Summary: One of the WORST movies ever made!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: OMG this was the worst movies I have EVER seen. If I could I would give this movie minus stars. Like most of the reviewers who say this movie is awful I am a VC obsesee. I adore the vampire chronicles, I basically worship them. this movie does the book no justice. Its NOTHING like the book. it made me cry. Did you SEE what they did to Armand?*cry*

Even if I never read the book this movie is still awful. I dont care that Aaliyah died this movie is stupid. Just because an actress dies doesn't mean you have to give the movie a good rating. So do yourself a favor and don't buy this. Read the book. If you HAVE to see it rent it. Dont buy it. Its not worth the money.

Summary: One of the worst movies I've ever seen
Review: This film "attempts" to combine the plots of several Anne Rice novels into one story. Unfortunately, it fails miserably in this regard. The story is incoherent and diverges greatly from Rice's novels. Any one of Rice's novels (well the earlier ones at least) could easily be the basis for an entire movie. It is beyond me why the creators of this film felt the need to butcher several novels to come up with their script. The movie also suffers from bad acting and cheesy effects. This film is pure garbage. Avoid it at all costs.

Summary: Average movie, but worst screen adaptation
Review: Loved both Lord of the Ring and the Vampire Chronicles. The problem with Queen of the Damned is that it captured not the heart or soul of the books and the end product is like an extended MTV. I am not sure if QOTD has higher budget or IWTV, but clearly much money is spent on the special effects for QOTD. Actually, IWTV has much more passion than QOTD and Neil Jordon captured the essence of the book, like the love-hate relationship between Lestat, Louie and Claudia, the comparison between Louie (one with modern heart) & the old clan in theatre (those who are left behind by the world), the despair of death vs despair of undead. Everything is taken out from QOTD. All we see is Lestat as a bored vampire who tries to have some fun as a singer, Akasha became an all-evil, blood thirsty vampire who tries to dominate the world but got killed because she lust after a handsome boy and Maharet & other oldies acting like 'Pink Ranger' saving the world.

Budget has nothing to do with it. TV series like "Angel". "Buffy the Vampire Slayer' are low budget and yet very well-made and deeply thought provoking. The producers and writers are just too lazy or powerless to collect the right materials in the book for the film. In the present form, QOTD is a film with too many actions but too little reasons. Unlike LOTR films which runs 3 hours each, QOTD has plenty of screentime to add a few dialogues to clear things up, establish the purpose their actions.

I don't care if Anne Rice got how much or how little money for selling the movie right. She still deserve respect for her work and right now, I see none.

Summary: good effects, less tension
Review: I saw this movie mainly because it is Aaliyah's last movie. She will surely be always missed. Unfortunately this movie is not as great as e.g. Romeo must die. The storyline doesn't really catch you and I think that the male actor was a weak choice. The effects are quite good. It's an ok movie but not that great

Summary: Possibly the worst butchering of a story ever
Review: OK, so maybe we need to look at this movie separately, distance it as far as physically possible from Anne Rice and the Vampire Chronicles, but when it comes down to it, that is what it is associated with. And, what a shame that is. Trying to take two books, filled with centuries of information and character development, into a 2-hour movie is impossible. The fact that they could put the name of a wonderful book on a stylized music video is beyond me.

I know this movie is not a follow-up to the movie, Interview with the Vampire. However, that movie showed what these books brought to life could be. When reading her books, the world Anne Rice created becomes vivid and real. And, after watching this movie, those images are nowhere to be found.

Even apart from the book, this movie was absolutely horrible. I gave it a chance because I really wanted to like it, I really wanted it to be good. Unfortunately, it was a vast disappointment.

Summary: It was alright.
Review: This dvd was okay. The book is better. I am a huge Aaliyah fan. It is hard seeing her as a vampire. Judging by her music, she has never sang a song about evil. I mean, when have you heard Aaliyah singing about wanting "Hell on Earth?" I don't think so. My sister is religious and her 2 daughter like Aaliyah's music but she won't allow them to listen to her because she doesn't believe in evil, vampirey, blood-sucking stuff. I try to tell her that Aaliyah's music is nothing like this. She win't listen. Aaliyah wasn't and will never be evil (in afterlife). RIP

Summary: changed the whole story
Review: I really loved the movie but they changed the whole story, not everything but the main parts, like for example Marius did not create Lestat it was Magnus who then distroyed himself in the fire right after making Lestat his fledging. Jesse and Lestat never fall in love; in the movie some ancient ones dies like for example Pandora,in the book none of the ancients dies. Akasha is killed by Maharet sister Makare and David Talbot becomes a vampire by Lestat, they become very good friends. The actors were great especially Stuart Townsend and Aaliyah, my main concern was that the vampires in Anne Rice books are beautiful Immortal and in the movie they did not portraid that. But overall I enjoyed the movie very much, the soundtrack is great.

Summary: The Best thing since the Crow
Review: This movie was astonishing, although, it's sad that Aaliyah died before the DVD release.. I felt this movie was very moving when it came down to the emotions of a Vampire and his lifestyle.Stuart Townsend was excellent. KoRn played a big part when it came to music in this film considering Lestat(Townsend)was the vocalist in a band to tell the world he is not afraid to reveal himself. Altogether, an excellent film it is..

Summary: REALLY REALLY Disappointing
Review: Oh man, I actually thought this was going to be a good movie, but i was wrong---dead wrong. The title of this movie should have been "Completely Pointless" because really, that is exactly what is was. Wow, an old vampire wakes up from his sleep and starts a rock and roll band as the lead singer. What kind of moron thought of that???? Seriously though, if you like vampire movies go see Blade with Wesley Snipes, that movie was waaaay better than this hunk of junk.
