Summary: An surprisngly good black humor sequel.
Review: Now all the kids and teenagers of Springwood, Ohio are all Dead expect for one teenager (Shon Greenblatt) is still alive. Freddy (Robert Englund) is letting him go and the teenager doesn't have much of a memory. When a tough female psychologist (Lisa Zane) tries to break though the teen mind. Finding out, where he's from. She brings him along, with three another teens (Lezlie Deane, Ricky Dean Logan & Brickin Meyer), who unexpectely goes with them. Once the psychologist arrives in Springwood with the teens and she seems to be living there as a child. While Freddy knows the true secret of her true indenty.

Directed by Rachel Talalay (Ghost in the Machine, Tank Girl) made a fresh, different sequel with a unique blend of Comedy for a Horror/Fantasy/Thriller. Yaphet Kotto (Alien) has a Supportive Role as a Psychologist on a expert on Dreams. Written by Micheal De Luca (John Carpenter's In the Mouth of Madness). This has ingenious Visual Effects (Not everyone will love the Climax in 3-D) and a good style to telling the film's story. This one did outgross some of the film's series at the Box Office. Several Die-Hard fans of the Series, call this the Worst of the Series but i don't think so. DVD's has a strong anamorphic Widescreen (1.85:1) transfer (also in Pan & Scan), this is also in 3-D for the film climax but you could watch it at 2-D also. This has a expectional digitally remastered Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound. This is the last of the Elm Street films. Watch for:Roseanne, Tom Arnold, Johnny Deep and Uncredited-Alice Cooper. Grade:B+.

Summary: Worst in the Series
Review: They said they saved the best for last, but that's where they got it wrong. They saved the worst for last. I think some parts of the movie are enjoyable, but they could've done better. I don't think I'm the only one who thinks this.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: a good end to the series
Review: I don't give this movie a 5th star due to lack of originality, but I must say that the creativity and plot of this film are well done. We finally get a history of Freddy's life before he became the dream ghost as well as the only true way to kill him. Most people will enjoy this different twist and final (or should have been final) sequel to A Nightmare on Elm Street.

Summary: one of the best of the series

Summary: Freddy dies in lackluster sequel
Review: As the 6th Nightmare on Elm Street movie, Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare leaves much to be desired. While the previous films are in some way connected to each other, this film begins immediately with many questions that are never answered. The movie begins with Freddy toying with the last surviving teenager of Springwood. Immediately, one must ask how Freddy escaped his imprisonment from Part 5. What more, what has happened to Alice and his child? Did they escape Springwood in time? Did Freddy get his revenge on them? What more, Freddy now has the power to strike at children as long as they're in Springwood. When did he acquire the power to attack people who are not connected to the Dream Master? We never know.

Anyway, the sole surviving teenager is allowed to escape Springwood in order to unknowingly bring more teenagers to Sprinwood. The survivor however, has amnesia and remembers nothing except that falling asleep is a bad idea. He eventually ends up in a shelter where a young woman (Dr. Maggie Burroughs) takes him to Springwood along with 3 kids from the shelter. While the survivor (called John Doe) and Maggie explore a town obsessed with Freddy Krueger, the extra teens stumble upon a familiar house and decide to rest for the night. One at a time, Freddy strikes. Meanwhile, John and Maggie learn new facts about Freddy's origin: Freddy had a kid!

The story is ok, but lacks the necessary continuity I prefer in movie sequels. The acting is not bad considering this is the 6th movie in a series with no stars from the previous films in into (with the exception of Robert Englund as Freddy). Actually, if your eyes are quick enough, you'll notice a small cameo by Johnny Depp (co-star of the original Nightmare on Elm Street). Personally, if they could afford to bring Depp on, I'd like to see him somehow reprise his role as Glen Lantz.

As much as I like this series, this movie left a lot to be desired. Plus, the whole "Freddy's Dead" idea reminds me too much of "Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter". Deep down, you know its not the final chapter. Freddy's already shown up in Wes Craven's New Nightmare. And talks of Freddy vs Jason are always in the air.

Summary: freddy's dead but for how long?
Review: Not the greatest of nightmare on elm street films but not the worst.By far the worst is the Dream Child.C'mon i mean what the hell was that all about?the plot is that Freddy has killed all the teens in his hometown and left the adults in a state of mental incompitance. So he uses the last surviving teenager to fetch his long forgotten daughter.Who just happens to be the only person who can help him escape from his captive hometown.Only four deaths, thats including Freddy's.We also get a look into why his such a phyco freak and how he got this great power to invade our dreams. The 3d ending is poor and its a good job they didn't leave freddy like this. Not a bad film but too many puns.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Weak Nightmare Action
Review: On an entertainment level, this film suceeds. But on a sanity level, this film bites of more than it can chew.

For die hard Nightmare fans, this is a must buy for the whole Freddy timeline. That is this movie's high point. Also, the dramatic scenes cover some of the silly ones, but not all of them.

The cons are that Freddy laughs too much, far too many punchline one-liners, and campy feel that Freddy has developed through sequels.

On the other side, this movie is very funny( and intentionally punny ). Some deaths are memorable( to count, only 4 deaths counting Freddy. 2 of the deaths are real good, one OK, and the other lame) including Carlos with that sharp ear! Worth the rental alone! That was memorable!

The main problemo is that this film buries itself too deep in the first half, starts to crawl itself back out with light drama scenes and the Freddy timeline. But when you balance everything out, the result is only average.

Trivia: This movie has cameos including: Roseanne, Tom Arnold, Alice Cooper, and Jhonny Depp. There is an actor in this movie named Breckin Myers that now has his own comedy show. Talk about pre-fame! You may have seen him in such comedies as Road Trip, and Rat Race...etc.

On a 4 star rating, this movie gets 2 1/2

Summary: The Best of The Freddy Films, But With The Worst Ending.
Review: Indeed the 6th of the Nightmare films is one of the not so dumb sequels to a cool 80s horror movie character (the other popular one was Jason). are man Freddy has killed off all the kids in Elm ST and there is something to do with Has daughter and the dream gods, but the last 9 minutes of this was disappointing. If i were you i wood get the DVD box set. WES CRAVEN'S NEW NIGHTMARE was next.
