Summary: MY OPINION
Review: This film was certainly really interesting. At the time when I was told it was true I was delighted but when I found out (courtesy of Guinness World Records 1999) that the story was all a hoax I was a little disheartened at this. The film spawned a massive 7 sequels to date which really defeats the purpose of it's production. The effects were a little cheesy, but in the same way effective. But one thing really chilled my bones, the scene with the little girls imaginary friend "Jody" who flew out the window. Then when her mother came to the window she saw the spirit. All the film showed were 2 lights for the spirit but it really "freaked me out"! Very entertaining is my overall view.

Summary: A HOAX, but a chiller movie
Review: I used to live on Ocean Ave about a block away from the the "evil" house. While it's true the family was shot dead, there is nothing paranormal going on there at all. The only horror about this house is the daily and nightly drive-by's and constant flicker of camera flashes. The owners finally made the good move of changing the famous "eye-like" windows and replacing them with square ones, so it's hard to recognize it now. But there's still a lot of traffic anyway..Oh, and the movie is good too :) A little boring and the acting is less than great, but still eerie and creepy

Review: Although this movie does have its flaws (plot is off-key at times, script has some holes in it), I enjoyed watching "The Amityville Horror". The man who plays George Lutz reminds me of a relative that I have.
