Summary: Well, It has One Great Scene
Review: We just saw this film last night. Judging from the half-empty theater we saw it in (only a week after it opened), word of mouth has already gotten out about "FD2" and it can't be too good. This is one gory, silly movie... except for the opening highway multi-car crash which garners 2 stars all by itself. The highway crash sequence is the most intense scene in the movie and offers a promising start to the film. Part of the success of a horror film is in making the audience feel the fear of things being out of control in familiar everyday situations. In this scene that happens. Unfortunately, the intensity of this scene doesn't happen anywhere else in the film and from there it's all downhill. The "survivors" of the car crash sequence get offed one by one in increasingly bizarre and overly elaborate ways (e.g., poor Norah). In the first film, death had an appropriately sinister presence; here, it seems death almost has a sense of humor or at least the macabre sense of humor of an overly imaginative screenwriter. After a while it ceases to be scary, just gory, and finally downright funny at the end. Witness the bit at the end of the movie. I won't tell you what it is, but it is almost entirely predictable - I mean, you know SOMETHING awful is going to happen because there has to be a "Final Destination 3" in about a year or two - and it had me rolling with laughter. Cheesy ending, but appropriate I suppose.

Should you go see it? That depends if you want to see this film that bad, but I wouldn't pay full price for it and I'd go see it at the dollar movie houses, which is where it will be by month's end.

Summary: On the edge of my seat!!
Review: I am a big horror/suspense fan. I enjoyed the first installment of this movie very much. HOWEVER, this movie was full of much more excitement. I actually screamed out loud (my husband was even amazed that I did that) I really can't wait for the movie to come out on DVD so I can watch some of the scenes in slow motion. The effects were amazing and the suspense keep me on the edge of my seat. Sure it is a horror movie, but dang these situations are all possible. I think the realism is what freaked me out.
I am going to see it again this weekend.

Summary: Fianlly
Review: It's been a long time since a slasher movie got it right but FD 2 finally give us the gory goodies we've been waiting for.
Plot wise it's alot like the first, a someone has a vision of an oncoming traffic pile up and manages to avoid it saving others in the process. Then death comes along and starts killing them off one by one in a gruesome manner. The death rocked, they where so gory I'm glad a movie finally came along with the balls to show such nasty deaths and I hope we get more slasher movies this gruesome.
I don't think the first reviewer actully saw the same movie I did, considering no one gets his head cut off from a falling helicopter propellor! as he's stated, I don't remember that.

Summary: A standup sequel
Review: Final Destination 2 is one of the best horror sequels ever. Following in the footsteps of Halloween 2. In the much anticipated sequel to the 2000 surprise hit, Death stalks more unknowing victims after a girl has a premonition of a grotesque highway pileup. She parks her car on a highway onramp and saves the lives of about 10 people. Instantly Death starts picking them off one by one in attempt to close the rift caused by the survivors of Flight 180 in the original film. Each person in this group was meant to die but was inadvertently saved by the actions of the original survivors of flight 180, so in an attempt to seal the rift forever, Death tries to take them all out at once. When that doesnt work, he meticulously plots the deaths of each of the new victims and the deaths, mush like in the original, are gruesome and painful. If you are a fan, see it on principle. If you never saw the first one, it can stand alone, the film gives enough background to help you understand. This is a must see for any horror fan.

Summary: Better Than the First
Review: I thought this movie would have the sophmore jinx. wrong!!! This movie movie was everything the first one was and more. So what the lead character from the first one wasn't in the sequel it was still an excellent movie. Go see it, you won't be dissapointed.

Summary: Next Destination Please!
Review: I loved the first one so much I saw it 5 times at the movies. I had a feeling this one wouldn't compare, but I still had an open mind. First off, the car pile-up scene was simply AMAZING! It was shocking and gory...just what a horror fan likes. As for the story line? Well it pretty much copies the first one with what I call minor adjustments. Also, at one point to movie almost collapses in the way it was taking itself so seriouslyly, but they quickly mended that issue. Af for effects? They were top notch! Gory, thrilling, surprising and simply SHOCKING! They got away with stuff I never thought they would get away with! This movie kept me ont he edge of my seat, and was a true roller coaster ride with how they played the suspense of the death scenes. If you want a movie that will hold your interest, ... and shock the ... out of you with the death scenes, then go see this movie!
And if you wanna know how much I love the original, I won the EBAY auction for the Calvin Klein suit, Banana Republic knit pique shirt, and the Bacco Bucci shoes Kerr Smith (Carter) wore in the school memorial scene in the original Final Destination. GO SEE THIS MOVIE!

Summary: Grusome!!
Review: This film is about this girl who can see a horrible accident that is going to occur luckly a policeman is near by and she tells him and her thought really did happen there really was a big accident and she saved the lives of lots of people, but death is still out to get them and it isn't going to stop until it kills them! The gore and body count is a lot higher this time and the death scenes are a lot more grusome in this one overall it is an okay movie and it is a lot better than the first, the ending is cooler also! Go check it out and prepared to be gossed out!

Summary: The Premise is Gone.
Review: I really didn't enjoy the original FINAL DESTINATION very much. However, it did revolve around a somewhat original concept and had some really unique sparks of creativity. The trailer for FINAL DESTINATION 2 sparked my interest, but my gut told me it would be a waste. I read some interesting reviews of the film, but my gut again told me it would be a waste. I ended up seeing the film anyway. I should have listened to my gut.

FINAL DESTINATION 2 is a waste of time. It's really nothing more than a gory, campy horror film. Unfortunately, it pretends to be a semi-serious picture and looses any horrific charm left over from the original. The accidents in this film are much more violent than in the first. People are dismembered (and there is no helicopter propeller!), gouged, smashed, decapitated, and burned alive. Besides that is the whole issue that the kids in the film are trying to fight death. The film makes death out to be an evil, sinister, spiritual presence but set in a world in which the spiritual does not exist (the very opening television sequence sets the tone for the film, speaking of there being no religious or spiritual).

The film has a R-rating, which is ironic because the majority of people who will want to see this movie are those between 11-17. The only thing of value in the film is its acting, which is rather well done and since it's largely a cast of unknowns and this is a horror picture, that's saying a lot. Don't waste your time and go see something else.

Summary: Better than most horror sequels.
Review: Final Destination 1 had lots of creativity and a subtle sense of humor which was brought to it by Glen Moran and James Wong, from the X-files. They constructed a well-acted horror movie for teens that actually dared to explore a new story idea. Yes, it was schlock, but at least it was top-notch schlock.

The sequel ups the ante on schlock, with much grosser deaths than the first movie. The basic idea (that Death will not be thwarted...when it's your time, it's your time) is redone, this time with a teenage girl having a vision of a huge auto-accident and thus preventing several vehicles from being involved in it.

Naturally, one by one, these survivors get offed in gross (and only sometimes creative) ways. The end is fairly unsatisfying, but certainly another sequel could come along.

However, I must give very high praise indeed for the huge auto-wreck sequence. It is edge-of-your-seat stuff and is very realistically executed. In the first movie, when the plane explodes, it just explodes. Poof! In this movie, we see one incident after another leading to disaster. For example, one young lady drops her water bottle, it rolls under her brake pedal, and when she tries to depress it to avoid crashing into another flaming vehicle...well, that little water bottle just makes that impossible. Coffee spilled on a lap has fatal consequences. These are all things we can identify with. When I left the theatre, I was actually just a little edgy about getting in the car!

The movie doesn't have the sly sense of humor of the first, which I miss. But it does have many more squished heads and sliced off limbs, if you like that.

Is it a great film? No way. Is it good, clean (but gross) escapist fun...you bet. Critics will hate it, I'm sure, but if imaginative, elaborate deaths are your cup of tea, along with a couple of genuine jolts of shock, then check it out.
