Summary: I Feel I [Bad] As A Horror Fan
Review: Although I love the ingenuity and imagination it takes to rehash an old classic for the kids today that don't realize the classic exists in the pursuit of fast cash-money, this, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake thoroughly offended me as a fan of the horror genre. Whenever watching remakes of old horror films that I love, I try to keep an open mind and leave my inner horror purist in the closet, but sometimes (and definitely in this case) it's hard. So for those of you that have see the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre, you will most likely be let down by the remake due to the fact that it carries none of the qualities of the original. Here's how they match up:

Original Texas Chainsaw Massacre:
1. Dark sense of humor that lay inside of dialog such as "Look what your brother did to the door!", etc..
2. We don't get any over-indulgent bullsh*t backstory about the cannibal redneck family to bog us down or to slow the pacing.
3. Leatherface maintains his annonymity by keeping his mask on.
4. All of the kids die in a pretty seamless and quick fashion.
5. The original film was much more frightening in it's semblence of realism. The cheap looking quality made it look almost documentary-esque, as if you're right there with them.
6. The crazy hitchhiker, grandpa, and the other couple of great family characters that all had contrasting personalities.
7. Leatherface had more personality and DIDN'T take off his mask (I feel the need to emphasize this).

The New Texas Chainsaw Massacre:

1. A bunch of whiney kids that I actually want to see die.
2. New "clean" hollywood look
3. A failed attempt at giving the plot a bunch of twists and turns with the family's history which just becomes redundant and boring.
4. Leatherface takes off his mask and we see his face (this killed it for me).
5. They never actually indicate that the family are crazy redneck cannibals, as far as we know leatherface just kills people for fun.
6. Leatherface had no personality at all, and served no purpose in the plot aside from the fact that he runs around with a chainsaw.
7. The pacing and poor plot development made the 92 minute film seem like a 2 hour excersize in torture (not because it's scary, because it was crap).
(...)

I could go on and on about the many flaws I see between the original and the crappy remake, but to tell you the truth, even if this wasn't a remake, it's still not a good film in any way. I was at least hoping for more gore if they were going to remake TCM correctly, and they didn't even provide me with entertainment in that department. I loathe this movie as a horror fan and as a film appreciator, it is a worthless piece of crap, used to sucker unknowing masses of teenagers into dropping their 7 bucks so that the director may reap the benefits of his rip-off-artistry. I read these reviews which describe the horror and grotesqueness of this film, how shocking an experience this film is. To those of you that wrote such a review, or feel this way about the film anyway, see the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre if you really want to see horror. You'll be getting basically the same product, except this time around you'll go running back to your precious remake begging that it take you back into the realm of polished horror, away from anything as visceral as the original.

Review: TO ALL YOU PEOPLE OUT THERE KNOCKEN THIS FLICK ,ALL YOUR LETTING ME KNOW IS THAT YOUR NOT TRUE "T.C.M" FANS OR REAL HORROR FANS!!!!!!!!!!!because if you were you would realize that this is not only the best addition to the "T.C.M" collection since the original its also a great horror movie on its own!!if you don't like this movie then your the kind of person that thought "I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER" was actually a scary movie!!!GET REAL!!!!to the true "T.C.M" fans the double disc set is awsome its everything a dvd collector is looking for,you will see what i mean when you get it!!the best part of the extra feature's is a little documentary on ED GEIN called "the ghoul of plainfeild" now this is for all the little kiddys that believe that there was a real leatherface running around with a chainsaw killing anyone who crossed his path!?!?WRONG!!!HA!HA!HA! here you learn the real truth! here you learn that the truth can acually be more crazier scarier& darker then the movie!!!!!!! THE ORIGINAL TEAXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE IN MY EYE'S IS BY FAR THE BEST HORROR MOVIE EVER MADE!! Summary: Not bad, but I recommend "Wrong Turn" over this.
Review: Remakes of classic horror are almost never needed. However it seems these days Hollywood has run out of ideas for new horror. For instance there have been a # of horror films re-done in the past couple of years.. "Dawn of the Dead" & "Psycho" just to name a few. Has any of these remakes surpassed the originals? No. This film is no exception. I think alot of young film directors just wanna shot at remaking the film(s) they loved at a younger age. And I guess there isn't anything wrong with that. I recommend you see the originals over (or atleast before) the remakes. It's important to see why these films were inspirational enough to be remade in the first place. I guess you know what the next classic horror remake is going to be? It's "The Exorcist" of course.

Summary: Remake
Review: I saw both texas chainsaw massacres and I thought the second one was scarier esp with the women who commits suicide in the beginning. I was a bit confused with the second one though. I had to watch it again to finally understand it. I would recommend a person to see both texas chainsaw massacres. I liked the second one better.

Summary: Great horror movie, period
Review: I loved the original TCM, and i was really excited to see this updated version, and while it is not better than the original, it is still an amazing movie. I loved it. It is not really all that scary or violent, but there are some pretty disturbing scenes. The acting is great, there is alot of emotion and you actually care for the characters, all in all a great movie. Recommended to all.

Summary: A Sad Attempt At Movie-making
Review: Bottom line folks: What's the use of making a film about people getting cut-up when the movie doesn't make one care whether or not the actors live or die. This film is gore just for the sake of gore.

Jessica Beil was the only bright spot in the movie, and even she wasn't shining very bright.

I would suggest renting this movie, but no way would I ever recommend someone spend their hard earned greenbacks on this "gore-fest with no character build up".

Peace-out!

Summary: greatest horror film ever made
Review: This film was so great and the only film that scared the crap out of me when I first saw it in theaters.

Summary: A dirty little film
Review: Oh lord these people are nasty...sick, sick to hell...!! This movie was effective in creating a grim atmosphere for the demise of those in it. I haven't really seen much of the original, but what I can say is that this one is sick, maybe good for you or not. I just wished they had tried to make it flow much better.
Overall, you'll watch it and be happy when it is over, not good not bad, I guess it has its audience, but I still kind of like it.

Summary: Boring for a Slasher Flick
Review: I love horror movies. I love bad horror movies. This movie isn't bad it's lame. I watched it with a group of horror afficionados and we were quite bored throughout most of the film. It seemed to drag on and on. There was probably 25 minutes of interesting footage in the whole flick.

If you are looking for a body count & lots of gore I'd say check out House of 1,000 corpses. The story is just as weak as Texas Chainsaw Massacre, but at least it isn't boring.

If you want a witty, freaky, and somewhat gory movie I suggest May instead of this movie.

I'm glad I didn't see it in the theatre.

Summary: Stupid
Review: It's a story about a group of young people lost somewhere in the Texas and getting killed for no reason. It's just another mater piece of American style movie that makes American stupider.
If you love movies such as 28 days, Bad Boyz II, and big fans of PS2 game Manhunt, go rent this DVD right away. This is the movie for you i guarantee. Other than that, stay away!!
