Summary: WRONG TURN GOES IN ALL OF THE RIGHT DIRECTIONS!
Review: When I first heard of Wrong Turn in the theaters, I was like great another teen slasher movie that will bomb. So I didnt see it. After the release, I was reading a lot of positive reviews from a lot of people. About 2 weeks ago, it come out od DVD and I decided to check it out and see if it was really as good as people said it was. They were all out of it to rent on DVD. I saw that many people were buying it. So I scrambled to find one, and I did! got home and I watched and. MY mouth was open from the start to the very end!

I was shocked to see a teen slasher that was actually good and scary at the same time! Wrong turn is the best horror movie I have ever seen in a long time. The main characterr are Eliza Dushku and Desmond Harrington. Desmond is in his very sleek and nice looking 60's Mustang trying to find a road to get to the town he is looking for, as the main road is blocked. He finds this isolated road in the middle of nowhere and thinks What the Hell. He tries it. Coming to an intersection, he goes head first into Eliza and her friends in their car! Major collision. Then Eliza finds out that there was barbed wire strectched in the middle of the road, and says "This was no accident, someone did this". From there on were have jumps, thrills, action, gore, tension suspense, and of course very ugly villians. Wrong turn in rated "R" for Strong Violence/gore, some language, and drug use. Get ready for a Whiteknuckle Thrill Ride!

Summary: Terrifying!!!
Review: We jus finished watching Wrong Turn and I was totally unprepared for just how terrifying it was! You read the write up and you jus think it's gonna be another tacky movie but I was totally freaked out from start to finish! At one point I thought I was going to have to turn it off because I was so scared..a wimp I know but it really does have you on the end of your seat! The scene where the kids are hiding in the house while the gross cannibals were eating their friend was the scariest (it isn't as tacky as it sounds I promise!) & the tree scene was very clever, check out the girls pupils..you'll see what I mean when you watch it. You have to watch this movie to appreciate what i'm saying. These so called horror movies don't normally have me frightened but all the gory, jumpy scenes in this one will certainly have even the toughest of people hiding behind cushions! Well done to the director. Just one bit of advice..make sure you don't watch it alone!

Summary: Horrible
Review: This movie was disgusting - it had no plot, no character development, and no point. The only thing that the people who made this movie spent any time on was finding ways to make "squish" noises for when the victims were being cut up. I recommend it for no one.

Summary: Waste of money
Review: This movie doesn't even need a review. It is very unoriginal, predictable, cheezy, etc. I know a good horror/slasher movie and this is not it. If your interested in inbreeding or cannibalism or a movie about sick and twisted rural lifestyle, check out a movie like "Deliverance" or "The(original)Texas chainsaw massacre", these are well worth the time. I saw this movie at a party and even in the state of mind we all were in, attention was lost quickly from this movie and many commments were made about how horrible this movie is as well as several laughs.

Summary: SHAME ON THE FILMAKER!
Review: FIRST OF ALL I WOULD JUST LIKE TO SAY THAT IT REALLY STINKS THAT THEY KEEP MAKING OUT WEST VIRGINIA TO BE LIKE THE INBREED CAPITAL OF THE WORLD WHEN THAT STUFF IS GOING ON ALL OVER THE PLACE. SECOND, I THINK THAT IT REALLY SUCKS WHEN FILMAKERS MAKE A MOVIE IN AN AREA THAT IS SO UNLIKE THE ACTUAL PLACE. WEST VIRGINIA LOOKS NOTHING LIKE IT DOES IN THIS MOVIE. AND AS FAR AS INBRED PEOPLE. I LIVED IN WEST VIRGINIA FOR TWENTY YEARS AND NEVER SAW ONE INBREED. THE OTHER THING THAT GETS ME IS WHEN FILMAKERS KEEP MAKING ALL OF THESE MOVIES IN CANADA. YOU GUYS ARE DOING NOTHING TO STIMULATE THE AMERICAN ECONOMY. BY THE WAY THIS MOVIE WAS VERY FAR FETCHED AND JUST PLAIN STUPID! DO SOME RESEARCH NEXT TIME.

Summary: Not really all that good and NOT SCARY AT ALL...
Review: Maybe I didn't like this movie because I just finished watching 28 DAYS LATER minutes before putting in WRONG TURN. And 28 DAYS LATER scared circles around this one.
The acting in this one was next to horrible. I've seen better acting in B rated movies. As far as being scared, I was NOT scared for one moment in WRONG TURN. I tried very hard to be open minded, but the lame one-liners and predictable story-line just tasted flat all the way through. It felt like I was watching FRIDAY THE 13th all over again(one of the bad ones, oh that'd be all of them). The villians are more comical, then frightening and I never felt a bond with any of the characters. So when they got the axe I just didn't care. At times I said, "Hurry and finish her off and put her out of MY misery!". It seemed like the movie could have been a little deeper. It's not like they was pushing for time in the movie, it was only an hour and 18 minutes long.
The special effects were fantastic. The gore was very graphic, too graphic for my liking. I could have gone my entire life without seeing the gruesome murders in this movie. But they did great on the body parts and other weird visuals.
Sadly I canNOT recommend this movie and I was really looking forward to it, too. I only hope CABIN FEVER is better.
If you really want to be scared and freaked out, see 28 DAYS LATER. If you want to see some psycho inbred cannibalistic group of red-necks then WRONG TURN is for you. As for me, I thought it was stupid.

Summary: Nothing Spectacular
Review: I really had no interest in "Wrong Turn" when it came out because I thought it was just another movie about stupid teenagers who get hunted down and killed in the woods. Well, I was exactly right. The only different thing that I wasn't expecting is that the teenagers are hunted by inbred killers in the woods and mountains of West Virginia. While this premise is far from original, it is the mutant inbreds who make the film.

In the opening credits, the audience gets bombarded with images of missing people as well as news articles about mutation. We never quite understand if these mutation articles have anything to do with the killers in the film or if they were just used as a foundation for what we were about to see.

In the film, a group of teenagers and a doctor get into a wreck and must find help in the desolate woods. They split up, of course, and then people start dying at the hands of the cannibalistic killers. Overall, the story isn't that great, but there is a lot of gore and plenty of gross-out moments throughout.

Eliza Dushku, once again, plays the "tough chick" in the film. It seems as though she's becoming typecast. It would be nice to see her in a different role.

"Wrong Turn" is an okay film. I wouldn't suggest it, mainly because there are many other films with this storyline that are much better. However, fans of this genre might want to check it out and compare.

Summary: An Ear!! An Eye!! A Leg!! Gotta Catch 'Em All!
Review: What is the measure used to differentiate between a "good" day from a "bad" day? Well, on a good day one normally finds themselves on track with everything seemingly falling into place. They get to where they want to go on time and they find themselves happy, unwilling to let the little follies of life get to them. On a bad day, however, things seem to go wrong at every corner and life seems to dig itself deeper and deeper into the hole. One oftentimes finds themselves late for interviews needed for that new job wanted, stuck in traffic for hours that blur and looking for a way around it, and one finds themselves perhaps taking the wrong route and making things even worse for wear. How exactly does one take that and then say that it "could be worse," calling it something that perhaps should evoke prayer or perhaps tears? Simply throw in a little accident that traps you and a group of youths on an abandoned road, throw in the byproducts of inbreeding, tempt the teeth of cannibalistic fate, and blend it all into a slasher stew that pretty well guarantees most won't make it out alive. That, in a nutshell, is what Wrong Turn turns out to be.

So, is this some groundbreaking work that will make you go home feeling like you've seen something enlightening in the way of killing? Simply put, no. And it won't do that because its a film in which people are going to find things snowballing from horrible to horrific, with their feet learning what the true motivations behind running are. It's a movie set around killing (or surviving, depending on how you look at it), and that type of movie has been done many times over. Teen actors are used, too, and are showcased in their almost typecast roles. You have the naughty and you have the nice, and you can pretty well assume who might make it out and who might not. Sometimes that leads to the identification relationship between audiences and the movie's prey, but more often than not it simply leads to some wholesale version of slaughter.

That said, killing is always good company for the watching mind that has nothing to do but burn time, and that especially rings true if you have Stan Winston on board. That feeling is expressed within many a challenge his effect teams have completed in the past, and that is showcased within this newer, lovely, form of slasher entertainment. Herein, we are introduced to a group of cannibals that seem to like the sporting thrill of watching the rabbit run, and we are shown some gruesome ways that people in the mountains use to keep from getting bored. Apparently homemade barbed wire comes into play in that, not to mention a variety of cutting utensils, the trusty bow, and buckets of gag-reflex in the "what's that floating in the cloudy jar" department.

If you want a "run, rabbit, run" movie, knowing fully what you are getting beforehand, then this is something that is worth checking out. While it lacks a few of the insignias that horror movies of this type have by not baring all for the audience, it does give you a sense of eyecandy to go along with your impending doom. It furthers this with some talented monstrosities of apparent renown, a nasty little hobble that they inhabit, and some special effect work that might make you want to stay off the nature trail. If that doesn't sound like something for you, with the redundancy of slasher cinema not to your liking, then steer clear. Others, it's camping misadventure for everyone!

Summary: Wrong Turn is a right choice.
Review: Have you seen WRONG TURN? Here is a pop quiz.. (multiple choice) The psycho's in question are? A. They are inbreed. B. They are insane. C. They store body parts in the fridge. D. They have a junkyard of past victims cars. (or) E. All of the above. If you picked E your right! The filmmakers in the commentary compared the film to "TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE" & "DELIVERANCE", another movie it reminded me of was the 70's horror classic "THE HILLS HAVE EYES". Which I encorage you to check out if you haven't seen it. Something must also be said about the remarkable FX that are on display here. Make-up FX are top-notch thanks to Stan Winston Studios. Also there are computer FX that I wasn't aware of 'till I watched the featurettes, they are amazing as well. "WRONG TURN" is worth your time ..pick it up as your next purchase. Horror fans will be pleased.
