again), no nudity (comon, that's the least a horror movie could have), just nothing. I almost fell asleep twice, even during the killing spree. Go rent Holloween for the hundredth time, it'll beat the hell out of watching this dumb flick. But if you want a real kick, rent Dawn of the Dead or Zombie - now those are horror movies. This was trash.

Summary: Unique
Review: This film's focus in inducing fright in the viewer is based on the setting. A mine shaft is an original place for a stalker to roam. However, again the audience does not really get to know the characters that end up as victims and they are devalued. The emphasis is not on "who" died, but how they died, typical of an 80's horror flick. What can I say, I loved it...

Summary: Creepy
Review: My Bloody Valentine is a step, albeit small, above some of the other slasher movies at the time. Sure you have the typical story of the lunatic bent on revenge, but since most of the movie takes place in a mineshaft, well wouldn't you be scared by a psychominer in a gas mask with a pick axe?? I think so. Great movie.

Summary: Not a bad movie
Review: It has been my experience that some of the best slasher films derive from Canada. The classic Black Christmas, the underrated (and a personal favorite) The Burning, and this hidden treasure. Sure the story is predictable, and the acting is sub-par, but let's face it, it's a slasher film. The only difference with this and many other slasher films is this one actually has some creepy moments. I think the setting of the mine is creepy enough. And though I'm not one to praise the death scenes of horror movies, I must say that these were pretty effectively scary. I remember seeing this movie when I was five and being thoroughly entertained. Ten years later, it still had the same impact. A must rent.

Summary: Rehashed slasher trash!
Review: Yet another (groan) early 80's slasher flick about a guy in a gas mask chopping his way through many a stupid victim on Valentine's day! Hallfay through this film I had already lost complete interest in it!!! Dont waste your time or money!
