Review: Great movie, and a GREAT DVD. Just hit the next-button on your remote. Skipping the intro's is really easy!

Summary: Frightening, Freaky and Fantastic!
Review: This is not your typical supernatural story. It's a no holds-barred trip into the unknown and the unseen. The audience in the theater I was in was literally frozen to the screen. I haven't experienced 2 hours in a theater that quiet in ages. Willis is perfect, and you all know how well Haley Owen performed the tormented Cole Sear. An interior car scene with Cole and his mom (Toni Collette) makes you nod in approval to her best supporting actress nomination. A mini sub-plot at a home after a funeral service shows a father grieving for his young daughter...realtives and friends aimlessly move about...yet the kicker to this small scene will leave you gasping. And yes, the ending will surprise the daylights out of you. Incredibly directed by M. Knight Shyamalan, this film experience will stay with you for days...

Summary: Great Movie, leave out previews
Review: This is one of the best movies I've ever seen! The cinematography and soundtrack were what created such unbelievable suspense! This is one of a very few movies that actually had an effect on me and left me discussing it with others for days! Haley Osment SHOULD have gotten the Oscar. The scene when he revealed his "secret" to the doctoer left me with chills, he was so believable! Never have I seen a more talented child actor. And then the videotape that the little girl made of her mother, WOW! Anyway, you get my point that this movie is just really thought provoking and a must see. For those of you, like me, who are a little chickenhearted, watch this one during the day! As for the DVD, I didn't spend extra money for a player and for the disc itself only to be forced to watch previews. LEAVE THE PREVIEWS TO THE RENTAL VERSIONS, not ones for purchase.

Summary: WARNING-- Spoilers found in reviews
Review: To the uninitiated, it is extremely important to go into this movie without knowing its secrets. Several persons haved revealed those secrets in the reviews posted below.

SEE THE MOVIE before reading these reviews.

This is perhaps the most gripping film I've ever seen. Here I was, sitting in the theatre enjoying splendid performances. Little did I know that the director was toying with my feelings, brilliantly sending my perceptions of the story in one direction, only to receive a shocking realization of what was actually happening. Even the great Roger Ebert, in his review, admits that he was taken in hook, line, and sinker. I still can't stop thinking about this movie. Absolutely superb.

Summary: my review
Review: Besides all the hype this movie has received, I must say I really enjoyed it.

I do have to agree with all the others reviews that the DVD version should not include the upcoming releases.

All that aside, the movie is very entertaining, very interesting and the ending is nothing you would have predicted!

Bruce Willis does a wonderful job, but really the star of the movie is Cole, the little boy who has this terrible secret....! his acting was well worth his academy nomination.

Great story, great acting, all the best ingredients to make a great movie!

Summary: Captivating and Haunting
Review: One of the best psychological thrillers I've ever seen. The forced movie trailers at the beginning ruin the disk.

Summary: Not what I thought, but good enough
Review: I have to admit I was at first a little disappointed in this movie. The previews and the hype surrounding this movie made me think it was going to be a lot scarier. I think it's a little presumptuous to call this a thriller, since it hardly thrilled at all. It was an interesting story, however, of a little boy and his secrets, and the movie did do well presenting itself in the mind's eye of a disturbed young child. However, the movie does have it's flaws. I would have liked to see more interaction with the young boy Cole and his demoms that were haunting him; we only get a tease of it. And the one scene where Cole does interact with a ghost (the little cancer victim) had the substance of a made for TV movie. Other than that, I have to appreciate the film for it's originality and it's characters, particulary Cole. Most child actors nowadays get by playing cute way too much, but Osmont played this complex character very well without pandering to the American public. As for the ending, I can't believe people actually thought that was a major plot twist. I don't want to sound pretentious, but I have to say, I had it figured out from early on in the movie; the clues were much too obvious.

Summary: Still Great Even Knowing the Ending
Review: I loved the movie in the theater, but I was curious, after knowing the ending, how I would enjoy the movie a second time around. Fear not. The movie was just as good during the second viewing and knowledge of the ending did not ruin a thing. Watching for clues revealed how well the movie was made, because it proved that the filmmakers did not really cheat or "pull a fast one" on the audience. It's a great story, well written, and excellently performed by the three main characters. I also enjoyed the features though nothing too exciting. However, the movie trailers at the opening of the DVD are a big annoyance that I hope does not become standard.

Summary: Disappointed
Review: I loved this movie when I saw it in the theater. However, the DVD was a big disappointment. Not only were the previews in the beginning not needed, there were vital scenes that were missing from the DVD that were in the original movie. These scenes are needed for the impact that the movie should give the viewer. If I had known that the movie was not the original version, I would not have purchased it. When they say "deleted scenes" on the back of the case, they don't mean previously deleted scenes have been added, they mean they have deleted scenes!
