Rating: Summary: BEST ONE EVER Review: This film is the best with Pinhead inside a sculpture and when the Boiler Room owner J.P. Monroe buys the sculpture he notices that Pinhead wants human souls to make him alive, but also Joey Summerskill is on the trail to capture Pinhead also Terri helps too.A decent 3rd in the series has new Cenobites like CD Head,a man with a camera through his eye,and a woman with a Cenobite power.the deaths in this one are cool like a woman has her skin ripped off her body,a bum has a camera shoved through his forehead, and J.P. has chains all over with a spike-like weapon through his head.RATED R OR UNRATED for Graphic Violence and Gore,Language,Brief Sexuality and Nudity, and some Alcohol and Drug Abuse.
Rating: Summary: Decent Film, Horrendous DVD Review: Stay away from his cheap videocassette copy. That's right, this is a plain Video Cassette copied onto a DVD, it looks [bad] and the sound is garbage. A new, cheap ... copy is coming... It's gotta be better than this garbage.
Rating: Summary: This is the WORSE Hellraiser off the series! Review: If you're buying this DVD to complete your set it's hardly worth it. The quality is poor(both sound and picture), there's nothing extra (it's not even letterbox), and it's just a ... movie. Look or wait for something better. ... As a Barker fan for years the first two movies are the only true Hellraisers in which Clive Barker had the most to do with and isn't embarrssed about. The first is a classic and the second was a special efx showcase. Hellraisers 4 through 6 are much better then 3. The cenobites are ridiculous and the plot [was unacceptable]. Oh, by the way, I've met Doug Bradley (Pinhead himself), and he personally said he thought 3 was far from the best as well, case closed.
Rating: Summary: What started in hell will end on earth Review: Hellraiser 3 was really good, but nothing compared to Hellbound:Hellraiser 2 or the original Hellraiser,Kirsty thought she ended Pinhead when rescuing her dad, years pass and then someone solves the puzzlebox that the ghoulish demon was trapped in.As pinhead gets out he needs blood. So then he kills a couple of people to become immortal. Pinhead then becomes regenerated. Then Kirsty finds out, and throught all the pain and suffering she's been through had finally ended. She teams up with Joey to end Pinhead, but Pinhead isn't so easy! As in Hellraiser 2 Pinhead has a little assistant fiend that will help banish Kirsty and Joey and finally do what Pinhead does best: Raise hell on earth!
Rating: Summary: What The "Hell" happened?! Review: In the same vein as Leprachaun In the Hood, this Hellraiser tries to ensare viewers with a whole new batch of "Club" Cenobites. The Lady with the slit throat is replaced by a rave girl with a Traecheotomy, the DJ spits killer CDs out of his head (a trick that was done better in Dolph Lundgren's "I Come In Peace"), and there's some jerk with a video camera in his head. I had hoped that Hell on Earth would take some risks, possibly show Pinhead and his crew doing their thing on crowded city streets, and pick up on the seeds they planted in the second edition for continuity. How Pinhead got from being executed by the Doctor Cenobite at the end of Two to that stupid piece of modern art is beyond me. Instead of paving any new ground this movie strips the franchise of its noir. Pinhead's just another Wishmaster or Freddy. The Contemporary Cenobites are less frightening than Corey Feldman on an Ether binge. The story is stiff and disappointing, barely connecting itself with the rest of the series, proving that Gore does not a horror movie make. Even worse, the make-up and effects look rubbery. That they dropped the mysterious hobo/teredactyl guy from the ensemble entirely was salt in the wound. The sequel to this film, Bloodlines, is pretty much the same caliber, dooming further (and better) installments like Inferno and Hellseeker to direct to video releases. Do yourself a favor and pretend they never happened, like the Star Wars Prequels.
Rating: Summary: Great but not a classic.... Review: Well, Hellraiser 3 was definately different from the first two. On one hand the addition of the new Cenibites (CD man, cocktail man, camera man, and cigarette woman) was a little stupid, The scenes in the nightclub and at the church were definately bone chilling. We got to learn a little more about Pinhead and his pre-pin self. Allthough it did'nt have the same spookiness as the first two Hellraisers, part 3 will have you watching in silence. I will say the DVD package was not so hot. It could have used the Dolby 5.1 and a better quality but all in all it was worth it. This hard to find movie should not be left out of your Hellraiser collection.
Rating: Summary: at least no.3 is available Review: wish it was widescreen or letterbox . It looked like they took it from a old video tape grainy like old low res video. hopefully they will re-release it from the original print in widescreen and add thx to the sound or DTS along with the extra footage. they might consider this an import just because of it being lions head a canadian company. all the video reviews look like they are for the same version so you can't tell what version they were revewing. The tech details don't say what company all the info comes from the reviews. mine is a 2001 release cat.no. 14556E region one. plot was ok but a little short. they need to release a box set after hellseeker.
Rating: Summary: Unbelievably Bad Transfer Review: I am adding my voice to the others who criticized the quality of the picture. I thought my TV was broken when I first played the DVD. It is all dark and blurry, like a 4th generation VHS recording. Or a recording which was degraded by Macrovision copy protection. Now there's a thought, because I cannot believe that this DVD is authorized. It is that bad. This movie is very obscure and it might be difficult to find other versions. I am aware of a VCD version which might be worth a try. I should not post the link here (think "allvcds"). I have not viewed that VCD though. A well produced VCD is playable on most DVD players, and has picture quality comparable to a new VHS cassette. As for this DVD... the horror of the picture quality exceeds Pinhead's horror.
Rating: Summary: good Soundtrack, boring film. Review: This film is so far the lesser of the HELLRAISER films, but the soundtrack CD for this film is not bad. I like the music track for HELLBOUND the mote. i think that one is the best one.
Rating: Summary: Incredible! Review: I purchased this DVD for five dollars because I heard the quality was really poor, but I didn't think it would be so poor that you couldn't watch it. I think "special edition" means unwatchable. Take my advice and the advice of the other reviewers, wait for a better edition to be released.
