Summary: Claim a ship = claim your life
Review: Yo, yo, yo, chill. This movie is tight...aight. The first four minutes are amoung the best in any movie. The opening scene is lovely (as that hot spanish singer sings an early 1960s edition of Balimos...going to live this life for ever Bailmois dounda ecios aribas Bailmosis) but then when the gold hungrey chiefs what gold everyone gets killed or do they? Well that is where ERs Julian Margilis comes in. I normally don't like doctors with the exception of Doctor Chandler (ready room three..ready room three)but Julianna plays the part perfectly as we see the terror and pair in her eyes.
Another great thing about this moovie is that its' an original plot. I mean has anyone ever seen a movie about a ghost ship i really don;t think so word life.
But if you watch for only one thing in this movie watch for well the nude scene with that sexy singer and the black guy that looks like malcom maxey, but if you watch for two things then watch for the nude scene and the end of the movie where they play that butt-pumping music while doctor maragleis is in the ambuklance.
In conclusion, This is difinately a movie you'll want to add to you collection it really has everything you'd want with the exception of Ben Affleck (love you Geza man) If you have the money buy this movie if you don;t have the money try to cut down on the fast foods and then you'll be able to buy this DVD oh heck ya. Go Cubs and gatorade water.

Summary: zzz zzzz .... huh, what!? It's over?
Review: Why do directors insist on imitating crappy movies over and over again? They should at least imitate the good ones. I guess it's our fault for paying for the movies over and over again. For starters, lets ignore the fact that this plot has been done an infinate amount of times and let's also overlook the fact that this is a "horror movie" with friendly ghosts (I was expecting Kasper to lend a hand). What are we left with? A lame acted imitation of Agatha Christie's Ten Little Indians, throw in a little event horizon and House on Haunted Hill and viola! I find it funny that people point out the wire scene as a reason this movie was scary. Well, I was not aware that randomly inserting graphic gore passes as horror. I always thought there should be some tension, mixed in with eerie music, smart lighting, clever camera angles, developing characters that the audience can connect with, interesting plot, etc. ... Nope, I guess the sheeps of society are happy with a sharp wire that chops 40 people in half. It's amazing that these are the standards we have set. Oh and by the way, if you were astonished by the "surprise ending" well then my friend, Sherlock Holmes you are not...

Summary: Terrible
Review: This movie was so lame. Was not scary AT all, and also the ghosts were harmless. I gave it a 2 becasue the scene in the beginging was awsome, with the barbed wire. Other than that, the movie was boring and not scary at all

Summary: Salvage Mission Gone Wrong
Review: As far as horror movies go this is a vast improvement over fear.com and the Ring in my opinion. Plenty of decent acting, a good story and action, and some great special effects. The sets, costumes and music are all well done, especially in the flashbacks. I never knew what to expect and the flashbacks to the original ship and story behind it were great. Definitely a surprise ending as well.

I plan to buy the two pack of Ghost Ship and Thirteen Ghost. Both these movies are good. I do not recommend either for children under twelve as they contain a fair amount of blood and gore. I have seen the two pack for less than twenty dollars. To me they are both a notch above some of the horror schlock I have seen released lately. The picture and sound quality on this DVD are excellent.

Summary: A voyage into the unknown!
Review: When i first saw this movie,(i bought it in okinawa japan on the last part of my overseas tour in the service)from start to finish that is, i thought,Damn! that was a really good movie. Now really people!, in all honesty i have read some of the other reviews on this flick before i wrote my own here and all i can say is "wow, people are hard to please these days!" I have seen a review that said something about the razor wire slicing all those people in half being too gruesome or something like that! you're kidding right? while they could have added a little more gore to that and the rest of the killing scenes,i still believe that it is all done quite well. Not to mention a killer score with a kicka** group like mudvayne included! In my book that rated 5 stars right there! What more could half of us ask for! You get some good ol' blood and gore, some good violence here and there, in my opinion a plot that was pretty good, and HELLO!,not to mention a little bit of seduction on the side as a garnish. I'm thinkin that when that ghost of that singer,(i think she might have been singing in italian, remember that woman in the killer red dress that is singing in the very first scene of the movie)got naked in front of that guy and eventually led him over a cliff, chances are if she had done anything more to that poor guy before killing him we probably would have had a different rating here people! There is only one thing i didn't like about this movie, the ending! I felt like i needed a noose around my neck because all it did was majorly leave me HANGING! I won't tell you any more because i don't want to spoil the movie for those who havent seen it yet, but all i will say is that someone needs to really hurry up and come out with a ghost ship 2!

Summary: Major Let Down
Review: I'm not going to say that I came upon this movie with high expectations, however, I felt it was a major let down.
Don't get me wrong, there were a few freaky moments, but how exactly did the whole razor wire play into the major plot line with the gold heist and poison fall into this movie?!?!
My main gripe with this movie was that it posed so many questions but, in the end, never really answered them.
The score for the movie was pretty good, but that was the only saving grace for this movie.

Summary: Ugh. I could have done without the razorwire
Review: The beginning of the movie really distracted me from everything else. Hmm let's see.. a 300mph razorwire, slicing through hundreds of men and women, sinews and thick frothy blood, intestines seeping out, unraveling flesh, viscerally opened people. Kinda got to me. I felt pretty ... sick after that.

If you can't handle the intestine spurting genre,i'd steer clear.

Summary: Rather bland, standard ghost story.
Review: I watched Ghost Ship and Resident Evil within a day of each other and the difference was quite startling. Where Resident Evil was a rollercoaster of pacing and noise with a great back story, Ghost Ship lumbers along without much direction. Salvaging a luxury liner whose passengers were mysteriously 'dispatched' in the 60's, a glorified tug boat captained by a tired and haggard looking Gabriel Byrne must try to understand why his crew is suddenly disappearing. This film just didn't really engage me. The chick from ER as a spot welding heroine? Not only do I not find her attractive anyhow, but that just didn't cut it in the story itself. The tug crew running around in the old rusted and rotted carcass of the ship reminded me and made me pine for a DVD version of Attack of the Mushroom People. Now there was a ghost ship story worth something.

Summary: Some Cool moments...
Review: I am balancing the scale here, forgive me.

Ghost Ship was actually better than I expected, with an opening that beats-out the rest of the film. Another example of this formula can be found in another slightly better film, "Event Horizon", which is on a 'space-ship' rather than a regular one.

An ocean-liner disappears many years ago, only to be discovered again inhabited by ghostly beings. There are some parts better than others, with some good old/new fashion jumps. That's what really counts nowaday's, I suppose. But, there were many times when I was left scratching my head, "Where's Gabriel Byrne?" The old "Forget about the character's until the plot (did I just use the 'p' word as a descriptive?) needs them to turn up." On the other hand, there are quite a few surprises as far as the "why's and where's", but once you know this would you want to watch it again? Describing the acting as GOOD, would be devulged as the same GOOD as Samuel L. Jackson, Dustin Hoffman, and Sharon Stone in (the letdown in my life-creation of my favorite book) Sphere. If you Loved Ghost Ship, I can understand why.

But for me: A good one to watch once. Rent her. Fin'

Summary: I laughed more than I was scared
Review: This is a bad movie if you're expecting anything to be scary. It's corny and just plain bad. I'll admit I got a little enjoyment out of it (thus the 2 stars). But I wouldn't recommend buying it to my worst enemy. Rent it if you're curious, that's all I can say.
