Summary: I vant to drink your coffee!
Review: Hello, and welcome to the world of the Legend of Dracula. If you've ever read Bram's novel--you'll love some of the fun ideas in this movie--the characters, places they work, and origins of what makes and breaks Dracula. What it lacks in characterization it makes up or in fresh ideas. It's a modern take on a classic horror tale! A new twist with a lot of punch!Ok, so why should you go see or rent this version of a tale you probably know already?First, the action is swift and catches you off guard at times.Secondly, you know who or what may be in the coffin...but it's the NOT knowing HOW Dracula will face his humanity or lack of it this time-- that keeps the movie fluid. Finally, who can resist a vivid interpretation of Dracula with not too much blood, just enough "ick" and a fast paced flick with just enough bodies but not too many, and an ending that makes you go--"Hey, now THAT makes sense!"?Never underestimate the power of Dracula. Just as Anne Rice captures the humanity of the vampire in her novels--this movie embraces the legend.R.I.P MissHorror :-]

Summary: Terrible
Review: Wow this movie is bad. I love vampire and horror movies too. This guy who plays dracula is sooo wrong. He isnt charming, menacing or scary. The action scenes are just horrible. A vampire gets its head cut clean off with one swipe of a dagger. And a one handed swipe at that. Another vamp has their head cut off with a pair of lawn clippers? Wow, our hero sure has some upper arm strengh to cut through a whole neck with one motion, spine and all. These vampires acted so silly too, not like youd expect. And how about the "virgin" product placment in about 2/3's of the movie? Bad acting, horrible direction, no scares. Stay far away from this one.

Summary: Are you kidding me?
Review: I am a big fan of vampire stories and movies, and whenever a new movie or a new book comes out, I must have them. When I picked up this DVD, I hadn't actually seen the movie yet. I had heard mixed reviews of it, so I wasn't sure what to expect. It started off well. But the ending was horrible. It ruined the whole thing for me. It's unfortunate. I guess not all vampire stories are good...

Summary: This Movie Sure Does "Suck"
Review: Consider this one of the lamest movies of all time. In the first 20 minutes all of the coolest stuff in the movie happens. And these are some of the worst written horror/death scenes ever in a movie. I rented this movie and I watched the first hour of it then shut it off. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your money on one of the most unbelievably sucky movies ever.

Summary: Good companion piece for Coppola's Dracula
Review: Ok, so maybe you missed this in the cinema, and you're wondering if you should spend your hard earned $ on this contemporary Dracula film. You should probably give it a shot since it contains some inspired moments, genuinely attempting to work around the cliches of the vampire genre. It actually does a much better job of bringing Dracula into the contemporary world than, say, the last two Christopher Lee Hammer films. Seasoned viewers might also recognize a kinship with Coppola's version in that it seems to play upon the entire cinematic history of Dracula, as well as the horror film in general (at one point the film pays homage--perhaps unintentionally--to The Cat and the Canary and The Old Dark House with a long corridor of curtains). This might make a good double feature paired with Coppola's Dracula, although it's notably less "arty."

On the downside, Gerard Butler isn't as menacing as Christopher Lee, Bela Lugosi, or even Gary Oldman (but hey, who is? Frank Langella?). This film does benefit from one of the coolest resurrection scenes in vampire film history, as well as an interesting twist on Dracula's origin.

Summary: Good Movie, even better casting!
Review: I thought the movie was good. Although, Bram Stroker's Dracula in my opinion is a much better telling of the Dracula story. What really got my attention is Scottish newcomer Gerard Butler as Dracula himself. He excudes this intense sexuality. You ladies out there will just want to fast foward through the scenes without him. What I like about the DVD version especially is the behind the scene featurette. You get to hear Gerard Butler talk in his natural voice and it is beautiful. Gerard Butler + Scottish accent = irrestibility!!!!!

Summary: Surprisingly good
Review: Now I will always feel that The Lost Boys is the premier vampire movie, scared the bejesus out of me when I first watched it. This movie on the other hand was more comedic than I thought it would be. But not to the point of the viewer feeling mislead. You won't feel as though you were tricked into watching a comedy when you wanted a horror movie. The story line itself is somewhat hard to follow in the beginning and many things don't make sense right away, but they come together at the end. I do however tend to be a bit disappointed that the concept of the creation of Dracula has changed from what was presented in Bram Stokers Dracula. The Bram Stokers version of how Vlad made the change is a much better theory/concept. But that is not why I didn't give it 5 stars. I couldn't give this movie 5 stars due to the fact that about half of this movie, or more, was set in New Orleans during Marti Gras and I don't recall seeing one person with their breasts showing, even though the beads were flying everywhere. Lets at least try and keep some aspects of movies true to life from now on guys. All in all, the movie is most definately worth renting and is not a waste of ... dollars if you decide to buy it like I did.

Summary: Dracula Revisited
Review: The classic horror icon known as Dracula has reared his pointy teeth for a special Wes Craven retelling for the new millennium. Although I don't consider this the greatest movie of all time, it was certainly interesting and was able to hold my attention . . . well, mostly anyway. The myth obtains a brandspanking new origin revealing to long time fans of the Dark Prince why the evil one is repulsed by silver, crosses, and all things christian. The new origin and everything leading up to the theft of Dracula's coffin are the highlights of the movie. Once the coffin has been highjacked from its secret vault, everything goes down hill, and fast. If not for the origin factor and what leads to the heist, I would have left this movie with a one star rating. It was certainly an interesting watch, but not so much that I ever wish to watch this movie again, let alone own it. Give this Dracula 2000 at least one watch, or go rent/buy a sure thing like "Bram Stocker's Dracula."

Summary: My Dracula 2000 review
Review: Where do I begin??? First the story was your usual Dracula story but many changes were made to make it more modern. The only thing that I think kept my interest in this film was the finale in which Dracula explains his past. Whether it was original or not the Judas reference tied in really well into his character and makes more sense then any of the other Dracula movies created in the past. I think where Bram Stoker's Dracula succeed and this film failed was that story and visuals for this film were subpar. The movie didn't contain alot of action and the little that you receive wasn't enough to scare you. I wouldn't have rented the film had my best friend told me how much it freaked him out, but after viewing it my friend looks like a chicken. Only rent this movie when nothing else is available.
