Summary: The greatest horror flic of all time
Review: "Lets go in the basement and carve ourselves a witch." Probably the coolest movie I've ever seen, Bruce Campbell is the greatest action hero of all time, making this movie the greatest of all time. I mean, what could be better than a hero with a chainsaw for a right arm and a sawed off remington shotgun for another. There was nothing he couldn't fight in that movie, from beginning to end, including his own hand. This movie is the definite cult classic of all cult classics. I recomend this movie to anyone with good taste and it gets my thumbs up rating and my stamp of approval. WOOHAH!

Summary: it was a terrible movie
Review: This movie is not only boring, but DEFINATELY NOT worth a five star rating. I have seen many, many of the classics and it is not up to par with any of them. If you watch both evil Dead movies...it does not make any sense. Ash drives up to the cabin with his girlfriend Linda in the first movie. He beheads her with her a shovel. In the second one her has a girlfriend , Linda, who is beheaded with a shovel the same exact way. Hello....Does this make sense to anyone. I'm sorry, but it definately lives up to its name....Sequel. Even if it were meant to be humorous it is lacking in that too.

Summary: Hilarity Horror
Review: Evil Dead 2 is one outrageous movie. It seems to go for the jugular for laughs. Evil Dead is almost the opposite in intent of the movie than Evil Dead 2. Evil Dead was a horror movie with some humor, on the other hand, Evil Dead 2 is a humorous movie with some horror. The hilarious parts of Bruce Campbell being attacked by his own hand and the scene of looking in to a mirror and I will not ruin what happens when he does. A purely entertaining film, better than the first! GRADE: A-

Summary: This one has it all, and a bloody stump, too!
Review: I knew I had to see this movie when 20/20 did a report about how awful and ultraviolent it was. This movie, though, is a very deep look into the real hero inside of us all. No, we are not all self-sacrificing and brave. Yes, some of us would have to hack off our hands because we got too close to the severed head. Yes. We are all not too bright, especially when it comes to the reanimated dead. Ash is everybody else. I hope I would fare half as good as he did in the same situation.

Summary: Not terrible, but neither is it great
Review: Evil Dead 2 seems to me as one of the most overrated horror-comedies of the 80's. I did laugh at certain scenes, but most of it is rather dull and bland. There are much better horror-comedies out there like Army of Darkness, Tremors, and Re-Animator.

Summary: Very good, but....
Review: This movie was very good, but it really threw me off in the beginning when just Ash and Linda drive up to the cabin. Where the hell are the other people? If you just glaze over the first 5 minutes, and skip up to where the last left off, when the Evil gets right up in Ash's face, you should be fine, because the movie is great otherwise from the part of the prologue with Ash and Linda. Especially good is the scene when Ash and the furniture break out laughing together!

Summary: Funny, funny, funny.
Review: Don't buy this movie to get scared over. Well, if you're the kind of person who sleeps with the lights on for a week after watching Texas Zombie Chainsaw Massacure, then maybe you could manage to freak yourself out a little. But Sam Ramini realizes the limits of his genre and he goes with them... making one of the most entertaining movies I've ever seen (and, yes, I hate horror flicks).

Okay, the effects get cheesy at times and the story gets a little ridiculous, but it's all in good fun, and, really, it actually adds to the movie. Bruce Campbell's (remember Brisco County, Jr.? Same guy--hard to imagine) physical comedy is unmatched in this world, and this movie's a blast.

Go see this film, especially if you've seen Army of Darkness and wondered how the heck Ash lost his hand... it's a great scene. This movie isn't as animation-driven or blantantly slapstick as Army of Darkness (which to me is a good thing), but it still manages to be just cheesy enough to be really, really funny.

Summary: the movie is SUPPOSED to be cheesy!!
Review: its not supposed to be scarey or extremely gorey either. if you go in watching this expecting a horror film you are gonna be very dissapointed.its ridiculous, goofy, cheesy, over the top, dumb, retarded, badly made and you just gotta love it!

this movie is just cool, thats the only words i know to describe it.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: Starts good, concludes in a tiresome manner
Review: I somewhat agree with the viewers from San Francisco and Atlanta below. This film isn't worthy of a five star review, but it does provide a good share of laughs. But by the conclusion, all the laughs are gone, but there aren't any scares to add to the film. Bruce Campbell's performance is not bad, but he should stick more with the one-liners from Army of Darkness, which is a much better film.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Bruce Campbell is awesome!
Review: This movie is hilarious. I loved watching Ash battle his possessed right hand! Most of the special effects were very well done. The dancing body of Ash's dead girlfriend was a little cheesy, but overall a great movie!
