Summary: Greed Is a Deadly Sin.
Review: This is a story about an advocate who wins cases with help of the Devil. It takes him to a big city where he has to win cases again. His wife is happy at first but then everything strange happens. She sees her friend's faces melting and everything awful. She loses her mind and finally she decides to finish her sufferings. She cannot even look to the mirror because she is scared. Her husband, the advocate, sees also very strange happening but she can't believe his eyes but then she's so p***ed off that she tries to kill his employer...guns don't help him...he needs to fight other way..or do the guns help...well not directly...This is quite scary film! If you are watching this alone, you probably feel very scared.

Review: This is a great movie. Who else better to play the devil than al pacino. I'm confused on one thing though. No one seems to know this, but a few years ago I watched this movie on tv with my roomate for the first time, and there was this REALLY freaky scene. It freaked me out, which is a rare thing for me. Keanu Reeves is like standing in the apartment and he has a hallucination. It's disgusting. His stomach is sliced open and he falls to the floor and looks up, and everything's ok. Does anyone recall that scene cuz it's gone! I rented this movie recently and there was no such scene at all. Did they cut it out? After watching that scene, i was like THIS IS A SCARY MOVIE! It bugged me. I know it was the Devil's Advocate. I'm not confusing the movie with something else. There was that psycho scene in it years ago. If anyone knows let me know by writing a review on here. Thanks.

Summary: Al Pacino plays Satan to well
Review: I'm a devout christian. I don't normally do movies with the Devil in it. It's just a spirt I don't want in my home. The Devil's Advocate is one of the freakiest movies I've ever seen.

The Devils Advocate is a story about a hot shot florida lawyer(Reeves) and his beautiful wife(Theron). He's never lost a case and he gets a job offer at a fancy firm in New York. One of the largest and most powerful firms in the world. He gets consumed in his work and his new job. His wife just wants him to start and family but work is becoming his obsession. As he's at the firm he starts realize his boss may have an alterior motive and might not be who he says he is.

Al Pacino is scary. He plays the devil to well. It's easily one of the best roles he's ever done. He plays Satan almost as well as he does Michael Corleone. It looked to me like he had way to much fun doing this movie. He just evil and vial. He really steals the movie.

Charlie Theron is fantastic. She is such a beautiful woman. She has looks that could stop traffic. It's amazing to see the change she takes place in the movie. I can't believe she'd make herself look that ugly. She is so believabel and is a great actress.

Keanu Reeves does a great job. I think it's one of the better films he has ever done in his carear. I love his fake southern accent. He looks like a lawyer and carries the swagger of a lawyer in the movie. He doesn't do all that great in some of the emotional love scenes, but I like him a lot in the movie.

The Devils Advocate is a scary movie. It's a not a nightmare movie, but more of an eye opening movie. Are we really that vain and blind to what goes on around us. It's not a movie for a young audience. I don't think I'd buy it, but it's worth a peak on tv or a rental.

Summary: Off to a good start, then falters
Review: What - a movie about a lawyer really being a devil? Why we never would have suspected it - how original. What really drives this film is Keanu Reaves relationship with his wife and how it falls apart due to temptations and pressures at work. Despite the ridiculousness of the actual plot, these are emotions many men can relate to.

I thought Pacino made things look too easy as the Devil, so much of the plot had an absurd, forced aspect to it. Over all, his performance is energetic, and that overcomes some of the predictability of the plot.

The whole thing unravels a bit at the end. Dialog not quite what it should be, and it felt as if the director wanted to get to the other storyline quickly, so he wrapped it up too soon.

Review: ...and Al Pacino wasn't so bad either

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Accpetable
Review: The plot itself wasn't that bad but it didn't came out as it should be. Reeves and Pacino made a great pair. The major flaw in this movie is that the story goes all over the place. You don't know wat your looking at untill the last minute of the film. So that leaves us questioning through out the whole entire movie. The other thing is that the movie has too much nude and sexual scenes that were not needed. They just put it there to spice things up a little.
Thiss not the type of movie that is worth you searching in the video store for. But if your looking for an intresting story plot and you are willing to look past the flaws it is the right one for you. The acting wasn't bad really.

Summary: Scary Film!
Review: This is a great film! There's really scary things. The faces of women are melted when advocate's wife looks in the mirrors or looks to the face. The Devil is a really typical: a business man. This is a great story. Film is based on Revelations. But who's gonna win? Good or evil? This film wants to set a question: Who is good, who is evil? It demonstrates that people are very snful and they want to make sin. This is maybe the scariest film I've ever seen.

Summary: Good DVD
Review: Very good DVD moving and intersting.

Summary: Interesting
Review: Like others have said The Devil's Advocate is basically a twisted version of The Firm. Young, promising lawyer joins spiffy, seemingly euphoric law firm run by sinister forces (the Mafia [TF], Satan [TDA]), has marital troubles (infidelity [TF], neglect [TDA]) and ends up leaving the firm and redeeming himself.
Be aware that without Pacino this film would be nothing but a boring rip-off. Nearly all of the other actors, Reeves specifically, would destroy the movie with their cheesy performances.
In regards to the DVD version the commentary is wonderful.

Summary: Campfest, but worth the rental
Review: "Devil's Advocate" is definitely a movie to check out on DVD and widescreen TV wherever possible. The production on this movie is probably the biggest reason for that, and the acting second. If that sounds like a criticism, believe me, it isn't.

Good movies shouldn't be about spectacle, they should be about storytelling; this one succeeds somewhat, although it's not helped by having Keanu Reeves play the lead. He's competent, but uninteresting. No, the real stars of this movie are the set/casting/production departments, make no mistake.

And having Pacino mime Sinatra's "It Happened In Monterey" was nothing short of genius--I laughed out loud in the theatre, and I wasn't alone.

The downsides of this DVD are definitely the lack of options with the extended scenes; why they decided to cram Taylor Hackford's commentary down our throats on that one, I have no idea. And a few of them could certainly have been added to the film without much hassle. It's already pretty long.
