Summary: Yeah yeah.. all pay homage to Tim Curry and all :)
Review: Everyone else here wrote about Tim Curry.. so here's my take on the MOVIE: This nightmarish creation of Stephen King pulls at the deeply rooted fears of childhood and creates a more tangible horror creeping in every shadow. The surrealistic shift of a clown from the bringer of laughter to a bringer of pain and terror is pure genius. I enjoy the long development of each character from childhood to adult. Each person becomes engrained in the mind of the viewer. Their dreams and, more importantly, their nightmares become the only thing you care about as you sit engrossed at this macabre vision. This type of intense characterization is seemingly unique to King as he lovingly crafts every detail of his particular brand of art. It is a non-stop suspenseful nightmare that made my skin crawl and my spine chill every time I heard a boisterous clown laugh or even had to step out into the pitch black. I have always been a Stephen King fan, but not even the bloody vampire movie "Night Flyer" can top "It" in the horror department. There is no particular scene or portion of the movie to pick out and claim to be the high point of the movie, but there are several points that make even the most calm moviegoer jump and scream. The one thing I enjoy most is that no matter who I watch this movie with and no matter how many times I see it I know that somehow, somewhere I will be surprised and startled!

Summary: good movie...but could have been better with a bigger budget
Review: Overall...this film was really enjoyable and u find the three hours passing quicky...the story is an enjoyable one...and it is interesting to watch the characters go from young teens into adulthood...some great moments too...but the extremely low budget really takes away from what the film could have been...overall...a good effort and fun to watch...but often cheesy...especially the ending....

Summary: IT easily "floats"...
Review: Stephen King's IT is one of the best horror miniseries I, myself have ever viewed.

Tim Curry is brilliant as PennyWise the Dancing Clown. He's sure to curdle your blood! With an all-star cast to back him up, including Annette O'Toole, John Ritter, and Tim Reid (of WKRP fame), Tim Curry takes the shape and form of small-town kids' greatest fears.

For the most part, this film is very easy to keep up to, but in very few parts, it gets a little hard to follow.

Although it's not rated, I definately wouldn't recommend this movie to younger viewers. It's far to intense and well, just plain scary!

Summary: The only good thing about it was Tim Curry.
Review: I do not understand why Stephen King allows his books to be made into movies. The way he writes, you need a huge budget to make a movie that would do the books justice. IT is my favorite book of his, and this version is TERRIBLE. Being Tim Curry's number one fan, is the only reason I bought this movie. Tim rules and will rule forever!

Summary: Not as scary as the book
Review: The movie was suspenseful, but it didn't startle or frighten me. I liked the scene in the Chinese restaurant as well as the clown. If this had been an actual movie instead of a miniseries, it would've been much better. That's my opinion, anyway.

Summary: You'll die if you try!
Review: A brilliant horror film that scared me when I first saw it. Pennywise (Tim Curry) is one mean guy as a ghostly clown. I recommend this to horror fans, and it should be in your horror collection if it isn't now.

Summary: READ THE BOOK!
Review: I don't know what posseses Stephen King to allow his books to be made into low-budget made-for-TV movies, but he needs to stop. I really enjoyed the book and this cheesy movie does not even come close to doing it justice. Of course, to do the book justice would probably require a 10-hour movie with a huge budget. Stick with the books and don't sell them out for money Mr. King!

Summary: THIS IS SO VERY FUNNY!
Review: This movie was supposed to be scary, but came off more as funny. Tim Curry did a great job, but some of the things that were scripted in his character made him very, VERY funny and not scary at all. It was SO stupid. The acting was TERRIBLE! But, if you want to get a chuckle out of one of the campiest movies you will ever see (I guarantee it!) and you want to see a young Seth Green, go buy it. I do have to agree with the other reviews saying that all of King's books that turned into movies su**ed (except for Shawshank and The Stand) and this was probably the worst one of all. But, my brother and I love movies with camp, so, this is one that we cherish forever.

Summary: To be fair to the film makers...
Review: ...the ending is what Mr.King wrote in the book and what they had to work with, and the ending was kind of lame in the book too, but because it was just written words on a page you could imagine it/IT a lot more scarier than what the film makers could ever make.

Summary: Great nightmarish movie, sucky ending!
Review: I loved It. The It, Pennywise, was so scary! The movie was so nightmarish, like when Pennywise appears in the sewer with big yellow teeth, and saying "they all float down here," that was just really scary. Once again the movie is just really nightmarish, you feel like you are in the nightmare with these helpless little kids being stalked by this nightmarish clown. The ending was really stupid though. Everything is great until the ending comes along. I recommend that you see the movie, but turn the movie off before it gets to the ending. I gotta say, 99% of the movie is really scary.
