Summary: Tapped into my own primal fear
Review: I saw this movie when it was first released. I watch in curiousity to see where this was headed. I would like to have seen more of the myth told in the film, but watching these three people totally unravel as the days went by, really drew me into the movie and tapped into my own fears about being lost in a wooded area. The curse itself, not withstanding, brought more of a sense of urgency to their own survival because they had to have some belief it was real, otherwise, why the panic?. In light of some of the horrible crimes that have taken place in this country, in forest areas, wooded areas, parks, etc., that would be enough to frighten most people. How these kids responded to the tension of the moment, I think is what tapped the audience's fears and mine as well.It is clear that this is not a good situation to be in. If you can't find your car, can't find your way out even with map or a compass, your in deep caca. I have camped many times at night and heard sounds that kept me on edge. Never been lost because I can read a compass and I own a GPS. But, the darkness itself can be frightening. The screams and stomping in the woods, whether this is real or fiction can be frightening, especially if it is not your friends doing it.Put yourself in their shoes, I did and it bothered me quite a bit.

Summary: Don't Bother!!
Review: Yeah...great photography...if you like watching 90 minutes of leaves and trees!! This movie is a total bore and is a complete waste of time! To compare this movie to any other horror movie is an insult!

Summary: By far the best Ive seen in years!!!!
Review: I went to see the BWP when it first hit the theatres. I went into the theatre thinking this was live real footage.. I truly believed that these young students were dying trying to make a documentary for their class. I was totaly scared. I kept telling my husband the whole time, "Can you just imagine how those poor kids felt?" "Out there all alone lost and scared out of their wits!" And even though I now know that it was in fact only a movie. I still think it is the BEST HORROR FILM IN YEARS!

Summary: Absolutely bloody scary!
Review: Blair Witch Project is not released here in Perth Western Australia until Christmas but a friend returning from the US brought a copy back. I was going to watch it on my own- I'm so glad I didn't.I have been a spooky movie fan for years but this was so frightening to me because of the unknown and unseen aspects. Well done, to the film makers, I haven't been so scared by a movie in years.I would recommend this to anyone who likes a good fright.

Summary: Boring
Review: While this movie has an R rating and supposedly is not to be seen by anyone under 18, it was made for the 14-16 year old. The only reason it would have an R rating is language, and that did become offensive after about the 200th repetition of "F---." The movie is flawed from first to last, but the worst fault is the fact that there is not one sympathetic figure among the participants, and one starts hoping the witch will get them quickly and painfully, starting with the foul-mouthed, egotistical girl. When there is no one to care about, it becomes nigh impossible to care about the movie itself. Now, perhaps the 15-year old will be much taken with how wonderful this all is (and how "just f---ing uncool," I am, to borrow a much repeated term from the film), but any mature person should find this a colossal bore. By the way, if you lose your map, follow a stream downhill. Anyone knows that, anyone who has ever gone for a tramp in the woods, secondary growth at that, in this case. The girl says her favorite thing to do on Sunday was hike in the woods. Didn't she ever pay attention? Sorry, kiddies.

Summary: It was not scary, but very interesting.
Review: The Blair Witch Project was not the " scariest movie of the decade " as one critic wrote, but it was exremely interesting. The actors in this film gave a great performance. They were entirely believable. But the film itself was not scary in the least bit. It will give you a voyeuristic thrill. I would strongly suggest seeing the film or purchasing it. Do not expect to be scared, because you won't be.

Summary: A movie which shows you something about your imagination
Review: By far the Scariest movie i have ever seen.In the movie first time directors sent out first time actors and sent them out with no set script. The directors made a movie better tahn any movie i have ever seen. They decided to let the audience use its imagination to scare themsleves with the help of their movie. I believe if you were someone who didn't enjoy the movie its because your imagination is very dull or you didn't go in with an open mind. If you are going in looking for a horrendous scene of gore, or amazingly graphic detail, then this isn't it. If you have an imagination, listen carefully and be prepaired for a scare.

Summary: OK! NOT GREAT!
Review: First of all the movie was pretty good. I do have a fault with it. First of all Ok, it is night time they hear evil spirits all around there tent. All of a sudden they start thinking, Oboy lets tape us being killed. And if that is not enough if they want peoples respect the could cut out a four letter word that begins with F. They say that about 100 times. Then later on they are looking for one of there friends who the witch took. They video tape them holding there friends heart on the ground. Then they say this is "REAL FOOTAGE" yah right. Because one the one friend is killed there is only 2 people left. Then theye are running in the field and you can tell someone is taping them beacuse they are taping themselves on there own video camera. Then you see a shot of them running in the field. I know it is not them taping themselves because then they have a third camera. Nobody told them about that before. Then they are taping this for a school prodject and the put the camera on themselves when they are fighting. Then at the very end they find this house and are running through it. They are so scared that they are crying. But yet they are still taping themselves being scared out of there minds. Then they find there friend about 30 seconds before the end. And I would say the heck with the camera I ahve better things to live for. But they see there friend in the back being ready to be killed. They are still shooting a documentary. So then they run up to the friend still taping of course and a big piece of wood falls on them. Then the screen the movie is over. Scary yes. realistic NO. Please filmakers don't lie. This is not the real footage. It is a bunch of people hopping to make a easy buck.

Summary: You gotta appreciate how "real" it was!
Review: When I first saw it, I didn't know it wasn't real. When I noticed that around day 5 and Heather's hair was freshly brushed and braided, I figured the whole thing wasn't real. Otherwise, it was GREAT! If that really happened...use your imagination, It would be so freaky, I would be trying to find out what happened to them however I could.

Summary: What the hell was Artisan thinking?
Review: So they release a great movie on DVD. They even take advantage of the format and throw in some extras. Lost footage, etc. They even put it in a decent keep case, not a cardboard one. But then they put it in "Fullscreen (standard)" format (a euphamism for removing half the image). What a waste. They don't even give you the option of flipping the disc over or using the second layer to get the entire picture. This is inconceivable to me, because you can release both on one dvd. There are very few dvd's released without a widescreen transfer, and many do not even include one of these pitiful pan & scan transfers. If I hadn't already opened this (who would have thought a "Collector's Edition" might be pan&scan?) I would return it. I may still try. Everyone should make sure that Artisan knows that people who buy dvd's do it because they want to see the movie in as close to the original experience as possible, and that means a faithful transfer.
