Rating: Summary: A WASTE OF MY TIME EVEN I DON'T DO ANYTHING! Review: RELIC IS THE MOST DISGUSTING PIECE OF WORK I'VE EVER ENCOUNTERED AND IS FULL OF NONSENSE PLOT. I REGRET SPENDING TIME AND MONEY ON IT. DO NOT BUY IT!
Rating: Summary: A Scream of a Video! Review: I thoroughly enjoyed the Relic! I did a lot of screaming when I first saw the movie in theaters. To be honest I still do a little screaming every now and then. What a really good movie with a setting in the wonderful town of Chicago at the Field Museum located along the mighty Lake Michigan. In my opinion, the monster in this movie is the best looking moneter I've ever seen!
Rating: Summary: READ THIS REVIEW. Review: Relic, by DOuglas Preston and Lincoln child had been an undisputedly awesome and scary book. I agree. Now for the movie. So far, I have heard people in and out put down the movie. I thought it was a stunning film the first time I saw it and I have seen it about 57 times, literally. People complain about "using big words to back up a rediculous plot" THe plot was the same as the movie as in the book, but people just have a hard time really listining to those "big words" and understanding them. SUre, so the book was scarier, but what people are doing is judging the quality of the movie against that of the book. Don't know what I mean? It means that if the book was never written and the movie was made the same, people would like it more because they are comparing it to other movies, not the book. Get it??? THat is not fair. WHy should the movie have to live up to the standards of the book. Give them a break guys!!!! However, I have made a very in depth notation that is kind of dumb in the movie. In the movie, this incident with the Kothoga just coincidentally happens to occur at the opening of the Superstition Exhibition. In the book, if you follow it closly, there is a link between mbwun (Kothoga's name in the book) and the opening of the exhibition. Overall, I loved the movie "THE RELIC". Read my review of the book and other books. I do good reviews don't I???
Rating: Summary: The Relic..possibly the best movie ever!! Review: This movie is awesome!! I watched it 8 times over a 2 day period. I just loved it. Even though I had already seen it, it scared me every time I watched it. I highly recommend this movie!!
Rating: Summary: READ THE BOOK, IT'S TWICE AS GOOD! Review: The movie sucked, read the book! The book was four times better than the horrible movie. The book was way more indepth and descriptive.
Rating: Summary: Walks calmly around the straight and narrow of horror Review: A museum in Chicago receives a strange shipment of leaves, along with an ancient statue. One of the museum scientists, Margo Green, is keen to make a good impression at an impending party to celebrate a new exhibit. Elsewhere a superstitious detective investigates the deaths of the crew aboard a drifting ship, and the killer seems to have moved on. The stage is set for The Relic, a movie which follows the basic creature-horror formula, with dark spaces, deaths which take place underwater or where no one can see, and the screaming people. It has some similarities to ALIEN (a female lead does a lot of the work, the killer is unstoppable) but it's not really the same movie, whatever people say. The Relic stands out on its own, thankfully avoiding a few classic cliches, such as an extraterrestrial creature or one created by a mad scientist, and the leads have the good sense not to sleep with each other at the first opportunity. Genuinely suspenseful, sometimes a little over gory - but what do you expect from an 18? Watch it, but not with animals close by.
Rating: Summary: GREAT! Review: I really liked this movie. I thought it was really scarry
Rating: Summary: It might just be me... Review: ...but I think this movie is totally cool! The effects are awesome, and the acting good. Although not as scary as the book.
Rating: Summary: Good action and horror thriller Review: Many people will say that this The Relic is a copy of Alien. And while the two films do bear similarities, I must say I enjoyed The Relic a lot more than Alien. One reason were the likeable characters. Tom Sizemore is good as the gruff Lieutenant D'agosta and Penelope Ann Miller seemed born for the role of the brilliant and beautiful Margo Green. The Relic is basically about a strange and deadly creature that is living underneath a museum. This movie is a lot more creative than a slasher flick that so many teenagers seem to be interested in and the creature itself is a brilliant design from Stan Winston who did Jurassic Park. I would have given this movie 5 stars if it wasn't so much like Alien although The Relic actually made improvements in the horror genre. Surprisingly, The Relic opened with almost 9.5 million dollars on its first weekend and ended its run with almost 30 million. This movie is certainly very fun and is and moves like a roller coaster ride. It's smooth running time of 110 minutes lets the scares and suspense seem unbearable.
Rating: Summary: A Rollercoaster Ride Of Terror! Review: I'd put this as probably the most frightening movie I've ever seen! Mysterious deaths are occuring at the Chicago Museum of Natural History, and when the night of a new exhibition opens a monstrous reptile wreaks havoc and terror and it's up to a Lt. D'Augusto, and Dr. Green to end its violent rampage. Fast and furious with slick scares at evey turn!
