Summary: Sequel?
Review: Wherever I look at reviews of this film on the internet, I always find one line 'Not as good as the original'. When compared to An American Werewolf In London, there are too few similarites to link the films for it to be a fair comparison. When you watch the film as a stand alone movie it's awesome. There are some great special effects (I particularly like the idea of two werewolves fighting), and a brilliant soundtrack which is also worth buying.

The plot however is nothing too spectacular, but it can be forgiven because the films content is so good, and it contains some great acting from Tom Everett Scott (That Thing You Do!, Boiler Room), Julie Delpy (ER), Vince Vieluf (Rat Race, Grind)and Pierre Cosso (Not a household name, but he certainly deserves to be).

Basically, three Amrerican friends visit Paris as part of their 'Daredevil Tour' and after sneaking to the top of the Eiffel Tower after hours, Andy (Everett Scott) stops the mysterious Serafine (Delpy) from commiting suicide. But when he tries to get involved with her he gets caught up in an underground group of werewolves lead by the sinister skinheaded Claude (Cosso).

Overall this film is unmissable if you're into this kind of thing, but it does have mixed opinions so you may want to look into it further before buying.

Summary: Director's Sophomore outing is not up to snuff
Review: Anthony Waller took the helm of American Werewolf in Paris on the success of his wildly amazing film "Mute Witness". Everything about "Mute Witness" was wonderful. It was riveting and an edge-of-your-seat thriller.

American Werewolf in Paris is just the opposite. I wanted to like this film, because I was nuts about Waller's first film. Here, however, the director, the producer, or the studio - or all three [messed] this film up horribly. The story-line is pitifully infantile - which Werewolf in London wasn't. Further the CGI werewolves are so badly created that they look not unlike cartoon characters (similar to Roger Rabbit).

I hope and pray we get better results from Waller again and that his brilliance isn't just lightning in a bottle.

Don't bother!

Summary: Comedic Icing on Whole Wheat Bread
Review: This seems to be a reproduction of the earlier film ("American Werewolf in London") but with more comedy, and much more special effects using computer generated images. "Is it real of is it Memorex?" Some American students / tourists visit Paris to do something wrong, and tumble into a situation that is over their heads. The hero gets the girl, but also gets more than he bargained for. His attempts to get out of his predicament form the basis for this horror film leavened with comedy. All this action could make you overlook the real danger in foreign travel (contracting a fatal disease). All in all, a fun movie to watch (if you are not too critical).

The actions of les loups garous should make "Buffy" happy she only has vampires to deal with! Its too bad Abbott & Costello are no longer around to take advantage of today's technology ("Abbot & Costello Meet Jekyll & Hyde")

Summary: Fun
Review: A cheerful mix of humor and suspenseful horror set to a fabulous soundtrack. I liked it better than the original movie, American Werewolf In London, partly because it's less angsty and has more delightful shocks. Terror with a playful edge, like a rollercoaster ride, full of enjoyable "rush" moments.

Good movie to watch with friends who like supernatural flicks with sexy rock, neo noir soundtracks.

Summary: An American Werewolf in Paris
Review: I really thought this was a great movie, when I decided to watch it all the way through. My favorite guys of course where Brad, Chris and Andy cause they were all really good. The best parts were when Brad and Amy were fighting and Brad calls her something like an eager-centered corpse. That was great. I really wished that they had more of that in the movie. But all together its really 5 stars *****

Summary: worst movie ever made
Review: This is it. The absolute all time cham-peen worst movie I have ever seen. How bad you may ask? There is NOTHING redeeming about this movie. This movie self-destructs on so many levels it makes a critical analysis difficult. I mean it. It's not even "so stupid it's funny" like "Deep Blue Sea" or "The Fast and the Furious". This movie makes "Beavis & Butthead" look like "Citizen Kane". At the end of the movie I just wanted to cry because I had lost two hours of my life. I wouldn't even recommend anyone watch it to see just how bad it is. It is that bad. You will lose IQ points watching this movie.

Summary: Not A classic, but Bush's "Mouth" saved this one
Review: Ok. So this movie is definitley not a classic like the original(AWIL), but it decent enough to be one of the better werewolf films out there, definitley better than those god forsaken "Howling" movies. One problem was the werewolves, they looked more like weremonkeys the werewolves. I can't understand why they picked that final design for the wolves when so much time and effort would go into animating them. You'd think theyd want to get the look right before they'd break their back's putting them on screen. Regardless, the story was decent, but I don't like the idea of the drug allowing a werewolf to transform at will. A werewolf needs his full moon... that's just how it has to be. It's like peanut butter and jelly. What was absolutley AWESOME was the usage of the remix of Bush's song "Mouth" for the movie. That song fits so perfectly with werewolves that it's scary. Whenever I think of a full moon bobbing in and out of thin, silver lit clouds or the image of a person changing into a werewolf, I can hear the opening of that song playing. That nailed the movie, without it I would have to give this movie 2 stars. So, if you don't know if you want to buy this movie or not, and you don't have the first one, get that one first. But if you do have the first one, get this one only if you're the type of person who would just like to have it for nostalgia's sake. Otherwise, 'Werewolf in London still wears the crown.
