Summary: Enjoyable
Review: The movie is good story almost as if it was being read to you. There is not a ton of flash or over-hyped special effects. It relies on the writing to gently bring you to the edge of your seat. The musical score gives the movie incredible atmosphere and the acting is excellent. I would not rate this as a traditional horror film but it is a quality qhost story that has good suspense and makes you think a little on the side. Enjoy the experience. It is the storytelling that makes it enjoyable. Recommend it highly.

Summary: This is one of my favorite movies!
Review: This is the favorite movie or one of the favorites from many people and without a doubt the best movie from 1999 everyone must agree that writer/director M. Night Shyamalan is a genius Bruce Willis has never been better and Haley Joel Osment should have won the Oscar just like this movie and like M. Night Shyamalan. Quite suspensful this movie is. I just say have the good sense to buy the sixth sense.

Summary: Superb supernatural thriller !
Review: This film really needs no introduction, just that it was robbed in the Oscars. This is the best supernatural thriller I have seen. What ever you do don't let anyone tell you the twist or it will spoil the film for you, the plot is enough for you to know really or maybe watch the trailer. The DVD menu system is really good; it?s good to see the deleted scenes that didn't make the final cut. There is a RULES section on the DVD that explains everything about the film if you get confused watching it the first time. I have seen it 3 times and you notice different aspects each time. The Dolby 5.1 is amazing along with the clear picture quality. Amazing value for what you get!

Summary: Not as good as people make it sound
Review: Do you wish to see a movie were someone is barfing all over? How about has their face smashed in, or simply the back of their head ripped off and bleeding? Well, if you do thats ok. But for most people seeing things like that make their stomach turn. I do admit that sometimes the story grabbed you in. But the suspenceful parts didn't last long. So, if you wish to see this movie because of all the hype. Take it from me, it's not worth the time.

Summary: There are too many good quotes...
Review: There are too many good quotes to pick just one for a title. Haley Joel Osmont makes this entire movie, he is the perfect child actor, with no phoney emotions. The Sixth Sense is the perfect scary movie, it is scary and thrilling, without relying on endless blood and guts. Perfectly written and perfectly filmed, acted, and directed, The Sixth Sense is a true delight and a marvelous gem. It is a shame that American Beauty won almost everything, and Sixth Sense walked away with nothing. At least it made the top 10 list, a greater prize than an Oscar.

Summary: Sixth Sense Gives Good Shivers
Review: In The Sixth Sense, young Haley Joel Osment (Forrest Gump) sums up the entire premise in one chilling, heart-wrenching sentence as he confesses, "I see dead people." That scene alone is worth the price of admission, but it only scratches the surface of what makes this movie great.

Bruce Willis plays Malcolm Crowe, a child psychologist who -- after the loss of a former patient -- begins to look for redemption. He finds an opportunity in Cole Sear, a bright but awkward boy who has difficulty fitting in. Slowly Crowe gains the boy's trust until he discovers his secret. Young Cole claims that he sees the dead everywhere, walking around like normal people.

Like Crowe, the audience too would be skeptical, but we see what only Cole can see. His world is haunted by strange visions and visitors who pass through the hallways of his school and the small apartment he shares with his mother. These otherworldly encounters are so well-conceived that they suck in the viewer, building suspense slowly and dreadfully.

Writer/director M. Night Shyamalan must have studied Hitchcock carefully, for he understands the importance of suspense. Yet, Shyamalan doesn't cheat the audience with false scares or tension-relieving gags. The horror here is genuine and frightening. Visual cues build suspense until the situations climax in a scary moment that makes audiences shiver.

Interwoven is a love story between Crowe and his wife, Anna (Olivia Williams, The Postman). Obsessed with helping the young boy, Crowe has neglected his wife. He begins to notice changes in her, including a relationship with a co-worker that he suspects may be more than just business. Although important to the story, it pulls us away from the real action, which is Cole and his ghosts. The story slows during these scenes, but ultimately everything ties together.

The Sixth Sense is a wonderfully original story. The beginning is a bit slow. I expected to see ghosts from scene one. Instead, the story took time to unfold, becoming something more than just a ghost story. Had it followed the path I expected, I would have given it a rating two points lower. But Shyamalan had a vision of his own that took the story in a unique direction.

For DVD buyers, the Collector's Edition offers a grab-bag of extras about the creation of the film and some wonderful deleted scenes. The goodies on the DVD make this one to buy!

Summary: Incredible movie
Review: Sixth sense is one incredible movie. The whallop that you recieve at the end is just staggering. The kid's experience seems so real that you think you would begin to see dead people as you walk out of the theatre. A subdued performance from Bruce Willis. After Mercury Rising, Bruce seems to have taken a liking to working with paranormal-above normal kids. The film drags a bit once in a while when you feel that a camera is hanging on a spot too long. That is the reason for a four star rating. But surely an extreemly enjoyable movie, a must buy.

Summary: I see a kid that should have won the Oscar
Review: Michael Caine is great, but Haley deserved it! He is so understated and fabulous here, that I dare any of the other wunderkids in Hollywood to even approximate his performance. Bruce is wonderful as well and my girl Toni Collette is so great. Haley, pace yourself and don't overexpose and you'll be just fine.

Summary: Great acting, unexpected ending, smart directing
Review: I think this is a great movie. The acting was good especially Osmen. Parts of the movie was also very moving (when Osmen told his mom that his grand mother had actually went to see his mom's performance and his mom started crying; i though that was great acting and very moving). The ending was also very surprised and smartly handled. I think everyone should see this movie.
