Summary: BEST HORROR FILM
Review: THIS FILM IS TRULY THE SCARIEST HORROR MOVIE I HAVE EVER SEEN. NOT ONLY ARE THE STORIES DISTURBING AND REALALISTIC (BESIDES THE OBVIOUS FACTS), EACH STORY HAS THEIR OWN MUSIC WHICH IS VERY SCARY. I THINK ALL THAT SEE THIS MOVIE WOULD AGREE THAT THE SCARIEST PART IS THE ENDING. I BELIEVE THAT MR. SIMMS WILL GO DOWN AS THE CRYPT KEEPER FOR THE URBAN SOCIETY FOR CENTURIES. IF YOU LOVE HORROR MOVIES AND BEING SCARED, SEE THIS MOVIE, NO MATTER WHAT RACE YOU ARE.

Review: This is a horror anthology film CREEPSHOW or the HBO series TALES FROM THE CRYPT, only it is told from more of an African-American perspective. And unlike many horror films, TftH puts together fictional horrors with real-life horrors like racism, child abuse, police brutality, and gang violence. The story deals with three hoodlums who enter a funeral home ran by a mysterious mortician effectively played by Clarence Williams III. The mortician, who turns out to be a lot more than just a simple mortician, tells the thugs four stories: 1. A honest cop is tormented by the fact that he failed to save an activist's life from his corrupt superiors. 2. An abused child is victimized by his stepfather and a monster everyone thinks is imaginary. 3. A racist politician, modeled after David Duke, moves into a former plantation where the slave master murdered his slaves. 4. A homicidal thug, who blames everyone except himself for his problems, undergoes a government sponsored rehabilitation program. This story has a connection with the three thugs also. And it has the best message out of all the stories. For a horror film, I found TftH unusally well written and acted. However, I do have a complaint with its treatment of white people. It depicts white people as being skinheads, racist cops, or former Klansmen. If the filmmakers wanted to make a statement about racism, they went about it the wrong way by demonizing white people. Finger-pointing does not cure racism, it only aggravates it. Overall rating : 3.75 stars.

Summary: Very Scary!
Review: This is one of the best horror movies I had ever saw. I actually found myself sleeping with the light on and the radio blasting to keep my mind off it. This movie is about three gangsters who go to a funeral home owned by Mr. Simms(Clarence Williams 3). They are trying to get some drugs that belonged to their dead friend. Mr.Simms sidetracks them by telling them these following 4 stories: 1. A black man was murdered by three crooked white cops. A black cop that witnessed this murder is being haunted by the dead man telling him to bring the cops to his grave. This man comes back to life as a monster to take revenge on these cops. 2.A little boy is being attacked by a monster that comes to his room every night. This monster is actually his stepfather. 3.A white politician is taking over a house that used to belong to a white master who murdered his black slaves. A voodoo woman transformed these dead souls into little dolls. These dolls are alive in the house and the politician is being attacked by them. 4. This story was the most powerful. After a black man slayed so many black people he was taken to a temple on a hill. First he was put on this machine where he saw clips of black people being killed by either white or black people. Then he was put in solitary confinement where he saw all the people he killed. Then he wakes up and he gets shot. This was linked to three gangsters we beginned with. The ending really freaked me out because you will find out who Mr.Simms really was and why these 3 gangsters ended up in this funeral home besides trying to get drugs. Not only was this movie scary but a little humor was in it that made me chuckle. If you SEE the movie besides reading my review you will be scared!

Summary: ROOT FOR THE GHOSTS!!!!
Review: This is the first movie where I was rooting for the Ghosts or Spirits to get the bad guy. With the exception of the MONSTER skit, I found myself cheering on the Ghosts. I hope that was the intention of the writer or director LOL. The movie wasn't exactly scary and the ending was funny, but it's a movie to watch with a group. A MUST SEE!!!

Review: This movie is off the hook through out most of it. The beginning is pretty broing likt the first three stories are the boring ones I mean cool to watch tht first time but boring for the other times. But the last one is the best one which shows thugs and gangstas what happens in the real thug life. With a gangbanger named Krazy K who blames all his problems on other people till the end when he is takin to a real bad prison and Showed A clip of Black people gettin killed and the KKK killing black poeple than he is puit in a really dark room wit strobe lights that brings people he killed and he still doesnt learn and kepps repeating i dont give a ... than he wakes up and is stil saying it and gets killed. But all and all it is a good movie to watch.

Summary: I miss my homies
Review: Unmodestly clever and intellegent horror skit compilation with a trio of drug dealers who wish to make a transaction with a strange mortician. He then proceeds to tell them four run of the mill tales with African Americans in the twist. Corpse comes back from the grave to get revenge, racist politician is hunted by slave dolls, a little boy is walloped by the monster in his closet (which is his mother's abusive boyfriend, just to prove how original these twists are), and a troubled youth refuses to go through a rehabilitation program. Excellent urban/ethnic horror film which makes totally effective use of talent and creates one hell of a movie. Not for the weak at stomach.

Review: Warning: possible spoiler ahead Any movie that ends with Link from the Mod Squad morphing into Satan Himself and hissing the line, "Welcome to hell....Mothertruckers!" scores 5 stars alone just for that. (Obviously he used a different word than my substitute to get this past the censors.) A++++!!!

Summary: Horror in life!!!!
Review: When I first heard about this movie, I was wondering about the concept of the film. When I saw this in theaters, I came away very, very pleased. This was a different take on the horror genre. I saw it as the Horror of living life!!! The stories were thought provoking, but Clarence Williams IMHO stole the movie with his "the stuff"!!! The movie will make you think. Think about your life, and how to change it if you are doing wrong, or being wronged. A must have in your DVD collection!!!
