The captain of the army is the most painfully annoying character!

Summary: A Must Buy Dead Movie!
Review: Every zombie fan must see this movie. George A. Romero is my hero.Day of the Dead is very gory! no one under 30 should see this movie! The "walking dead" have taken over the world.Only a small band of scientists and soldiers are definitely known to remain, and they have taken refuge in an underground missile silo. The only hope for survival of the human race hings on discovering a way to either control the walking dead or get the dead back into their graves for good.

Summary: "The Darkest Day of Horror The World Has Ever Known!"
Review: One of the last remnants of society, hidden away deep underground in a secure bunker.... in search of what???? A cure for this epidemic, a defense against the dead, or something else?? This ragtag group is made up of scientist and soldier, a pairing that even in peace time has a hard time getting along, let alone in a state of war. As with the prior two installments in George A. Romero's "Living Dead" series, the greatest obstacle to survival is the struggle between the living.

Tension raises as Captain Rhodes (Joseph Pilato), a maniacal bloodthirsty leader, assumes control of the operation. He wants to bring an end to Dr. Logan's (Robert Liberty) experiments, kill all the zombies, and get the hell out of there. Sarah (Lori Cardille), our heroine, is finally able to convince Rhodes that they need more time to complete their work. Being the good little solider he is...he can never turn away from an opportunity to make everyone else's life a living hell. Rhodes suspicion esclate when he finds Dr. Logan trying to domesticate a zombie he calls "Bub" (What are going to do teach em' tricks?). Logan realizes in his sick little mind that "they are us" and thus hold on to certain memories of their previous human existence. By tapping these memories, we can bring them under our control. Really..... can't we all just get along?????

Later Rhodes finds out that Logan has been using his dead comrades in his experiment (as food), and decides to pull-out with what's left of his squad. This is not before he kills the doctor and his assistant and sends our heroes to their probable deaths. But it seems there's a little special treat awaiting Rhodes and his boys. It's payback time. Some uninvited guests have shown up and "Bub" is serving up intestines appetizers.

As always the struggle for power brings the usual death and destruction down upon these characters. Savini and his crew did a tremendous job in assembling the legions of zombies for this film (probably the best of the three films). Romero's ending succeeds and fails on certain levels. In one way, Savini's destruction of Rhode's crew produced some outstanding blood and gore, but the happy Hollywood ending left me feeling a little empty.

Summary: this is the one
Review: Scientists and Army types are under the ground in a research compound trying to find an answer to the problem of the undead. The corpses, it seems have over run humanity and cannot be stopped. How long can these isolated humans survive before the dead come calling? Not to long as it turns out.
This is, simply the best zombie movie ever made. After seeing this, i sampled many others but none ever delivered like this one. This is the kind of film you bring to the in-laws house.Watch with perverse glee the disgust on their faces as intestines spew forth from the abdomen of a partially disected zombie. Behold their shock as the multitudes of undead feast upon victim after victim in all their fetid glory. Everything is so right about this one. It has a story which separates from almost every other zombie film made (i had the misfortune of watching burial ground recently...a perfect example of what a zombie movie should not be). It had good if not slightly over done acting (especially joe pilato in numerous scenes). Its got gore..and lots of it. whats not to like? buy this...now.

Summary: Ridiculous
Review: Neither scary nor interesting, this "horror" movie has a lot of talk, but the talk is not very compelling either. There is one gigantic flaw in the film; the scientist (Frankenstein) claims the zombies don't need to eat anything to survive, they simply go on "primal instincts". If they don't need to eat anything, why are they terrorizing the humans and then eating them? The whole base of the movie has been destroyed. And also there is the stupid half zombie/half human the scientist trained. The scenes with that thing are so preposterous, they are almost unwatchable. What are we going to have in the next zombie movie, a zombie that actually loves and has feelings? No doubt, Romero has made some quality horror movies, which is very hard to do, but this one is anything but quality.

Summary: A underrated Horror classic of the 80's.
Review: Yet some Horror fans either loved or hated this movie, i still think it's great and one of my personal favorite Horror movies.
It's the final in the living Dead series, it's about the last Surviving Humans who are living in a Underground bunker where they must come up with a plan to Control the Dead or destroy them for good while one of them is a trader. It's still offers plenty of Graphic Gore and dismemberment that Dawn of the Dead wouldn't offer, this one is not for the Squeamish.

Other similar movies i would recommend: Re-Animator, Dawn of the Dead, Evil Dead, Evil Dead II, The Thing ( 1982), Toxic Avenger,
Return of the Living Dead, Dead Alive, Bad Taste, Scanners, Akira, Zombie ( Lucio Fulcio's film), Lifeforce, The Stuff,
and Stephen King's The Stand.

Review: This movie was realy good, a little boring in some parts, but it explains alot about how the zombies thing and live. The zombie make up was done pretty good and F/X were realy good, the begining and end of the movie is alittle weird but the rest is smooth so youll pic. up the story fast. If you are a true zombie or horror person BUY this movie be for it goes out of print.

Summary: Mmmmm.....apocalicious!
Review: A fine horror film in its own right, but it suffers in comparison to "Dawn of the Dead". Where "Dawn" thematically succeeds on its criticism of consumerism, it's hard to find where "Day" fits in the trilogy. And George Romero himself has stated that this was only a shadow of the original "dead" grand finale he envisioned. But the good news is that maybe we'll see a another sequel some day? It's time...the world needs another Zombie film!

But no matter...it's creepy, apocalyptic nightmare that probes a primal fear, i.e. being eaten. It's quite well-acted (in a yelling and screaming sort of way) in spite of its other shortcomings. Lori Cardille and Jarlath Conroy stand out; too bad they haven't done more film work (both are very active in indie/theater work). Josef Pilato has gone on to character roles, including Dean Martin in "Pulp Fiction".

One note regarding the special effects...they're *really* disturbing, especially Sarah's field surgery upon Miguel. But people don't pull apart or break quite so easily.

It's well worth seeing. If you can still find it, buy it. The extras (including a home video "making of" documentary) are compelling.

Summary: Good Movie when viewed as part of the Dead trilogy
Review: The final installment in the Dead trilogy has its pluses and minuses. The special effects far surpass both Night of the Living Dead and Dawn of the Dead. The character development is good and you get a fairly good idea where each character stands. Not much of any characters past are covered in any detail. The story line is interesting but the plot of trying to domesticate the zombies is bizarre. If this movie is viewed on it's own it is the weakest of the three. If viewed as part of the trilogy it may be the best out of all them. Please note this movie is widescreen but not anamorphic.
