Summary: TIM BURTONS BEST MOVIE SINCE BATMAN RETURNS
Review: TIM BURTON HAS NEVER DONE A BAD MOVIE, BUT ONLY A FEW STAND OUT FROM ALL THE OTHERS, AND ONE OF THOSE ARE SLEEPY HOLLOW, IT IS AN EXCELLENT REMAKE, SURE HE MADE SOME CHANGES TO THE STORY, BUT ITS ALL GOOD. I LOVED IT FROM THE BEGINNING, THE MOOD OF IT IS ALL JUST RIGHT, TIM BURTON IS AN EXCELLENT DIRECTOR BUT THIS MOVIE MAKES HIM ONE OF THE BEST DIRECTORS I KNOW OF.

P.S. BATMAN 1 AND BATMAN RETURNS WERE BOTH GOOD MOVIES ALSO

Summary: awesome movie!
Review: This movie was awesome! i saw it in the theater about 5 or 6 times...and it just was better and better each time. Johnny Depp is awesome! The fact that he was scared of a little spider and his fainting just made him cuter than ever! Christina Ricci was cool too...im not her biggest fan, but her part made her likeable. Christopher Walkin was beyond creepy! He was great! I didn't know who was controlling the horseman till the very end (and i usually guess the bad guy at the beginning cuz i am a horrow movie FANATIC! ). overall..a kickass movie!

Summary: Oooga Booga!
Review: I really enjoyed this film. I like to call it a "beautifulmovie" It had beautiful actors, costumes, sets, and even the way they spoke was beautiful! It wasn't as frightening as it seemed in the trailer (the trailer freaked me out. when i saw the trailer, i thought the movie was going to be too scary to see)I loved all the humor. Anywho, this is a MUST SEE! I don't recommend it for small children. Most kids ages 10+ could handle this movie.

Never mind the Oooga Booga

Summary: 4 times in the theater wasn't enough
Review: This is one of Tim Burton's best; second only to EdwardScissorhands. This has secured Burton as my favorite director. Itwas freaky, humorous, and gory-what more could you ask for. The horseman is now the best character ever seen in a movie. With or without a head. Johnny, Chris Walken, and Rick Heinrich's production design are all excellent. This is definetely the best looking movie ever made! It's gory, but tastefully done. It just won an OSCAR for art direction so buy this one on DVD and watch it every single day. Danny Elfman also deserves credit for creating one of the best scores EVER. His twisted musical tour de force matches perfectly with Burton's vision.

Summary: "Head" of the Class
Review: I have not seen so many heads being chopped off since the spanish inquisition. There were at least 5 heads rolling in the first 30 minutes of the movie. Don't get me wrong I loved the movie. I did however have trouble figuring out Depp's character in the movie. He was part Sherlock Holmes and part Perry Mason, mixed with a little Dana Scully for seasoning. First he wants to believe nothing without scientific proof, then he freaks out and all of a sudden he's a ghostbuster. Overlooking that part of the movie, I do recommend this movie for a great weekend flick. "HEAD" out and pick this one up.

Summary: SLEEPY HOLLOW - Superior!
Review: Well, this is certainly brutal, talk about heads rolling! I love this movie! I've only seen it once, and I can't wait till it comes out on DVD! This is definitely filled with very grim/dark atmospheres. I think they did an outstanding job on this area, because it just adds to the morbid nature. The violence is also very good, at 1st, I thought it was going to be all sissy and wimpy, but I was totally wrong! This is dripping with blood! Sleepy Hollow is Eye-candy for all.

Summary: UGH! Washington Irving must be turning in his grave....
Review: How sad it is to see what hollywood does to American Folk Lore! The headless horseman didn't have a sword, he didn't have a vendetta and Ichabod sure wasn't a big time NYC lawyer. So sad to see a great American Classic butchered --even sadder more people will now think this is the real story.

Summary: Tim Burton at his finest
Review: There are two kinds of horror movies, and in the last years, the hip, teeny style (The Facutly, Scream) was dominating the market and so it's with great pleasure to discover the return to the dark "classic" style horror movies, like Sleepy Hollow. The artwork in this movie, the scenery, the colours and the music make this movie a great buy and an excellent entertainment. Rarely you will find a better combination of a well developed storyboard (good plot), great acting (especially Johny Depp) and scenery like this one, and still with a little bit of humor and the necessary gore to make this movie one of the best of 1999.

Summary: Twisted Hollow
Review: Tim Burton adds his own macabre touch to Washington Irving's classic short story, and quite well too. However, as Hollywood is 'NOTHING IS AS IT SEEMS', even the best of stories seem to go under the pens of savage Hollywood screenplay writers and POOF! There you go; TWISTED HOLLOW, or 'Sleepy HollowWood'!

But besides the fact that the story is off, Burton's artistic sense of movie making excells in this flick. Burton uses just the right effects, moods, actors and actresses, sets and everything to the fullest to create the perfect set up! (Christopher Walken as the Headless Horseman...Not someone to meet in a dark alley!)

A great movie, although distorted in it's original context, Burton pulls off another great film, with yet another good lesson behind it: DON'T MESS WITH POWERS YOU HAVE NO CONTROL OVER!

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: What a mess
Review: This film starts off well purely due to the fact that the acting is hilarious (I suspect intentionally). As the film tries to develop however, it quickly descends into what seems like an episode of scooby-doo. I was genuinely surprised at the end when I realised that the janitor actually didn't do it. To be fair, the film was entertaining at times, and I'm sure a lot of people will love it, but I walked away wondering exactly what it was trying to achieve. I think this movie is good for those people who want to feel scared, but don't have the stomach for a real horror movie. Overall: hit and miss.
