Rating: Summary: This one is great! Review: I loved this movie and if you're any kind of Stephen King fan, or sci-fi-horror, I guarantee you will love this. The characters were great, everything was great! Go out and rent or buy it today..
Rating: Summary: Great adaptation Review: Except for the horrible horrible miscasting of Molly Ringwald as Fran, a true and great adaptation of the book.
Rating: Summary: FILM IS ON A SCREEN NOT ON A PAGE. Review: PUT SIMPLY, I FELT THAT THIS MOVIE DID A GREAT JOB OF CAPTURING WHAT AN AUTHOR WROTE ON PAGES OF A GREAT NOVEL. MOST OF THE CHARACTERS WERE TRUE TO THEIR DISCRIPTIONS IN THE NOVEL; AND SO WERE THE IMAGES OF THE SCENERY. THAT'S WHAT WAS GREAT ABOUT THE FILM. THE ABILITY OF ALL PARTIES INVOLVED TO DO A GREAT JOB OF CAPTURING ON FILM WHAT THE AUTHOR WANTS THE READER TO IMAGINE WHEN READING HIS NOVEL. THE BOOK DID AN EXCELLENT JOB OF THAT AND THE FILM WAS WORTHY OF THE NOVEL. THIS WAS A GREAT ADAPTATION OF A GREAT NOVEL!
Rating: Summary: Excellent adaptation of the novel--The Best of King's, ever! Review: I've read the book first, at least twice, before I viewed the film (and read the book again afterwards- ha ha!). I couldn't seem to get enough. I can't see how the film version became "unfair to the book", as this guy from TX said; I appreciate that we all have a right to our opinion...I just can't understand where he's coming from. There might have been some omissions made on some parts of the film but the essence is intact, just the same. It was so great a film, I had to finish it through since I started (everything else had to wait!). I would have given it more than 5 stars if I could, though.
Rating: Summary: Not as good as the book Review: I saw the movie BEFORE I read the book. The movie has very little similarities with the book. I liked the movie okay, but it is definately aunfair representation of the book:)
Rating: Summary: Wow... Review: I saw the film after reading the book several times over, and amazingly, it was just as good. I had _so_ much to do the day I watched it, but the film is so addictive that I watched all six hours of it straight. Although they played around with some of the book (replacing Rita with Nadine in New York, and not giving enough screen time to Joe/Leo) it was still a fantastic film. I was a little disappointed that Molly Ringwald wasn't very good, but the rest of the cast are superb. I'd recommend this to anyone, and although it's nott shock-gory horror, the tension is still their. Brilliant.
Rating: Summary: matt Review: this so scary it keeps you on the edge of your seat for hours i played in it!
Rating: Summary: Excellent Review: I saw this movie after having read the book twice, and although it follows the story almost exactly (unusual for a King movie or mini-series), it kept me captivated all afternoon into the evening. I'd definitely recommend both the movie and the book for any novice King readers because it is surely one of the best novels he has ever published - it is long and can be tedious at some points, but it manages to capture and portray all of the little nuances and intricacies of human society that we all take for granted. My review = 5 *'s
