Summary: Sequel?
Review: This was a great movie! Although it was very hard to compare to the first, they fit nicely together. Sequels are usually a good way to ruin the original, but in this case it just plain doesn't. Not one of the greatest movies but definetley on my TOP 10 of 2000.

Summary: You Know How To Make a Bad Sequel? Watch This!
Review: I was in the crowd that loved the original Blair Witch film. It was original and pretty creepy, if you get into it. Here we have what the first film wasn't: a poorly edited, cheaply made, bad acted, heavy handed, takes-itself-too-seriously sequel that is one of the worst films of 2000. Was I anticipating? Yes! Did I want my money back? Yes! Did I get it back? Shockingly, no. Which is one of the many disappointments following the screening of this film. I think that if you hated the documentary style of the first, you might like the studio-made look of its sequel. Maybe. It does have a good idea, but the editing and story telling style just confuses and loses you. It might actually make those who hated the first appreciate it more. We don't need to see the witch to get freaked out. We don't need to see her young victims to be freaked out. We don't want to see the gore to be freaked out. We just need creepy situations and scary ideas to bounce in our heads. Not a gothic girl who turns out like the Ally Sheedy in "The Breakfast Club". Not a girl spinning on her bed. Not a van running into a tree, messing up the bumper, swerving to miss children holding hands walking down the street. Notice that the bumper is fine after the fact if you choose to waste two hours on it. Made too quick and too cheap.

Summary: A VERY SCARY MOVIE WITH A GREAT STORY AND A LOT OF SUPRISES
Review: I AM A REALLY BIG FAN OF THE BLAIR WITCH MYTHOLOGY AND I THINK THAT THE FIRST FILM (ALTHOUGH NOT MY FAVORITE FILM) WAS HISTORICAL AND EXTREMELY CREATIVE. IT PORTRAYED HORROR IN A DIFFERENT WAY THAT OTHER MOVIES STILL HAVEN'T. SO, WHEN THE SEQUEL CAME OUT, I WAS REALLY EXCITED AND WENT TO SEE IT WITH AN OPEN MIND; JUST KNOWING THAT IT WAS SUPPOSE TO BE DIFFERENT THAN THE ORIGINAL... WELL, IT WAS QUITE DIFFERENT. THIS MOVIE ONLY SHARED TWO QUALITIES WITH THE FIRST BLAIR WITCH : IT CONTINUED WITH THE BLAIR WITCH MYTHOLOGY AND IT WAS VERY CREATIVE AND SUPRISING. THEY TOOK THE BLAIR WITCH STORY INTO A TOTALLY DIFFERENT DIRECTION. THESE CHARACTERS AREN'T JUST HEARING THINGS LIKE THE CHARACTERS IN THE ORIGINAL, THEY ARE SEEING VIOLENT IMAGES, GHOSTLY FIGURES AND ARE THROWN INTO A WORLD WHERE REALITY AND INSANITY BLUR. I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS MOVIE TO ANYONE WHO LIKES A SCARY MOVIE THAT PLAYS WITH YOUR MIND AND TO THOSE WHO LIKED THE ORIGINAL, BUT FELT ITS STORY HAD MUCH MORE TO TELL.

Summary: impossible to compare
Review: I was scared silly every time i saw the original blair witch. it was completely original and tested the imagination like no other movie can. i didnt go to see this movie because i wanted to see what happenned next...i went to see it for what else they could do with the blair witch story line and still keep it original and scary. they did a great job. the only thing similar between both movies is the title and the idea of the blair witch. the concept is totally different with all new characters. i wasnt sure if i would like it but i watched it with an open mind and ill admit it was pretty creepy.

this movie never goes over the top, ruining the original. its basically another story about how some people get "messed with" by the blair witch of burkittsville. if you are a fan of the original or of scary movies in general, i suggest you check this out. you wont be disappointed.

Summary: GET THIS DVD!!
Review: I got a look at this DVD a few days ago. What a genius idea! Put the movie and the soundtrack on one DVD! People who are fans of Marilyn Manson (Disposable Teens) and Poe (Haunted) will be happy to know those songs make it here on the DVD released sountrack (not available on the original soundtrack in stores now). Also, this DVD has one of the best director commentaries. The reason: first, Berlinger goes in depth to the story and basically explains what's happening throughout each scene and describes to you the who, what, where, when, why and how in relationship to the characters and how it ties with the original movie. Second, I know a lot of people dissed this movie in theatres but there is more to this movie than what they saw in the theatres and this DVD gives plenty of information without overloading the DVD with too many unnecessary "extras." I was really impressed by that since so many DVD's included way too many trailers and stupid featurettes and lame deleted scenes. Third, based on the commentary-you can really see why the director did not want to add or subtract anything from this movie for the simple fact that it sits really well as it's own. If you were like me and only saw this movie once in theatres you will definately enjoy this movie a second time. Click that order button now!

Summary: Very Artistic In A Way That Many Wont Accept.
Review: Blair Witch 2 is a masterpiece. It seperated the true fans of the story from the hypocritical sheep who are being herded by movie critics. This movie served new material to the audience from the three day live webcast, to the movie that took these 5 people put them in a situation in which something played with their heads causing their fellow partners to reach their mortality with the blood on the survivors hands and the blame for their actions placed on The Blair Witch Project, then finaly to the dvd/cd in which you can watch the movie on one side and play the soundtrack on the other with any cd player. I feel the reason the people hated this movie so much is because it did not turn out the way they wanted in to. Movies the have high ratings are the movies that follow the same sequence as the others before it. The ones with low rating are the ones that break the cycle and offer something new, something thats different. The next prequel will be something to look forward to. It is going to take place back when the Blair Witch was viciously murdered by the hypocritics of that society.

Summary: Two Words: Excellent
Review: Blair Witch 2 is an excellent movie. It's not even comparable to the first one. In part one you thought you were scared, you thought you heard things, you thought you saw things. BW2 will scare you and you will see and hear things. This movie builds off of part one perfect. It fills in all the holes and questions you had when you were done watching part one. The acting was fantastic considering they are all unheard of actrs & actrss. Simple fact Blair Witch 2 is SCARY!! IF you are a fan of scary edge of your seat movies this is a must have.

Summary: A Decent Sequel
Review: The negative reviews below and at IMDB almost dissuaded me from seeing Book of Shadows, but my girlfriend overruled me. I was therefore rather pleasantly surprised (if one can be about a horror movie) to find that it was a quite reasonable sequel to The Blair Witch Project. Like the first movie, it was more creepy and unnerving than horrifying. There was a bit more blood than in the first, but not much, and less profanity. The soundtrack was good (if you're into harsh rock), as was the cinematography.

There were the usual problems with horror movies, like why are the characters so clueless, e.g. the psychic chick's ability was quite powerful when it didn't matter, and non-existent when it did. The film also suffered from the usual hard-act-to-follow problem facing all sequels, but if it didn't offer anything new, neither did it fail to live up to the other's standards. The characters were as ordinary as those in the first movie; on the one hand, you don't particularly care for them, but on the other, they're just normal screwed-up kids, and hardly deserve their sorry fate.

What I don't understand are other reviewers' complaints about the Wiccan chick's stilted dialogue (of course she was affected, that's expected for a wannabe Wiccan), and the film's initial statement of being a "reenactment" (that was just to distinguish it from the first movie, which was actually "real" footage). On the other hand, some other reviewers have mentioned that the film had good special effects--like what, the makeup? There were minimal special effects, but good cinematography, if the two can be separated.

Life being short, I would not put this movie on my must-see list, but I would say that most people who appreciate horror movies should appreciate this one.

Summary: NOT AS GOOD AS FIRST ONE AT ALL
Review: YES I TOO WAS FASCINATED WITH THE BLAIR WITCH MOVIE BECAUSE IT WAS A CHANGE IN SCARY MOVIES WHICH ONLY GETS YOU THE FIRST TIME AROUND. THE CHARACTERS WERE EXCELLENT LED BY HEATHER DONOHUE. SO I WANTED TO SEE THE SECOND. I WAS BORDERLINE JUST LIKE SOME OF YOU TOO SEE IT. THEN I TALKED TO SOME OF THE CHARACTERS ON A LIVE WEB CAM FOR BLAIR WITCH 2. I ASKED THEM SOME QUESTIONS LIKE HOW SCARY IS THE FILM. IS IT SCARY THAN THE FIRST, THEY SAID YES! ANSWER IS NO THIS FILM IS NOT SCARY AT ALL, THERE WAS SO MUCH YOU COULD DO WITH THIS FILM, AND BOOK OF SHADOWS THERE WASN'T REALLY A BOOK OF SHADOWS OR THE BLAIR WITCH INVOLVED AT ALL. THE ENDING WAS CHEESY AS HELL, IT JUST MADE YOU WALK OUT OF THE THEATER SAYING " WHY THE HELL DID I PAY FOR THIS?" AND THE CHARACTERS LED BY JEFFREY DONOVAN DIDN'T HAVE THE SAME DAZZLE AS THE OTHERS. BUT OVERALL THE MOVIE COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER AND SCARIER AND WE CAN ONLY HOPE THAT THE THIRD FILM WHICH IS A PREQUEL WILL BE DONE THE RIGHT WAY AND FOLLOW THE STORYLINE!

Summary: Some Cool Info. About the DVD
Review: I'm not going to write a review not but I'll tell you now that I loved this movie. I just found out that the soundtrack will supposedly be on the other side of the DVD, and it will play in any CD player. I know this isn't a review, but I couldn't think of anywhere else to post it.
